Team Voltron sat in the lounge. As he sat, Lance hugged the knee of the leg he has propped up on the couch while the other leg hung over the edge. He sighed. "I wish Shiro would wake up, and tell us how to go on without him."

Pidge, who was sitting on the opposite of Lance, Hunk is sitting next to her as the youngest leaned forward.

"Allura, when we came here, you told me I would fly the Green Lion, and I thought there was no way. But then I found it, and I flew it. And then Hunk flew the Yellow Lion, and he's not even a pilot. In fact, you told everyone who would pilot which Lion."

Hunk bobbed his head. "Yeah, how did you do that? Did we ever find out how you did that?" He gave her big puppy dog eyes on Allura, clasping his hands together. "Can you do that now?"

Allura shook her head. "Sadly no. When you arrived at the castle, I immediately recognized he special qualities in each of you. But I don't know how to search the entire universe for a new Paladin."

Lance turned his attention to Celestia. "Celestia, how did you wake when we first arrived? I mean you weren't in the Castle Of Lions when Allura and Coran awake."

Everyone turned to look at her.

Celestia looked down for a long moment, then looked up again. "I was in my home world when I awoke when Voltron was reformed for the first time."

Coran turned to look at Keith, who stood as he leaned against a wall. "Keith, you piloted the Black Lion when you had to save Shiro. Perhaps you're the one."

Lance quickly let go of his knee, facing the red Paladin. "Keith would be the worst leader of Voltron!"

Celestia gave him a look as she folds her arms. "And you think you can do better?"

Lance puffed out his chest. "As a matter of fact, I know I can."

Pidge rolled her eyes. "Yeah, we all have our thing. Keith's the loner. I'm the brain. Hunk's the nice one. Allura's the decision maker. Celestia's the nice big sister. Coran's the wise old guy, and Lance is the goofball."

Lance grinned as he nodded at each of the comments. "Mm-hmm. Yeah, exactly. Totally right - wait a minute." His eyes grew as he turned his blue eyes to glare at Pidge. "I'm not a goofball!" He folds his arms and stuck his nose up in the air. "I'm the cool, ninja sharpshooter!"

Keith scoffs. "Are you joking?"

Lance leaped to his feet with outrage. "I'm being completely serious when I say I do not want you to lead me anywhere!"

Keith's eyes hardened as his anger flared. "I don't want to be the leader! That's just what Shiro wanted!" Realizing his slip up, he looks away as everyone looks at him with surprise.

"What are you talking about?" Hunk asked with shock.

Pidge looked at the red Paladin. "Shiro wanted you to be his successor, didn't he?"

Keith didn't respond, and Lance held up a hand.

"Well I never heard Shiro say that, and how convenient that you're bringing it up now, when Shiro's gone!"

Keith pushed himself off the wall, unfolding his arms angrily as he stalked up to Lance, fists ready for decking. "You want the job so badly? You can have it!"

"I know I can do a better job then you, Mullet!" Lance yelled back, getting into Keith's face as he too balled his hands into fists.

"You won't last for an hour!" Keith yelled back at him, Lance tackled him to the floor, and decked him in the jaw, Keith punched him in return.

Hunk quickly grabbed Pidge's shoulders and spun her around. "Look away Pidge! Your young eyes don't need to see this!" He, Coran, Allura and Celestia ran over to the two fighting boys.

"Guys! Stop!" Celestia yelled as Allura grabbed Lance's arms, the two Alteans pulled Lance off Keith, who now held his cheek and glared at Lance. Celestia and Hunk were knelt down next to Keith, each had a held an arm.

"He started it!" The two boys yelled in union, pointing at each other.

"That's enough!" Allura yelled, still holding Lance's left arm. "Everyone just calm down! Lance you come with me, Keith go with Celestia."

Keith now sat on a stool inside the kitchen, holding an ice pack to his cheek.

"You two have got to stop this fighting!" Celestia scolded as she leaned on the counter with her arms folded.

Keith just grumbled as he readjusted his ice pack. "He's the one who likes to start things." He winced a little as he used his free hand to rub his jaw. "He likes to pick the fight!"

