TWO WEEKS LATER (early May)

Annabeth is at Leo's house. She's looking for something in his closet. She pulls a chair up so she can see the top shelf.

Annabeth: "Leo! You're sure it's in here?"

Leo: (walks into the room) "No."

Annabeth: (grabs stuff off the top shelf – which she can barely reach, much less see. She comes down with the game Battleship.) "Well, well, well. Not what we are looking for, but a delightful surprise nonetheless. What are you doing in possession of a children's game, Leo."

Leo: (walks over to the closet to see what she's talking about.) "Oh, yeah, I've moved so many times over the last few years that stuff just keeps getting put into boxes and I forget about it. That belonged to Mallory a thousand years ago. Must have come with me when I moved out of the house."

Annabeth: (climbing down from the chair) "Let's play!"

Leo: "No."

Annabeth: "Leo! It will be fun."

Leo: "For who?"

Annabeth: (takes Leo's hand and walks with him into his study) "Remember when you lied to me about your entire life and I took you back? You owe me. Now sit."

Leo sits as Annabeth sets up the game boards.

Annabeth: "Okay. You ready?"

Leo: "No."

Annabeth: "Great. I'll go first."

They start to play. Annabeth wins.

Annabeth: "Look, Leo, I don't want to question your impressive record of military service, but it feels like you should be better at this."

Leo: "Yes. This is exactly what Vietnam was like."

Annabeth: "Maybe if you put on a uniform…"

Leo: "You wouldn't be able to control yourself."

Annabeth: "And that would be a problem?"

Leo: "Set up the board, Schott. Double or nothing."

Annabeth wins again.

Annabeth: (laughing) "I'm not saying I'm a military mastermind, but Matt might want to think about getting me in the situation room next time."

Leo's phone rings

Leo: "Thank Christ"

He gets up and walks out of the room.

Annabeth: (shouting after him) "Admiral Schott, reporting for duty!"

She picks up the game boards and walks over to the closet to put them away when she stops and stands stock still. She thinks for a minute and then follows Leo into the living room. He's sitting on the couch, holding the phone up to his ear with his left hand. She looks closely at his hand.

He hangs up.

Annabeth: "Leo. You're not wearing your wedding ring."

Leo: (looks down at his hand) "Yeah."

Annabeth: "When did you take it off?"

Leo: "The night we went to the fundraiser."

Annabeth: "I can't believe I didn't notice…is it? Are you okay?"

Leo: "Yeah. It was time."

Annabeth: "I guess it has been a few months now since Jenny died."

Leo: "That's not why I took it off."

Annabeth looks at him.

Leo: "I kept it on after Jenny and I got divorced because it was easier. It meant I didn't have to answer questions from people who didn't know me very well and because it didn't matter. It wasn't like I was seriously considering being with anyone else."

Annabeth: "And now?"

Leo: "Now I am."

Annabeth: (huge smile) "Who's the lucky lady?"

Leo: "She's in the Navy."

Annabeth: "Makes sense. You guys would have a lot in common if, you know, she was terrible at her job and lost her entire fleet – not once, but twice – to a superior military force."

Leo: "I'm going to kiss you now, but only to shut you up."

He kisses her

Annabeth: "Do that again. But not just to shut me up."

Leo: "Like this?"

Leo holds her face in his hands and kisses her deeply.

Leo: "And like this?"

He backs her up against the door.

Annabeth: "Yes"

Leo steps away from her to just look at her. He undoes his belt and reaches for her hand. He pulls her hand against him.

Leo: "See what you do to me?"

Annabeth holds his gaze and runs her hand, lightly, over him. She watches as he closes his eyes and pushes himself against her hand.

She moves her hands up and unbuttons his shirt, running her hands over his chest. He pushes her back against the door.

She takes his hand and guides him, his fingers cool against her wetness.

Annabeth: "See what you do to me?"

Her jeans fall to the floor. She steps out of them and reaches again for Leo.

Leo grabs her waist and lifts her up against the door, pinning her with his body. She wraps her legs around his hips and pulls him into her.

His breath is fast in her ear. She wraps her arms around him, thrusting her hips harder into him, pulling him deeper into her.

Leo: (low growl) "Annabeth. Slow."

She relaxes her hips. Leo lowers his mouth to her breasts.

Annabeth: "Oh, God, Leo..."

Leo: "Tell me what you want me to do to you."

Annabeth: "I want you to never stop."
