Randy woke up the next morning. Chase wasn't next to him. He got dressed and went downstairs. He could smell food cooking.
"Babe?* He called.
"I'm in the kitchen." She said.
He went into the kitchen. "This is the biggest kitchen I've ever seen."
"Well you know I love to cook." She said turning to look at him from the stove. She turned back to the stove. "I'm making pancakes."
"You know what this reminds me of?" Randy asked going up behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist.
"What?" She said smiling.
"That time you spent the night with me when we were kids." "You made pancakes then to."
"You remember that?"
"Yeah." "I also remember the exact date of the first time we slept together."
"You do not."
"Why do you think I don't?"
"You're a guy."
"Thanks for telling me."
She laughed. "That's not what I meant you smart ass." "I mean guys are terrible at remembering dates of things." "Not my ex-husband nor any of my ex-boyfriends even remembered an anniversary."
"Do you remember the first time we slept together?"
"Yes but I'm not going to tell you."
"You don't need to because it was April 12th, 1996
"Wow." She said surprised. "That's actually right."
"I know." "Of course I remember the first time we made love."
They just finished breakfast. Chase was getting Randy's plate.
"Come here for a second." Randy said. They kissed. Her cell phone rang.
"That's probably Anna."
"Your assistant?"
"Yeah." She went over and answered it. "Hello?" "Yeah come on over." "See you in a few minutes." They hung up.
Randy stood up. "That was a delicious breakfast baby." "I have to go." "I have to shower and pack." Chase walked Randy to the door. "I'll call you when I get to Charleston."
"Ok."
"Last night was great."
"Yeah it was." "Be safe."
"I will." They kissed.
"Bye."
"Bye." He left.
Twenty minutes later Chase and Anna were in the kitchen.
"So?" Anna said curiously and smiling.
"We did." She said smiling back. "He was amazing." "I don't know what I was so nervous about." "Once we started we just clicked, like we always have."
"Think you guys will get married?" She asked jokingly.
"He did ask me if I'd ever want to get married again last night."
"Just remember your one year rule."
"Don't worry, I don't plan on rushing into anything."