"But why?!" Celestia wanted to know, staring at him.

"How the hell should I know!?" Keith yelled, then winced when both his cheek and jaw started to hurt. "Ever since we were young, he always started it."

Hunk poked his head into the room, then walked in. "That's cause you were the better pilot." He explained, causing both Keith and Celestia to look at him.

Keith lowered his ice pack. "What?"

"Yeah! You were good while at the Garrison." Hunk replied as he walked over to the bar and sat at the opposite of Keith. "Lance took that as a challenge."

"And you think that's acceptable, for the brawl that the two had just did inside the lounge?" Celestia asked as she raised an eyebrow, folding her arms to give Hunk a look.

Hunk shook his head. "No, it's not acceptable. That's a first for both those two to try to punch each other's lights out."

Keith lowered his gaze to the floor as he lowered his arm, still holding his ice pack. "If Shiro knew about this, he'd be pretty steamed at us."

"I think you both should apologize to Pidge." Celestia said as she took his ice pack, walked up to the sink and dumped whatever ice was inside the bag. "I bet she was very surprised, to see the two of you acting like wild and out of control children."

After awhile, the Paladins are outside the castle inside their Lions. "Listen up Paladins!" Celestia called as White Lion flew around Red, Green, Yellow and Blue. "We are forming Voltron."

"We?" Hunk asked as he watched White Lion. "What do you mean by 'we'?"

"Like I have said before, my Lion is like Black Lion's twin." Celestia answered. "My Lion can connect with you four, in case something ever happened to Black Lion."

A scoff came from Blue Lion, and White Lion growled as she flew up to Blue Lion's face, getting a shreak of fear of Lance.

"Are there any objections Lance!?" She demanded.

"No, no, no, no, no!" Lance cried in fear, shaking his head rapidly and waving his hands rapidly. "Nothing at all!"

"Good!" White Lion backed up. "Now let's try forming Voltron!"

XxXxXxXxX

After the failed attempt at forming Voltron. The whole team now stood in Black Lion's hanger. Celestia leaned against the wall with her arms folded and a sour look on her face.

Hunk looked around. "So, who goes first?"

Pidge shrugs. "Should we draw straws?"

"I have it! I'm thinking of a number between one and fifty!" Coran cried. "Allura, you go first. Pidge is second, then the others."

"Wait!" Lance gasped. "We don't get to guess the number?"

Coran frowned at him. "But, I already know the number."

Lance slouched his shoulders. "Allura, just go!"

As Allura walked towards the Black Lion, Keith turned and walked over to Celestia.

"Are you ok?" He asks gently.

"I don't understand." She said as she unfolds her arms and lets them dangle at her sides. "White Lion is suppose to combine with the other Lions, just like Black Lion."

"Have you done it in the past?"

"Only once."

Before Keith could ask another question, Allura walks out of Black Lion.

"It's not me."

Pidge entered next, and after little bit exited.

It was then Hunk's turn, and in no time he came running out and quickly hid behind Keith.

"Hunk. What are you doing?" Celestia asked as everyone looked at him.

"I don't want to leave Yellow Lion ok!?" Hunk whined, using Keith as a human shield. "I mean, it's big, it's got this super armor, and it's safe."

"But you called the head." Coran reminded him.

Hunk bobbed his head. "Yeah, I know. I wanted to form the head with the Yellow Lion." Everyone continued to look at him, till he got uncomfortable and his shoulders slumped. "Fine." He walked around Keith to re-enter Black Lion.

After a little bit Coran had to go in and drag Hunk out.

Celestia then entered Black Lion. "Talk to me Black." She said as she sat down in the cockpit. "What's going on?"

"I am respecting Shiro's wish." Black Lion answered. "His wish is for Keith to be the new leader."

"It's true Princess!" Red Lion called. "As we went to The Blades for the first time. Keith and Shiro talked. It is Shiro's wish. And I have seen the potential that Keith holds. He was born to be a leader."

"And a strong leader to." Black Lion added.

