Chapter 22: Waiting
Nia sat in the hospital waiting room next to the room where the doctors were trying to help Rex. The other gangs were also in the waiting room, but Nia was sitting away from them. However, Jin was being kept somewhere else. The cops took him with them. Nia heard something about Jin having committed attempted murder. Nia was a bit hazy on the details, but then again she didn't know jack about the law.
After what felt like an eternity, the head doctor stepped out of the room where they were working on Rex. Nia immediately looked up at him. "Is he okay? Will he make it?" Nia asked.
The doctor sighed and shook his head. "He lost a lot of blood on the way over. Chances are, he won't make him. I heard you two were close."
"I loved him." Nia said quietly.
The doctor nodded. "In that case, he might like to spend his last moments beside someone he loved."
Nia felt herself beginning to cry. That is probably what he would have wanted. Nia stood up. "Can I go in now?"
"The doctor nodded and stepped aside, letting Nia go in. As soon as she was inside, the doctor closed the door behind her, leaving Nia alone with Rex.
Hello again! I just want to say that my entries might take a little longer than usual now. Why? Because life's being a bitch. Oh, and I'm also working on another project!
