I'm very sorry about the long update wait. I've been under a lot of stress this week and distance learning for school is really different..I've been trying to figure things out and I have a surprisingly large amount of homework. Please please keep in mind while you're waiting that I might only be able to update weekly because my workload is getting bigger.
I'm also very very upset. I don't know if you guys heard or not, but the miraculous fandom is very conflicted and people are literally plunging into an ML fandom war with Thomas Astruc (the director) and it's really hurtful of how toxic people are being. People are bullying thomas astruc harder than EVER!
This has been going on for a long time but it's going wayyyy overboard. People are criticising the show, pointing out the bad things, comparing it to other shows, sending death threats to Thomas, and creating extremely hurtful hate threads on Twitter. All this toxic behavior is really going too far...it's seriously discouraging me... :( If you see those "Thomas hates Adrien?", "Thomas will never make Adrienette happen?" or "Miraculous has horrible ship development!" videos on youtube, I'm BEGGING you, PLEASE do not watch them. People are leaving the fandom because of all this, and I feel pretty deflated too...but I would never in a million years leave the fandom.
I don't know why the hell people are being like this...if they don't like the show, then they should get lost instead of ruining it for other people. Even though all these toxic threads are being created all over social media, I just wanted to tell ya'll to stick with the fandom...show your support by following #SaveThomasAstruc on twitter if you have twitter to help save Thomas Astruc and end all this crap.
One more thing: My friend is having writers block for this story, so I will be doing this alone the next few chapters, but I'll let you know when she comes back. :)

But we might see it in the future-I haven't really thought ahead but there is possibility it might happen, but I'm not sure yet. It would make a good plot twist though. Thanks for the idea! ;) I ship Lukanette but not Adrigami.

Chapter 42: Simon Says part 2
"Cause I live there," Adrien grinned. "I almost got caught.."
Cat Noir: Uh... In a house like this... it's a given!
Gabriel: They won't get in. This house is built like a fortress.
Scene: Outside the mansion.
Simon Says: Simon says, destroy! (throws bull cards at the hypnotized people, and they knock the gate down)
Alya frowned. "Even if they are controlled by Simon Says, how would they just bust down the gate? There's only so much a person can do, I mean."
Adrien shrugged. "I'm guessing it's because of his power, because no normal person would be able to knock the gate down."
Scene: Gabriel's atelier
(The lights are off)
Announcer: Emergency power on.
(The lights are back on)
Cat Noir: There are too many of them. Your defense system is failing!
"Maybe he should have just listened to us," Adrien gritted his teeth.
Ladybug: Adrien and Nino! I better go get them!
Gabriel: Here, Nathalie. Pick the controls in case you need to unlock an exit. She's coming with you.
"How does he stay so calm?" Marinette shook her head. "It's pretty impressive, actually."
Cat Noir: I'll reinforce the outer defenses. Go hide in the atrium. It's not safe in here.
Gabriel: No one tells me what to do. Not even a superhero.
"Come on!" Nino scowled. "They're trying to PROTECT you!"
Kim nodded. "This isn't right, he should just listen to them."
"It's not a good situation so this isn't the time to get stubborn," Alya added.
"That's my father all right," Adrien said bitterly.
Cat Noir: You're in danger, like everyone else! (takes the other control) So stop pretending you're above us all, just do what I tell you to!
Everyone sucked in a breath. Adrien turned red.
"YOU GO, SUNSHINE BOY!" Abby yelled, appearing.
Adrien blushed to his roots. "I probably shouldn't have said that to my father but-"
The class's shock wore off and they howled in laughter.
"That was pure gold, dude!" Nino whistled.
"Let him know you won't be taking anymore crap!" Chloe smirked.
Marinette laughed. "That was savage!"
"Well, not Marinette level savage but still-that was amazing, Adrien," Alix snickered.
Adrien blushed harder. "I really shouldn't have-"
"No, you had every right to say that," Marinette said firmly. "He was getting on my nerves too."
Adrien grinned. "But you should have seen the look on his face."
(Gabriel and Cat Noir are shocked)
"That was priceless!" Marinette laughed.
Gabriel: Quite a temper. You remind me of someone.
"Probably because he's the same person you're thinking of," Marinette laughed.
(Cat Noir exits the room. Gabriel looks at a picture of Emilie.)
Marinette looked at the screen in surprise. "Or not!"
"Actually, I thought he was talking about me too," Adrien confessed.
Scene: Outside the mansion. The hypnotized people are invading.
Hawk Moth: I don't think that's a good idea, Simon Says.
Simon Says: Gabriel is here!
Hawk Moth: Yes, but don't forget our deal. I feel Ladybug and Cat Noir nearby. Once you've got them in front of you, you'll be able to honor our agreement. Just take their jewels, the Miraculouses.
"That's all he even cares about," said Adrien. "You know, sometimes I feel like after he gets the miraculous, he'll de-akumatize the villain and not keep his promise."
Marinette nodded. "That's true, or he wouldn't make such stupid akumatizations like Mr Piegon."
Simon Says: It's as good as done. Simon says we'll defeat them!
"Ladybug says no-no," Marinette grinned, making everybody laugh.
Scene: Agreste mansion. Ladybug and Nathalie enter Adrien's room.
Nino: Ladybug! What's going down?
Ladybug: We need to move to safer ground. Where is Adrien?
Nino: Taking a shower.
Ladybug: Now?
Nino: It's the model in him.
