Hey there, everyone! How are you all doing this Halloween? You all having fun? Sure hope so. This is the one and only SuperHeroTimeFan with a brand-new Chapter for my series of short stories of the Ahsoka Saga, JOTK One-Shots! I'm glad to be back for all of you. Sorry I didn't update sooner, but I have been really busy, since I was busy with college, graduating, finding a job, moving from my old home to my new one, and trying to work on my new job. It has been very taxing, but with the Corona Virus going around, I have found more time for myself, and that means I get more time to write, and to do new stories, but those are for another day. I have also been helping out other authors with their stories too, but I am back now, and I thank you all for being there to support me. It all means a lot to someone who has been worked very hard through the year. Thank you all very much. Now, with no questions to be answered this time, here is my new Chapter! Please be sure to review, rate, and as always, please be sure to enjoy!
Chapter 27: The Mark of a Hero
Note: Read only after reading the new Journey of the Knight: Honor Bound Chapter.
In Memory of Dennis O'Neil (May 3rd, 1939 - June 11th, 2020)
After the trip to Nevarro, as well as learning about the secret story of Xion's most heroic act, Ahsoka and the rest of the Young Justice were back on the Equinox. While the Young Justice were resting from their last mission there, Ahsoka was in the Bioship, her Master's first lightsaber held out in front of her in midair.
Ahsoka took a deep breath as she held her meditative position. Slowly, the activator and emitter were removed, and new parts were added to it. Eventually, a new activator was lifted from the pile of parts Ahsoka had with her, and they started to float into place where they needed to go. Focusing on what the lightsaber needed to look like, all of the pieces started to connect.
Within a few minutes, the changes to the lightsaber were now complete. The black color of the activator matrix had now been made silver, with a ring tuning flange on the emitter, making it resemble Anakin's own lightsaber. Opening her eyes and floating back to the ground, she looked to the newly customized lightsaber and held her hand out, grabbing it. With a press on the activator, a blue blade, as it always had, sprung to life.
"This is now my own weapon," Ahsoka said to herself before deactivating the blade. She turned around and walked out, where Anakin was waiting for her. Upon seeing him looking at her lightsaber, she picked it up. "I hope you don't mind," she said. "But since you passed this lightsaber onto me, I thought I should make my own changes to it."
"Of course," Anakin said. "After all, as I said before, that weapon is my life. Now, my life is in your hands." He said with a smile.
"Well, I do take after you." Ahsoka said with a chuckle as she showed off the modified lightsaber.
"I like this look better anyways." Anakin stated.
"Glad you do," Ahsoka said before Admiral Jan Dodonna walked towards her and Anakin. "Oh, Admiral. Good to see you again." She said.
"We have been seeing each other for a while now, General Tano." Jan Dodonna said.
"Well, for some reason, it's felt like years since I've seen you in the flesh," Ahsoka said. "So, have we reached our destination yet?"
"We have just entered the Vortex, and are making our way to Earth now," Jan Dodonna reported. "We should be there within the hour."
"Okay," Ahsoka said with a nod. "Let me know when we get there," she said as she walked to her quarters. "I need to rest after the long mission we had." She said before the door to her quarters closed.
"She really is amazing." Anakin said.
"We need more Jedi like her." Jan Dodonna said in agreement.
In Ahsoka's quarters, Ahsoka was resting, her boots removed. She laid down on her bed, looking to the ceiling. As she did, she removed the Xiphon from her belt and looked to it. As she did, she felt a presence enter the room and smiled.
"You never told us what Nyx said about you, you know." Ahsoka said.
Sonia, in her Force Spirit form, chuckled and walked towards Ahsoka. "Let's just say that was an adventure that slipped my mind at the moment," she said with a chuckle, "But now, you know more about my past. I guess I was too afraid to show that side of me when I was still Xion."
"Your kindness is your own strength, Sonia," Ahsoka said as she looked to the Xiphon. She sighed and activated its black blade. "To think, that even before the Battle for Tython, this lightsaber was used for good," she said. "I'm sorry, but even after your sacrifice, it was still hard to believe."
"Nyx and I had a connection," Sonia said. "I couldn't bear to see him and the rest of that village suffer, so I took the stand, despite not being a Jedi," she explained. "And come the Battle of Tython, I guess I figured out what it meant."
"You always were a Jedi, Sonia," Ahsoka said before deactivating the black blade. "Don't ever think otherwise."
"I guess you're right," Sonia said with a chuckle. "And you're sure about this decision?"
"Yes," Ahsoka said with a nod. "I should have done this the moment your funeral was held. I guess I never did it… because of my opinion of your past actions at the time."
"Well, whatever decision you come to…" Sonia said as she walked up to Ahsoka, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Know that you are making the right one, no matter what."
Ahsoka smiled. "Thanks, Sonia." She said.
Soon, the Equinox came out of hyperspace and flew just outside of the Watchtower. The Hangar Bay opened, and the Bioship flew out.
Landing at Sonia's grave, Sylas was also present. He watched as the Young Justice made their way over.
"Sonia certainly is a magnificent girl," Sylas said as Ahsoka knelt down, placing the Xiphon at the grave marker. "She'd be proud of all that we have done in her name."
"I think you would be too, once you learned what she did at one point," Ahsoka said as she straightened out the Xiphon. "For those who wish to honor Sonia Sky in the future… I leave this for you." She said before closing her eyes.
The Young Justice and Sylas all watched as the Xiphon started to slowly sink into the ground, Ahsoka burying it with the Force. Soon, it made its way down below the grave, and the soil sealed up the hole.
Satisfied, Ahsoka got back up, and watched as Sonia's spirit looked to her.
"Thank you, Ahsoka… the new Fulcrum." Sonia said before she turned to her father.
"I am fixing the ORDER, Sonia," Sylas said. "All for what you did to save everyone… all in your name."
"I know, Father," Sonia said as she walked up to her father, hugging him. He smiled and hugged back. "Know that I will always love you and Mother." She said before disappearing again.
Ahsoka smiled as she got up. "If you want to learn about what Sonia did… go to Nevarro, and find a man named Nyx Okami," she told him. "There is an adventure that Sonia had… one that I am sure will make you prouder than you were before."
"Thank you, Ahsoka…" Sylas said with a smile. "May the Force be with you."
"Always." Ahsoka said with a nod.
Soon, Sylas took off in his fighter towards Nevarro while the rest of the Young Justice made their way through the Vortex to their next mission.
Several Years Later…
Asomei M'orzz walked up to Sonia's grave and knelt down. She took a deep breath and used the Force. Soon, the Xiphon started to rise up, with Sonia watching over her.
"Through Jedi like you and Ahsoka… I shall always live on."
Author's Notes: Well, everyone, what did you think of my new Chapter? The beginning was the original start to my new Journey of the Knight: Honor Bound Chapter, but I forgot about it until today. The end, minus the fast-forward to the future, was originally the ending of my new Chapter too. I hope you liked this short Chapter nonetheless. Please review, rate, and as always, if you can, Private Message me for anything on the story. After all, I'm always keen to hear from you, so long as what you have to say is positive.
