A notice one month later than it should be.

So I haven't posted anything pertaining to this story since May 2nd. I gotta apologize for that and I'm not even gonna beat around the bush on this.

My brain just hasn't been able to focus on wild Hunt these past couple months. I've been trying to focus on it and Gales but my focus keeps drifting to anything but his time on Remnant.

Seriously, it's been bouncing everywhere pertaining to story concepts I have saved on my computer. And the only time it sticks to Gales is when I try to figure out his life before Wild Hunt in the regular Monster Hunter verse, to seeing how he could interact with the cast from Fairy Tail — you can blame Monster Hunters Orage for that, the drawing style makes me think doing a crossover. Which might be interesting at one point but right now It's just a distraction. Also the Aetheryte/Bio-energy situation that was introduced in Chapter 4 has just been nagging at me to do a FF x MH crossover. And that's nothing compared to the other things my brain trying to focus on working on.

Long story short I hate how my brain works when it comes to stories...

Now disregarding that bit I have this to say; as of now Wild Hunt is officially on a hiatus.

Key word being "hiatus", not "cancelled". I enjoy working on this piece, and the interactions between Gales and the cast, but disragarding my earlier statement, this hiatus was my plan for a while now. When I manage to sit down and just going over the story I admit, I like what's put down, but I find going through exerts of Gales' memories and glancing at my initial timeline for this, I feel I really need to explain some things about his world, or at least the image I wanted to paint for everyone.

I feel I need to actually just try working on Gales life before Wild hunt so you can see it better.

And if I'm going to be honest Wild Hunt was always mean to be a Wild Hunt is meant to be a sequel, a second act in Gales life story. But because of that I want to explain Gales' life in "act 1." Possibly show how he grew up, what shaped him into the person he is now and everything that came with growing up there. Show how he got the scar over his eye. What events led up to him meeting Abel and end up in the Order's grasp. Sure, most of that I can explain through more Flashbacks but I personally feel there's a lot that can't be explained through those alone. So I want to take a risk and explain all of it.

Now I could pull a Star Wars and do the prequel second, but I feel that if I do that the Gales I create in that scenario might change him into a different character altogether and then I'd have to do serious edits to what I have so far for the sequel or redo it completely to fit a new personality… yeah, I find doing the former is less work for me.

Long story short Wild Hunt is going to be put on hiatus for a while. How long I don't know, but in the mean time I'm going to try getting my brain to focus of Gales starting out in the Old World.

Now that said I want to give thanks to everyone who's been following this. It's easily the longest piece I've worked on and hearing your thoughts in the comment section has made it worth it.

Also thank TheJester13 for reminding me about putting up a Notice for hiatus, otherwise none of you would be aware of what I was doing.

Now again, I'm sorry but I need to step out for a while longer, I have some stuff already written up for Gales starting out and if I can focus long enough to clean them up a bit I'll try posting it. Till then.
