Cristine had been working all morning making deliveries. She wiped her brow and carried the next delivery out. The box was too big for her to see in front of her. She was caught off guard when her foot missed a step, throwing her off balance. Tires squealed as she was falling. She squeezed her eyes shut thinking the worst when an arm snaked around her waist.
She blinked her eyes open to find Luka smiling above her, cake safely in the other hand. She let out a sigh of relief as he placed her back on her feet. He was wearing a bike helmet, seemed like he was just as busy as she was.
"Thank you so much, Luka," she sighed exhausted and embarrassed.
"No worries. You seem pretty busy, want a ride?" he threw a thumb over his shoulder in the direction of his bike
"Oh no I couldn't you're working," she waved her hands, trying to dismiss the idea.
"It's on the way," he handed her a helmet with a smile and she took it. He tied the box onto the back of his bike and they rode on.
Lila smirked as she snapped a few shots throughout the moments, taking them out of context. She captioned the picture and sent it to every contact she had. She flipped her hair and waited for the cards to fall.
Kagam had just taken a break from fencing practice. He checked his phone, sipping on his water. A message popped up from Lila and he opened it, intrigued. His heart stopped as he saw the picture but he tried not to jump to conclusions. The caption sent his emotions into a tailspin. It read 'what a two-timer'. He threw his phone into the ground, boiling with anger. He knew it wasn't the truth as she wasn't dating anyone but others wouldn't know that. Her reputation would be ruined by a single lie.
He pulled out the rose she'd given him one day after he had told her to take her focus off Luka. A single tear fell as he swiped at it. An akuma fluttered into his broken practice sword.
He rushed to protect his love. He landed in front of the bakery, just as she was coming back from her delivery. She stared at the villain with shock.
"Cristine," she recognized the voice immediately. "I am Onichan and we were made for each other."
"Kagam?!" She stood stock-still in front of the villain. She had no idea why he was akumatized.
"I'll protect you from anyone who tries to harm you. I will protect you from Lila," she showed her the picture from earlier and her eyes widened. She was honestly surprised he wasn't angry with Luka.
"She's not dangerous! She just wants attention. This is what she wanted," Cristine let out stepping closer, hoping to calm the boy.
"She doesn't deserve your attention! She deserves to be punished," He yelled, rushing off into the city.
Marinette watched the scene from her balcony, cursing Lila and her lies. She transformed and chased after the akumatized Kagam and contacted Chat Noir. Cristine chased after Ladybug as fast as she could.
Lila was walking home when she felt eyes on her. "Lila," a voice called out to her menacingly. She looked around but no one was there. She hid beside a building, checking behind her. "Lila," the voice called out again. Onichan appeared in front of Lila, startling her.
"I forbid you to go anywhere near Cristine," he stepped closer to her, pointing his sword at her.
"I-I don't know any Cristine!" Lila put her hands up, defending herself with more lies.
"No more lies," he said through gritted teeth. He grabbed her shoulder as she spouted on.
"Don't you think you should ask the lucky gal what she thinks?" Chat butted in, arms crossed. Onichan slashed his sword in his direction, destroying a car in the process. Ladybug pulled Lila into the park as Chat dodged all his attacks, keeping him busy.
"I didn't need your help, besides that ugly horned boy doesn't stand a chance with her and I was just proving my point," Lila huffed, crossing her arms.
Chat went flying past them, landing on his butt. "Are you really sure I don't stand a chance?" Onichan taunted. Cristine watched from a bush. She didn't want Kagam to make any decisions he would regret. This was indeed Lila's fault but she would fix it.
Onichan rushed to attack Lila and Ladybug stepped in the way, fearing for her sister she threw herself into the mix. Onichan's strike hit her square in the back, knocking her unconscious.
Everyone stood still watching as she fell to the ground. Ladybug ran to her side, cradling her sister in her arms, trying to wake her up. Onichan fell to his knees, dropping his weapon. He ignored the yelling in his head from Hawkmoth.
Lila slowly backed away until she could escape. No one was paying attention to her. "Please⦠just take it," Onichan laid a hand on the unconscious girl's arm, tears forming in his eyes as he begged them. Onichan kicked the weapon towards Chat who broke it with an empathetic look, the akuma fluttering out.
Ladybug handed her sister over to Onichan who cradled her, his tear falling onto her cheek. Ladybug cleansed the akuma and Cristine woke up. Kagam's transformation faded and he guiltily smiled down at her.
"Silly boy, I think I can handle a little lie on my own," He let out a wet, teary chuckle as she rested a hand on his cheek. Ladybug and Chat Noir took their leave from the two lovebirds. Ladybug threw one more worried glance over her shoulder before zipping away.
Kagam struck again, sparring at only half his level, making it easy on his opponent. She attempted to hit him but missed again. His opponent let out a groan and lifted her helmet to get some fresh air.
Cristine had started fencing just a week or so ago and it was much harder than she imagined. Kagam took off his helmet as well and handed her water.
"I'm impressed with how much you've improved," kagam praised her truthfully. She blushed, shaking her head. She knew she was nowhere near his level.
"I'm just trying to be worthy of you," she smiled shyly.
