CHAPTER 41

20 weeks pregnant

Today was the day that we were going to find out if our baby was a boy or a girl. I had never been so excited in my entire life. Our appointment was at 9am and then we were going to start out trip to the Grand Canyon.

I was so excited about both of these events that I barely slept. I could tell that Seth was nervous that Carlisle was going to tell us that the baby was another boy because I had already bought so much stuff for a baby girl.

Walking into Carlisle's office at the hospital I could barely contain myself. Seth held both boys as we walked. I walked up to the desk where a very short dark haired woman was sitting.

"May I help you, dear?" She smiled.

"I'm here to see Dr. Carlisle Cullen." I smiled back.

"And your name is?" She asked standing and turned halfway to walk down the hall to his office.

"Savannah Clearwater." Before she could even walk down the hallway he was standing there.

"Hi." He smiled. As soon as Koda heard his voice he got excited and reached for him. Carlisle gladly took him into his arms as we walked down the hall to his office.

"Is Emmett here too?" Koda asked as his little hand rested on Carlisle back.

"No he's at home. The other's don't come to work with me." Koda nodded his head and looked at Kuba.

"No Emmett here." Kuba nodded. I looked at Seth and giggled. It was so funny watching them communicate with each other. "We going on a road trip after this."

"I know. It's going to be fun isn't it?" Carlisle asked him before tickling Kuba's belly. "I heard you're gonna go camping."

"S'mores!" Kuba shouted as we entered a room. I had been trying to cut down their intake of sugar recently but the baby was only craving things with sugar so as I was stuffing my face, the boys would sit beside me and also reach into the bag of what I was eating. Seth was starting to get annoyed with our eating habits.

"So, what do we think it is?" Carlisle asked while sitting down and turning on the ultrasound machine.

"I think it's a boy but I want a girl." I answered sitting down and lifting my shirt and undoing my pants. Carlisle kept Koda on his lap as he stuck a towel into my pants and turned on the ultrasound machine.

"Let me just take some measurements." Carlisle said as he ran the wand over my lower stomach. My bump was really sticking out now and it was pretty clear that I was actually pregnant and not just me gaining weight. He used one hand to take measurements and kept his other around Koda.

"Baby." Kuba said pointing to my belly. In the last few days his vocabulary was getting bigger. He loved to repeat every word we said to him. I was so happy with the improvements he's been making lately. I knew we still had a long road ahead of us but I was excited to see how he progressed when he started the new program.

"Do you wanna find out if you're having a brother or sister?" Carlisle asked the boys.

"Yes!" Koda shouted throwing his hands in the air nearly hitting Carlisle in the face. "Sorry." He whispered bringing his hands down into his lap.

"It's alright. Let's see if it's a boy or a girl." Carlisle moved the wand over my belly. "Wanna see?" He asked.

"What am I looking at?" I asked. To me it didn't seem like a whole lot.

"This is between the babies legs. From what I can see, you're having a girl." I smiled looking over at Seth. I had never been so excited in my life. I loved raising boys, don't get me wrong, but I was ready to raise a little girl.

"We're having a girl." I giggle covering my mouth looking at Seth. He was smiling but deep down I think he really wanted another boy.

"Are we still planning for a home birth?" Carlisle asked.

"Yes." For me it was no question on whether we would be delivering at home or not. My temperature ran too high and everyone would think I was dying. I liked delivering at home. I was able to be in my place of comfort. I never had to find a babysitter for my other children. Once the baby was out, I could get cleaned up in my own bathroom. I could get into my own clothes, in my own bed and eat the food in my own house.

Carlisle printed us off a few pictures and handed them to Seth.

"You have fun on your trip. I want to hear all about it when you get back." Carlisle kissed both boys on their heads before doing the same to me and sending us on our way.

Back at home I started preparing food for our trip while Seth packed the car. I had the cooler resting beside me so that I could just throw sandwiches and fruit into it. We had done a huge shopping trip the other day preparing for how much food the four of us would eat. I didn't mind stopping and getting food every so often but we couldn't afford to eat out 3 meals a day for two weeks.

The boys were with my parents right now saying goodbye and we would pick them up on our way. Seth came up behind me and pushed himself into me and rested his hands on my belly.

"Are you happy it's a girl?" He asked kissing my neck. I groaned and nodded not trusting my voice. Our deal didn't start until we were in the car but I knew he was going to get me going just to stop so he would win the bet on who could hold out longer. I knew I most likely was going to lose but knowing that he was going to win annoyed me. Not that I would be angry about getting a hot tub-which is what he wants when he wins.

In the last few weeks I felt super energized and my sex drive was higher than it's ever been. I wanted sex all the time. And he knew it and I knew he was going to use it against me.

"Please." I moaned moving my butt into him. "We can get your hot tub just please." I turned in his arms and he lifted me to sit on the counter.

"We haven't left yet." He chuckled taking my shirt off and throwing it behind us. By the time I was done cleaning the kitchen, he had everything in the car and was waiting for me to lock up the house. My parents would be coming over daily to get the mail and make sure no one broke in. I gave mom and Emily keys just incase.

"Ready?" He asked as I got into the car with my pillow and blanket. The boys pillows and blankets were already in the backseat.

"Yup." I smiled. He pulled out of the driveway and headed to my parents. Everyone was outside in the front yard.

"I'm ready!" Koda shouted as soon as he saw us. I got out and scooped him up.

"Did they nap?" I asked. We wanted them to sleep in the car so we were planning on them not taking a nap today hoping that they would sleep for the first half of the car ride.

"No. We played outside the whole time." Mom answered. Finn and Peyton were wrestling with dad watching them with Kuba in his arms. "They did have a few snacks but we didn't give them a full meal."

"That's all right." Seth walked over to dad and took Kuba into his arms who looked exhausted. Seth ran his hand through his hair and down his back as Kuba rested against his chest. "I will text you every few hours so you know we're safe."

"Perfect. I love you. Be safe." She wrapped me in her arms and kissed my cheek.

"We will. Love you." I smiled going to say bye to Dad, Peyton, and Finn. "Where's Ashton?" I asked.

"He's at Ryder's." The pack was still having trouble accepting Ryder back into the pack but mom and dad easily accepted him back into the family. I was still on the fence some days.

"Well tell him we said bye." I smiled getting the boys into the car. Seth got into the driver's seat and pulled out of the driveway. I was a little nervous to be taking this trip with two young boys while also pregnant but Seth seemed confident that nothing could go wrong.

I was excited to bring the boys on a road trip and camp along the way, I just prayed nothing went sideways.
