Chapter 22 is now up! This chapter fast forwards about a couple years. Frieza's relationship with Goku and Vegeta is still a little rocky, but better than it use to be. Which is good because their trust in one another may be tested with a new threat looming on earth's horizon. A threat that may take all three of them to take down. Enjoy :)

2 Years Later...

Frieza and Danielle are still fast alseep when their bedroom door creeps open. It barely makes a sound as it scrapes against the carpet. But Frieza wakes when he feels the presence enter the room. He slowly sits up and sees his toddler daughter standing there, rubbing her eyes with one hand and holding her stuffed rabbit with the other. He waves her over and she silently makes her way to his side of the bed. Thea crawls into his side of the bed and onto his lap. "This is three nights in a row now, My Darling. Is it still the same nightmare?" He whispers. She nods and looks up at him. "Daddy, I really don't think it is a nightmare. I think it's something that's going to happen." For someone so young, Thea was very articulate. She certainly didn't speak like any two and a half year old. She spoke clear sentences like a five year old. A testament to her advanced intelligence. The previous night she told him of a strange monstrous man that she seen in the shadow of her dreams. He was standing amongst a pile of rubble surrounded by fire. Despite the light of the flames though. This man was shrouded in shadow, so she couldn't make out his features. Except his eyes. She told her father they were bright yellow, like a monster's. And the man kept saying in her dream that he will make this world burn. Both parents wanted to write off the dream as just that; a dream. But it just seemed so vivid and unusual for a two and a half year old. Sure kids dream about monsters under their beds or in their closets. But Thea's was odd. This monster of hers was in a strange setting and kept repeating strange phrases. Plus, this is the third night in a row with the same exact dream. Frieza carded his fingers through Thea's long dark locks. "Thea, remember what I told you. Dreams cannot hurt you. They are not real. This monster you dream of is imaginary."

Thea shakes her head, "No, Daddy. It is real. He said he wanted to hurt you, Uncle Goku, and Uncle Vegeta." He raised an eye ridge. 'Okay, this is a new development.' "What do you mean, Love? Why would you say that?" She bit her lip, trying to swallow back the lump in her throat. "He said he was going to get rid of the two saiyans and the arcosian. No one was going to be able to stop him." This statement stunned him. Now she's saying this monster referred to him, Goku, and Vegeta by their race. And that he was going to destroy them. This whole thing is quite strange. He's starting to wonder if there is more to these dreams of hers. He was drawn from his thoughts when he heard sniffling. Frieza held the upset toddler and shushed her. "It's okay, My Thea. I won't let anyone hurt us. Whoever this monster is, we will stop him." She pulled back to look at him, "Promise?" He gently wiped her tears away and kissed her forehead. "I promise, now let's lay down and try and get some sleep. You haven't slept well these last couple of nights. Daddy would like it if you tried your best to sleep tonight." Thea nodded, and he laid down with the tiny girl in his arms. The previous nights he brought her back to her own bedroom. But tonight he figured she could stay with them, hoping it will finally put his frightened daughter at ease and sleep. Thea nuzzled her cheek into his chest as he wrapped his arms around her. When he looked up he noticed Danielle was facing them and she was awake. Concern was written all over her face. Frieza moved a little closer and put an arm around her back. 'Everything is fine.' He mouthed to the young woman. She wanted to say something but it was late and figured it could wait until morning. Danielle gave him a small tired smile before closing her eyes. To his relief, Thea was out in five minutes. He stayed awake a little longer, before he too drifted back to sleep.

Frieza awoke the next morning when he felt slight rustling in his arms. He looked down and saw Thea. She was still fast asleep, with her thumb in her mouth and clutching her stuffed animal. He's glad she was able to sleep through the rest of the night this time. He looked over his shoulder to the small digital clock on the nightstand. The numbers read 8:43am. Danielle rolled over and stretched her arms over her head. She opened her eyes and saw that Frieza was awake. "Good Morning," she said with a smile. "Good Morning, Little Mouse." Frieza then gently patted Thea's back to wake her. The toddler slowly awoken and noticed her parents were awake as well. "Hey, Lady Bug. How'd you sleep?" asked her mother. Thea covered her mouth and yawned. "Okay, I guess." Danielle rested her cheek on her hand and smirked. "So, Daddy's snoring didn't keep you up then?" His eyes widened slightly, "I do not snore. Stop telling fibs." Both girls let out a chuckle as he whined. "It's not that funny. But...I do know what is though." He then started running his fingers over Thea's sides making her squeal and try to get away from her father. But he grabbed her and held her in place as he tickled the giggling toddler. "Mommy, Help!" Thea said between peals of laughter. Danielle chuckled and tried pulling his hands away. When that didn't work she reached behind her for her pillow and whacked him over the head with it. He snickered at the attempt before grabbing the pillow and tossing it away. Then he used his tail to pull Danielle in and preceded to tickle both his girls. After a minute of struggling to get away, Danielle threw up her hands and said she gives. But Thea refused to quite, eventually she squirmed free of her father's grasp and jumped up in victory. He found the whole scene amusing as she jumped up and down on the bed in excitement. Soon they all got up and had breakfast.