Celestia nods. "Very well." She stands and walks out, exiting Black Lion.

A smug look appeared on Lance's face. "Ha!" He cheered, running towards the ramp. "My turn!"

Celestia rolled her eyes, then sighed. She walked over to Keith's side, and he wrapped his arm around her.

Lance continued to stay inside Black Lion for a long time, and everyone was getting board.

"Did he fall asleep in there?" Celestia half joked, causing Keith to smirk, Pidge and Hunk chuckled.

"So, how long are we gonna let him sit in there?" The Green Paladin asked.

"Yeah, it's been half a varga." Hunk agreed.

"I'll get him." Celestia only took one step forward, when Lance appeared.

Ripping off his helmet, Lance tossed it down the metal with a loud bang, then it banged a few more times when it bounced off the ramp and hit the floor of the hanger. He then stalked up to his helmet and sat down on it, folding his arms as he sulked. "It's useless! The Black Lion hates all of us!"

"That's not true!" Black Lion insisted. "Just him!"

Celestia tried hard not to giggle.

Allura turned to look at Keith. "Keith, the Black Lion hasn't responded to any of us. You have to try."

Keith's frowned deepened, turning he placed his helmet on his head, then walked up the ramp, disappearing inside Black Lion. After a few minutes, the Lion's golden eyes flicked to life as they glowed and Black Lion rose to it's feet letting out a loud powerful roar. It crouched down, opening it's jaw and the ramp came down. Keith walked down the ramp as he pulled off his helmet and tucked it under his right arm.

Allura smiled. "I'm proud of you Keith. I wish you were getting the job under better circumstances, but congratulations."

Pidge grinned. "Congratulations Keith!"

"Yeah man." Hunk added. "Ditto!"

"No, I don't accept this." Keith told them, shocking them.

"But Keith! Black Lion wants you as the new leader." Celestia told him.

Allura nods. "Black Lion has chosen you."

Keith shook his head. "I can't replace Shiro!" He argued. "You guys were right! I'm the loner. I'm not the leader, Shiro thought I was."

Lance walked up to Keith and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Keith, no one can replace Shiro. But the Black Lion wouldn't choose anybody, it didn't feel was worthy of leading Voltron ... I respect it's choice. And you should too."

As Keith turned to look at Black Lion, Celestia looked at Lance with wide surprised eyes at how he changed his attitude.

"But who's gonna fly Red Lion?" Keith's question brought up a new concern.

XxXxXxXx

Celestia sighed as she paced her bedroom. "Lions of Voltron, this is very annoying!" She scolds with anger. "You do realize that, don't you!?"

"Of course we do, Princess." Black Lion told her. "But it cannot be helped, for what's done is done."

Celestia plopped down at her vanity, her back to the mirror. "Red Lion if you don't choose a new Paladin, I'm gonna!"-

"Princess Celestia, please come to the bridge right away!" Coran's voice called through the speakers.

XxXxXxXxXx

Keith just walked up towards the bridge.

"Keith!"

He turns to see Celestia running up to him, she stops when she gets to arms length.

"Hey, uh. During that meeting with those leaders." He began, but is silent when Celestia places her fingers on his lips.

"You don't have to apologize for that, I didn't expect you too." She lowered her hand and placed it on his shoulder.

"But I did snap at you later that day."

"Keith." She grabbed the sides of his neck. "You just lost the one person that you care for deeply. That is understandable."

"Shiro always knew what to do. He always took the lead."

"I wanted to give up too. But then I remembered that we still have to move on. My sister is dead, it's forever for me." Celestia's eyes glittered with tears. "We still have to have hope, for Shiro to make it out of his coma." A few tears slid down her cheeks. "We have to carve out new paths and continue forward, no matter how much it hurts."

Keith slowly nods. "I, I, I know." He leans to her, kissing her gently.

"Be safe out there." She wishes, surprising him.

"You're not coming?"

"No. White Lion is only for dire situations."

He nods. "Ok." He kisses her cheek.

She smiles. "Good luck." She wishes.

Keith kissed her again. "Thanks."
