Chapter 34: Hothead vs Hothead! Bakugo's Inner Spark!

Uraraka's P.O.V

We were all chilling out in the main lobby. Yaomomo just finished making tea and the scent caught my nose. "Wow, the tea smells really nice tonight Momo," I said. "I'm glad you noticed," she said looking up. She looked so pretty when her hair was down.

She was holding up a tea thing that had a strange design, made out of gold. "It's a new kind of tea that my mother sent for me, and its almost impossible to find," she explained, "Gold Tips Imperial. She gave it to me after hearing the news that I started dating somebody." "Looks like you have your mother's approval," I said. "Her approval is all I need," Momo stated, "I don't care what my 'father' has to say about me dating someone he doesn't approve of."

She called to the others. "Everyone, please have a cup if you'd like!" I went to my boyfriend Deku. "Deku, aren't you gonna try some of Momo's tea?" I asked him. I looked down and he was in his otaku boy phase, probably about All Might using a support item.

Luckily I knew how to get him out of it. I kissed his cheek and he returned to normal. "…I was muttering again wasn't I?" He asked. I giggled to myself. "Tea?" "Oh thank you," Deku said as he accepted it. Bakugo noticed us with scratches. "What happened to you two?" He asked. "We got in a fight," we said in unison. "Tch," he said as he walked upstairs. "What's eating Master Exploder?" Sato asked.

"He's got a challenge tomorrow with Sanjay," Han said walking in. He was sweaty because of a training match he had. "A challenge?" Kirishima said, "Well that's manly of him."

"Yeah, I offered a sparring match with him which he accepted," Han admitted, "When it comes to a one on one fight, he doesn't mess around." We saw that his hair was almost torched. "Well at least he's not the only hot head we know," Kirishima said jokingly. I saw Deku looking at his notebook. He had written down notes on HeatStreak and his quirk. "Ochako could you excuse me for a minute?" He asked.

Deku's P.O.V

I walked up to Bakugo's room and quietly tapped on his door. "Who is it?" He asked. "Its Midoriya," I said. "Come on," he said deadpanned. I came up with a cup of tea. "Momo made some for everybody, and I figured you'd want some, after that training match," I said. He took the cup. "Listen, I apologize if I seem pissy, which I normally am," he began, "I just had a lot on my mind."

"Like what?" I asked. He looked at me. "I'd rather not get into the nitty-gritty of everything if you don't mind." I smiled and said, "Understandable." "So why do you do all of this?" He asked. I was confused at first. "I just do what any pro hero would do," I said, "I fight for the…."

"I'm not talking about your reason for being a pro hero dumbass," Bakugo interrupted, "I'm talking about this. Why are you being so kind to me?" "Because you're my classmate," I said, "I know we haven't been the best of friends but, that doesn't mean I don't care about your wellbeing." Bakugo chuckled.

"I think I might have hit you too hard during our little match." "I'm being serious Bakugo," I said, "As far as I'm concerned you got what it takes to be a pro hero, even if you are… you know." He playfully punched my shoulder. "Listen, if something's bothering you, don't shut us out," I said, "Let us in, because we wanna help you." He thought for a moment. "Well, I suppose I can tell you one thing, but keep this a secret from Round Face, Shitty Hair, and the rest of them." "Sure," I said as I nodded. "So… I think I like Starla." "Well, of course, everybody likes her, she's a…." I started. "No, I mean….. I like her, like her," Bakugo stated.

"Ooooooohhhhhh," I said, "Well that's understandable." I held out my notebook. "So I heard you had your challenge against HeatStreak tomorrow, and I figured I could help you out." I turned the pages to a spot where I took notes on HeatStreak.

"I figured these might help against the fight and give you an advantage," I said, "Looks like he likes to flex whenever he does one of his fancy moves. Maybe you could use that as his downfall." Bakugo smiled. "Thanks, nerd," he said.

Later I went back to the lobby to see Ochako and the others talking with Eri. "Eri, I think someone wants to say hi!" Mina said pulling me towards the screen. "Papa!" She said excited to see me. I smiled looking at her. "Hey there Snowflake," I said, "Are you being a good girl?" She nodded. "Auntie Midnight's staying with me and Grandma Inko," she said as she smiled, "She taught me how to draw too."

She showed me a picture of me and Ochako. The two of us were standing on top of a villain victorious with crowds cheering. The text said "Deku and Uravity: My Heroes." Tears began to fall from my eyes. "Do you like it, Papa?" She asked. I nodded and said, "So much. Thank you, Eri. If you were here right now, I'd give you such a big hug." Eri hugged the screen. "I love you, Papa and Mama." "We love you too sweetie," Ochako said while she was hugging me. The video chat ended with everyone saying bye.

Bakugo's P.O.V

Today was the day. My challenge against HeatStreak. I just hope the nerd's notes helped out. I was walking up to the stage where Sanjay was. He was doing his usual flex warm up. "Well, looks like Master Exploder actually showed up," he said. "The name's Ground Zero," I said, "And why wouldn't I show up to a challenge?" "Because you're about to see why I consider myself superior."

He looked to Starla and winked at her setting me off inside. Luckily Starla wasn't amused and simply scoffed. Round face and Midoriya gave me a thumbs up and I did a small smile.

The stage began to rise up and we were both in a huge stadium similar to the training grounds. Stretch kid (Han) and blondie (Melissa) were watching from the other side. "I hope your training helped him," she said.