Neither Frieza nor Danielle brought up what happened last night and what Thea told her father. These dreams have been greatly upsetting their daughter. But Frieza still wanted to inquire about it. But he figures instead of having her explain it to them. Maybe she'd be open to draw about it. Like her mom, Thea loved art. She had her own easel that she used for drawing, coloring, and painting. So he brought one of her pads and her big crayon box over to the coffee table in the living room. Both Danielle and their daughter were sitting on the couch. She was doing Thea's hair into a French braid while the tot watched 'Paw Patrol' on the t.v. "Darling, could you please do something for me?" he asked the small girl. "Yeah," she said. He slid the bad and box of crayons in front of her on the table. "I won't ask you to talk about it. But could you perhaps draw your dream for me?" Danielle gave him a questioning look, wondering if this was still a good idea. "Okay, Daddy. I'll try." Thea picked up a black crayon and went to work. She started working on the very monster that has been terrifying her in her dreams first. The figure she drew was quite big and imposing. He had no features, she drew him as a solid dark shadow with small bright yellow eyes. It was rather crude drawing, as most toddler drawings were. Next took a grey crayon and started drawing circles and ovals underneath the figures feet and colored the shapes in. Now he was standing on what looked like a pile of rocks...or rubble. Then she took a red, orange, and yellow crayon and ran the colors repeated up and down around the monster, indicating the flames Thea said surrounded the monster in her nightmares. It took her a few minutes, but once she finished she gave it to her father. It certainly irked him, especially when she added some last minute touches to the drawings. There were what looked like broken and destroyed buildings in the background amongst the flames. It looked like something you would see in a horror movie. But Danielle would never let Thea watch anything beyond a G Rated level. So he's not sure where she could've seen something so horrifying.

There was knocking at the door and Danielle went to go answer it. "Oh hey, what's up?" Frieza heard Danielle say to whoever was at the door. "Nothing much, you?" He instantly recognized the voice of Goku. "Can't complain." responded Danielle. Goku walked into the living room where Thea and Frieza were. "Yo!" he said. "Uncle Goku!" yelled Thea, who jumped up from the couch and ran over to the saiyan. She wrapped her arms around one of his legs and hugged him. "Hey Thea, how's it going?" He said as he patted her head. "Okay, but I had another nightmare." she told him. "Really? Again?" he said in surprise. Thea nodded and Frieza held up the drawing to Goku. "She took the time to draw it this time." Frieza said. Goku took it and looked it over. He furrowed his brows in concern. "Looks pretty scary." Frieza told Thea she can go play while he talked to Goku. The toddler left to go play with Maze. "The only thing that is more concerning then the picture itself is what Thea told me last night about it. Apparently this 'monster' told her that he was going to get rid of the two saiyans and the arcosian. And that no one would be able to stop him. Certainly is a strange thing to say. Danielle and myself are a bit concerned about it. I know Thea, these don't sound like her words at all or something she would just make up." Goku rubs his chin, "Is it okay I take this with us?" Frieza raises an eye ridge in question. "It's the weekend, you know I don't train on these days." The saiyan sighs, "I know, and that's not why. Whis wants to speak with us. He says he's been picking up a disturbance in the northern quadrant. It sounds pretty serious."

"Is it bad?" asked Danielle, who now stood beside Frieza. "Not sure yet, hopefully it's not." Goku replied. Frieza turned to Danielle and told her he won't be gone long. "Okay, just remember I'm taking Thea to Bulma's for a play date with Bulla and Pan." He smiles, "Yes, I know. I'll meet you two there afterwards." Danielle smiled and leaned in to kiss him. He met her half way as they shared the kiss. While Goku uncomfortably looked away from the scene. Even after all this time, he still can't get use to seeing Frieza showing this kind of affection to someone. But it was still reassuring that he was on their side now. At times like this they could always use another strong ally. Thea ran over and Frieza knelt down to her level and pulled her in for a hug and a kiss. He told the toddler he loved her and that he would meet Mommy and her at Bulma's. Goku and Frieza made there way to the roof where Vegeta was waiting for them. The saiyan prince eyed the piece of paper in the other saiyan's hand. "What's that?" Goku folded up the paper. "I'll show you when we get there. Whis should be here any minute to take us to Lord Beerus's right?" Vegeta crossed his arms, "Change of plans, Kakarot. He told Bulma he was coming to our home instead. So we're going back there." So all three of them lifted off from the roof and headed to the Brief's Residence. They landed on the large balcony where Bulma was with the kids, ChiChi, Gohan, Videl, Krillin, 18, Piccolo, and her parents. "Bulma, did you hear back from Whis yet? Is he almost here?" Goku asked. "Yeah, he and Lord Beerus said they'd be here in a few minutes." All the kids were presently playing with each other while the adults chatted. Pan and Bulla ran over to the fighters and asked Frieza where Thea was. He smiled at them and told them that she would be here soon. Satisfied with the answer, the two tots ran off to play with the older kids Goten, Trunks, and Marin. "You don't think it's something end of the worldish is it?" asked Krillin.

