Nicole had been recovering for a month now. Her boredom was at an all-time high. She didn't know if she could take four more weeks. Chloe was visiting her.
"So, what's it like on the outside?" Nicole asked. "I'm in recovery hell."
"Have John kiss it and make it better."
"There's nothing going on with me and John." "We have a son together, that's all."
"Then why have you guys been talking and Skyping all the time."
"We're friends."
"Isn't that how it started the last time?" She asked smiling.
"Shut up Chloe." She said smiling back.
"Just tell him how you feel."
"Get off it"
"Speaking of telling people something." "When are you telling your family who John's father is?"
"I don't know."
"It's been months Nicole."
"I know."
"You need to tell them." "John should be able to tell everyone about his dad, not just people here in Chicago."
"I know." "I just don't know if I can."
"Why?"
"I've been lying to them for twenty-four years." "It's a hard thing to bring up."
Later that night Nicole was Skyping with John on her laptop. She was telling him about her second marriage.
"Why didn't it work out?" John asked.
"Well I don't know what he meant but Charles said I was emotionally unavailable."
"Do you think you were?"
"No."
"How long were you together before he proposed?"
"Two years."
"Was it a messy divorce?"
"No." "It was very amicable." "I was sad that the relationship ended but at the same time, I wasn't that upset about it." "It's hard to describe." "What about you?" "Do you think you'll ever get married again?"
"Well, I don't know." "Do you think you will?"
"It would take someone very special for me to even consider it again." "I don't know where I'd meet him." "My pain pills are starting to kick in."
"Ok." "I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Ok bye."
"Bye." They disconnected.
A guest reviewer came to me with a suggestion. I've actually been thinking of a similar story idea for awhile now. John Cena spends the weekend with a woman he meets after a break up that leaves him depressed. After said weekend John moves on with his life, eventually getting a new girlfriend. This doesn't sit well with the woman he slept with, although months have passed. She tries to get back in John's life willing to do whatever it takes. Thoughts?
