Pastry Love
Harry put the mittens on Teddy's hand and cast a mild, child-friendly, sticking charm on them so he couldn't shake them off. It was snowing outside, and he didn't want the little boy to get cold.
It was the first time Andromeda had let him take Teddy for a whole weekend, and he didn't want to let her down.
He placed the little boy in his pushchair, cooing random words at him as he did so, smiling down when Teddy giggled up at him, clearly pleased to be going out.
They weren't going far, just to the cafe down the road, but Harry was excited to show off his godson regardless.
…
The snow fell around them, and Teddy was mesmerised by it. Harry kept looking down to check on him, and everytime it did, it brought a smile to his face to see the little boy waving his mitten covered hands in the air, trying to catch the snowflakes.
They reached the cafe, and the door was held open for Harry to push the pushchair inside.
Harry blushed when he realised it was Kingsley holding the door.
"Hey Kingsley, what are you doing here?" He asked, as he pushed the chair through the open doorway.
"Coming to see you actually," Kingsley replied, as Harry parked Teddy up and took a seat at the empty table. "I just called in here to pick up your favourites."
He held a bag up as evidence, and Harry smiled.
"Well, maybe you should sit here and eat them with us, instead," he offered. "And you can tell me what you were coming to see me about."
"I'm not allowed to just visit you?" Kingsley asked, smirking.
Harry felt his cheeks heat for a second time, and glanced away. Sometimes, he was sure that Kingsley knew Harry was harbouring a crush on him, and other times, he was certain that the older man had no idea.
"You can visit whenever you want," he allowed. "But you don't normally, unless you have a reason."
"You've got me there," Kingsley agreed. "I, uh. Well. I was actually hoping to take you out to dinner."
Harry blinked. "What?"
"It's been mentioned to me that my pining is getting rather ridiculous, and that I should just ask you on a date. So. That's me. Doing that."
Harry stared at him for a long moment, long enough that Kingsley shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
"I, uh, I'd like that," Harry replied, eventually. "A lot. It's going to have to wait until next week though. I have Teddy for the whole weekend."
Kingsley nodded. "Of course. I'll pick you up on Monday, at seven?"
Harry grinned. "Perfect. Um. You'll stay now though, right? For coffee and uh… whatever you have in that bag?"
Kingsley smiled. "I'd love to."