"Like I said, Krillin. We won't know for sure until they get here." Goku said to the shorter fighter. "What's that in your hand?" aske Piccolo. Goku unfolded the drawing and showed it to everyone. It looked a little disturbing to say the least. It was a very crude drawing but easily distinguishable as to what was happening in the picture. "So, Thea is still having nightmares then?" Gohan asked. Frieza nodded, "Yes, three nights in a row this week. Which compared to the two nights last week. I'd say they are starting to occur more frequently now. Always the same dream with this same being. Only this time she told me the monster spoke something ominous to her." Vegeta grunted, "They are only nightmares. Kids have them all the time. Nothing to bother concerning ourselves with. Bulla once had a bad dream about a gigantic penguin looking thing chasing her and trying to eat her. It was just a stupid dream, nothing more." Gohan adjusted the glasses on his face. "Yeah, but did she have the same dream repetitively in the span of two weeks or more?"

"You didn't let him finish. What did this creature say to her?" Piccolo asked Frieza. "He said he was going to get rid of the two saiyans and the arcosian. And no one will be able to stop him. It's not exactly something one would hear a two and a half year old say. It doesn't seem to add up." While they continued to chat, Lord Beerus and Whis finally arrived. "Greetings everyone." replied Whis. While Lord Beerus made a B-Line to one of the buffet tables. Not long after did Danielle arrive with Thea. The excited tot ran to her best friends Pan and Bulla. Whis squinted and took the drawing from Goku. "Interesting," the blue man whispered. "So Whis, what is it you wanted to talk to us about?" asked the saiyan prince. "I'm here because I picked up on some strange activity going on in this part of the universe. A number of planets were currently destroyed. The energy is old and familiar. It maybe someone I was hoping we wouldn't hear from again for centuries." They all gasped, "So this guy is strong enough to blow up planets?" asked Goku. Whis raised an eye brow, "No Goku, you misunderstood. When I said he destroyed whole planets. I meant that they were completely drained of life. Everything in nature all the way up to the beings that inhabited these planets were...how do I put this; absorbed. Think of a vampire, only this one drains you of your very essence and life force." Whis's focus when then drawn back to the picture in his hand. "My daughter drew that this morning. She'd been having the same nightmare for the last couple weeks. Always with this same being, surrounded by chaos and destruction. He then told her he was going to get rid of the two saiyans and the arcosian. And that no one one can stop him." Frieza informed the attendant. "Really? Then your daughter is even more gifted then I thought." the blue angel said. Frieza's eyes widened, "What do you mean by that, Whis?"

The tall man smirks, "She just confirmed my suspicions on the identity of this foe. We can thank her gift of foresight. These dreams you say she's been having. Well, they aren't dreams. They are in fact; premonitions. This man she has been seeing, his name is Janardan. In which his very name means; Liberator from the cycle of birth and death. Even though her has been around for centuries, he is still a mortal. A powerful warlock and martial artist who mastered a deadly technique. This technique allows him to draw all living things essences and lifeforces from their very being. This move is strong enough to draw this life energy from everything on any given planet. The reason he does this is to renew his immortality. If he fails in doing so, he will lose whatever immortality he has left, whither away, and die. He mentioned the two saiyans and arcosian in Thea's dream correct? That must mean he knows of Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza. Earth must be his next target and he see these three fighters as a obstacle. A challenge to overcome so that he may succeed in wiping out all life from this world. Janardan also holds great malice towards the saiyans and arcosians. Mainly because they are the only races capable of producing warriors that one day may be strong enough to defeat him." Everyone was shocked at the news Whis just shared with them. "You never told us of this bastard before. Didn't you think it relevant that we know of such a powerful foe prior to this information?" said an irate Vegeta. Whis sighs, "We weren't expecting that he'd break free of his prison that yours and Frieza's ancestor imprisoned him in."