"I'm sure it did," he commented.

A referee came to us. "The rules are simple, you get thrown off the ring, you lose," he said, "And no attacks that could injure someone." I put my fists together. "I think I can manage," I commented. "3, 2, 1, FIGHT!"

Sanjay rushed towards me and I evaded him by moving to the left. I remembered one of the notes that Midoriya wrote about him, how he would start with a right hook. "Ok, so you can evade my attacks well," Sanjay commented, "But can you avoid this?"

He started to spin around doing one of his special moves; The Fire Lariat. This was a hard hitting move in which he would spin around trying to get his opponents with multiple punches.

I moved back and decided to use the ropes to my advantage. I jumped on one of them and moved around like a pinball whilst evading Sanjay. Deku was watching and smiled. "He's learning the technique!" Sanjay stopped spinning and saw me sitting on the ropes. "What are you doin' over there!?" He assked. "Keeping my distance, that's what," I answered, "That's a nice outfit. Did your girlfriend make it for you?"

A vein popped in his forehead. He closed his arms together and fire was coming out. "Now you'll see what I'm made of." He lunged at me and I moved to the right and then gave him a few good punches to the back before doing an uppercut knocking him backwards. Starla was watching me.

"Ok, that was just a warm up, and the claws out are out!" He showed off his claws which looked like tiger claws. He did a technique where he did some claw combinations making some kind of lines of fire and forced them at me.

I ran towards it and did a dive narrowly evading the hot flames.

As soon as I looked up I was grabbed into a bear hold.

"Now you'll see why I call myself a true wrestler," he said. He threw me at the ropes. When I bounced back he did a lariat at me, and I was pushed back into the ropes. When I came back to him again he did a powerful uppercut sending me into the air. Sanjay then jumped up and once he was at my level, he did a moonsault attack forcing me back down. Some of his comrades cheered for him while I quickly got back up.

He came at me again and I blocked his attack. When I saw an opening, I countered with an AP shot pushing him away. He was tough I'll give him that, but I wasn't going down that easily! "I'm not done yet," I said. I threw a small grenade at the ground making smoke to cover the arena. It was time for a technique the nerd suggested; The Element of Surprise. I quickly lunged at at Sanjay when he couldn't see and punched him in the face. I came around again doing a kick to the arm.

As the smoke started to clear, Sanjay saw me. I was still full of energy despite what he did. He charged at me for one more blow hoping to knock me off the stage and I used my legs to keep him away. He managed to punch me in the face, and then hit me again. I fell to the floor. Sanjay then ran fast and got into a lunge position. I saw an opportunity.

Using my legs, I kept him from touching me, and then forced him off the stage and into the water. The crowd begun to cheer. "We have a winner!" The referee shouted. He raised my hand up. "Ladies and gentlemen give it up for the new champion, Katsuki Bakugo!" I grinned in victory.

Later I was in the back wetting myself with a towel as I was sweaty. The nerd and Round Face came to the back. "Congrats on your win Kacchan," Midoriya exclaimed. "Thanks," I said deadpanned, "However it was your plan that got me the win. So if anything I should be thanking you."

"Don't mention it," he replied, "I'm surprised you held some restraint with your quirk this time." I looked and saw Starla rush into me with a hug. "You were great out there!" She said, "I guess my good luck charm helped you out there!" "Good luck charm?" Pinky (Mina) asked, "Maybe you could…. Give it to me so I can win in the next sports fest?"

Starla and I looked at each other and couldn't hold in our laughter. We bursted out laughing and the others were confused. "Mina, if I gave you the good luck charm that I gave Bakugo I doubt you'd wanna be my friend anymore." "Well all the other girls are gonna come knocking at your door asking for an autograph, or even to go on a date with you," Shitty-hair said patting my back.

Starla cleared her throat. "About that….." Everyone else was confused for a moment. "Wait! You guys are dating?!" They all shouted. "We're actually going on a date right now," I said, "I planned to keep this a secret, but I guess the cat's out of the bag." Midoriya patted my back. "Well good for you," he said. I fake laughed and placed is hand off my shoulder. "Never. Touch me." I said. "Point taken," he said. I took Starla's hand in mine and we started to walk.

3rd Person P.O.V

Sanjay was burning a picture of Bakugo. "Who the hell does that punk think he is?" He asked himself. One of his classmates was hanging another photo. "Does he….. A little to the left." The student moved the photo and Sanjay burned it with a punch. "….Have ANY IDEA on who he just picked a fight with?!" He finished, "I was the one on top, and he takes my spot as the champ!" He started pacing around trying to hatch a scheme for vengeance.

"That Bakugo kid…. I think he's got something to hide, and I might use it," he said, "I need you two to go and do some recon. Find out what his life was like, where he went to school, whatever else you can find about him." "But where would we look?" Asked one of his classmates, "We don't even know where he currently goes now." Sanjay remembered something. Bakugo was with the students that came to U.A. "Well I think I know where," he said. He got a phone and a voice changer. He dialed the phone number to U.A High School and called the principal. "Hello, he said in his disguised voice, "I'd like to have some information delivered about Katsuki Bakugo. We have an offer from him for a….. hero agency."

Uh oh… Looks like Sanjay is cooking up a scheme to get even with Bakugo. What could he want with his background information? And what of the mysterious Aura Phantom? Stay tuned….