"What!?" yelled Vegeta. Frieza smirked, "Yes, I remember father telling me of this tale when I was young. It was a very long time ago. My great ancestor Chilled with the aide of King Vegeta the first fought a foe so powerful and could not be destroyed. So they found a way to weaken him then imprison him. He must've been very powerful if Chilled needed aide from the King of Monkeys at the time." The prince growled, "The fact that your ancestor needed help at all shows how pathetic your line really was." Frieza was about to send him a retort back. "Thea, Dear will you come here for a moment?" said Whis. The arcosian closed his mouth and gave Whis a questioning look. Thea split from Pan and Bulla and ran over to the group. "Hi, Whis." waved the toddler. "Hello, might I ask you a couple questions about the man in your dream?" The child bit her lip and nodded. Frieza picked her up, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Did he say anything else about the saiyans and arcosians?" She shakes her head, "Only that he said he will get rid of them. They can't stop him." Whis nodded, "Did you happen to see what he looked like?" Thea shrugs her shoulders, "He was very tall like you. He looked like a big, long shadow. His eyes were very scary. Bright yellow, like a monster's eyes." Whis straightened himself back to full height. "Thank you, this is all I wanted to know." Frieza put her back down so she can go play. Thea ran off to join the others. "What really makes you so certain that this being in her dream is Janardan? Could be a coincidence." Frieza said in response. "No, I'm fairly certain it's him. The fact that this 'monster' specifically said saiyans and arcosian are a dead give away. His hatred for your kind and the saiyans runs even deeper then your hatred for the saiyan race. Both races are responsible for his imprisonment."

"So we really need to be prepared for this asshole when he comes." said Vegeta. "Indeed, he will be quite difficult to take down. You three will have to work together. If you wish to succeed." Whis told them as he made his way to the buffet table to get his own platter of food. "Accept we don't even know when and where he will show up." replied Goku. "He will mostly come to your positions. His first goal will be to take all three of you out first. Before moving on to drain this planet of life. As for when...you will just have to be on your guard until then." Lord Beerus walked over for some second helpings. "Did I hear correctly? That my old pupil is up to his old tricks again?" Everyone gasped, "Pupil!?" They all shouted at the same time. The destroyer took a sip of his drink, "Yes, once upon a time I took him on as a pupil. He showed great destroyer potential. But I relieved him of his training." Goku approached Lord Beerus, "And why did you stop training him, Lord Beerus?" He threw a small morsel in his mouth before answering. "He was under the assumption that he would gain more power from the planets he destroys. He enjoyed playing 'God' too much. Had he succeeded me in his training, he would've went on and wiped out every form of life in this universe until there is nothing left. He just didn't understand that is not how things work for us deities. There has to be balance in a universe, and life is crucial to that balance." Goku blinks in confusion. "But you destroy planets. So how's it any different?" Frieza groans at his stupidity. "Were you not paying attention, Goku? He said that this maniac would've destroyed every single planet in the universe. This universe is teaming with planets. Even the destroyer knows not to go overboard and destroy every single one. Because Lord Beerus knows not to eradicate all without there being chaotic consequences that could throw everything off center."

"He's basically a destroyer wannabe with a complex. Great, those are always fun to deal with." Vegeta says with a hint of sarcasm. "Either way we must be prepared. We should start getting more intensive with our training if we want to succeed." Frieza told his saiyan comrades. "Agreed, we should start right away." Goku says as he piles more food onto his own plate. Frieza turns his focus to Thea and the rest of the kids. As if sensing he was watching her, Thea turned her crimson gaze from the game to her Daddy. She smiled and waved at him before throwing the big rubber ball back to Pan. He smiled and waved back then turned his gaze to Danielle who was busy chatting with the other women of the group. 'We have to win this upcoming battle, no matter what. Cannot afford to lose, knowing what's at stake.' Suddenly everyone stopped dead in their tracks and turned their attention to the sky. They picked up an ominous presence entering the atmosphere above them. The sky around them rippled with energy currents as something was descending to their position. The clouds parted, and a lone figure hovered in the sky above the city. His cold yellow gaze focused on the group of people on the large balcony of the Brief's Residence.

Looks like a new baddie just came to town. Is it the same being Whis was warning them about? Will the Z Fighters be ready to face them? Until Next Time ;)

Note: The name, 'Janardan' is a real name. It does mean Liberator from the cycle of birth and death. It's origin is Indian and is known in the Christian Religion. I thought it be a good name for the new protagonist in this story. Because he draws his power from all life on a planet. He's essentially eliminating that planet's life cycle.