Ladybug: Take Nino to the atrium. I'll take care of Adrien. Leave the remote control with me. (Nathalie gives her the remote control; Ladybug knocks on the bathroom door) A-drien? Adrien! (Cat Noir enters the bathroom and hears her. He turns the shower on) Eeee!
Adrien: (Pokes his head around the corner) Yeah?
Ladybug: Oh! Must... it-eh, to go! He he. Too dangerous... to leave!
The class nearly died in laughter.
Marinette burned red. "Adrien!"
He grinned. "What?"
"I thought I ACTUALLY walked in on you showering, I literally thought you were.." her voice trailed off. She looked so flustered that it was hilarious.
Adrien laughed. "Well, I wasn't. But it was definitely fun to make you think that."
Marinette turned away, blushing harder. "All this time I thought that you were REALLY there!"
"Disappointed?"
"What?! I-No, of course not!"
Adrien: Can I put on my clothes first?
Adrien laughed and Marinette shoved him.
Ladybug: Sure! If you must... I-I mean, of course you can. (shuts the bathroom door)
Everybody was nearly dying of laughter by now.
"If-If you must-" Alya managed.
"Did you actually say that?" Alix wiped a tear from her eye.
Marinette blushed furiously. "I-Oh, come on..you all know I can't help myself.."
Adrien smirked. "I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean but I get a good feeling."
Marinette shoved him. "I'm still mad at you for making me think you were actually in the shower that day! Do you realize how awkward that was for me?"
(Both sigh of relief)
Scene: Gabriel's atelier. Nathalie and Nino go to where Gabriel is.
Gabriel: Where's my son?
Nino: He'll be here. He's with Ladybug.
Gabriel: Mhm.
Scene: Adrien's room. Ladybug sees there is a picture of Emilie on the computer.
Ladybug: (gasps)
(He goes to his bedroom with the towel around his neck)
Marinette sighed. "You even used a towel! Seriously?" Adrien grinned sheepishly.
Adrien: My mother on her 17th birthday. She was pretty, huh?
"Yeah, she's really pretty," Marinette squeezed his hand. "I'm not surprised she's your mom."
Adrien blushed. Then, he recollected himself. "Yeah, well..someday you'll be Mrs. Agreste."
Marinette let go of his hand and froze, turning as red as her Ladybug suit while the rest of the class dissolved in loud laughter.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have said that," Adrien grinned sheepishly.
"NO!" Alya yelled. "That was PRICELESS, Agreste!"
"Do more like that and we'll see Marinette squirm all day!" Alix jumped in, laughing.
"I'll be Mrs. Agreste as long as we have a hamster," said Marinette, finally coming back to her senses.
Adrien's grin was enormous. "Deal! But why not cats?"
"You think having ONE cat isn't annoying enough?" Marinette teased.
Adrien scowled. "Hey!...Wait actually, that's true."
Adrien and Ladybug: She's... got your eyes. Huh?
"That is too cute!" Alya sighed. "And wait..aren't your eyes different colors?"
"Yeah, but we weren't just talking about the color," Marinette explained.
(The hypnotized people invade the mansion)
Ladybug: (Pushes Adrien in the bathroom) Stay here! (closes the door)
Plagg: Oh my! What was that all about? Sweet love?
"He's onto something," Alya teased.
(Adrien blushes then he shakes his head)
Adrien: ...Gotta help her!
"Sweet love?" Plagg repeated, smirking.
"Sweet love," Marinette agreed, laughing.
[ Transformation Sequence ]
Adrien: Plagg, claws out! (Adrien transforms into Cat Noir)
Plagg: Oh, not again!
"Plagg, that's not-" Tikki bagan.
Plagg yawned. "Give me a break, Sugarcube!"
Scene: Gabriel's atelier.
Gabriel: Are they coming?
(Nathalie tries to keep the door locked, but the hypnotized people knock it open)
Simon Says: Gotcha.
Adrien sighed. "If he had just listened to us.."
(Meanwhile, Cat Noir arrives at the ceiling, but the hypnotized people are out to get him. Ladybug, in Adrien's room, is dodging them. She goes to Gabriel's room, but sees nobody there. Cat Noir appears in the window and also sees the empty room with knocked-over paintings and the security terminal.)
Cat Noir: Well, that's just great.
Scene: TVi Studio.
Simon Says: Welcome to another exciting hour of "The Challenge"! Good evening again from Simon Says. Viewers, I've kept my promise. Here's Gabriel!
"Even after what your dad did, I feel that this is a bit harsh," Nino shook his head. "It probably would have been easier and faster if they had just sorted it out...but as usual, Hawkmoth had to come ruin everything."
(Gabriel appears, the Gorilla accompanying him.)
Simon Says: Simon says... you are a butterfly! (throws a butterfly card at him)
Gabriel: (Stars flapping with his arms and jumping around.) Flap flap, flutter flutter, flutter flutter, flap flap!
Even Adrien couldn't help but laugh along with his classmates this time. Gabriel the butterfly...
Chloe stifled out a laugh. "Your dad looks like he's been waiting to do this his whole life."
Adrien grinned. "Maybe he has!"
Ladybug: We've gotta save Mr. Agreste!
Simon Says: Tomorrow, Butterfly, you will be no more.
Ladybug: The akuma's gotta be in one of those cards.
Cat Noir: But which one? There are so many of'em.
"Putting the akuma in one of the many cards? Dude, that's just cruel," Nino shook his head.
(Ladybug and Cat Noir enter the studio)
Simon Says: Ladybug, Cat Noir, you can save him by giving me your Miraculouses. Do the right thing...
Ladybug: In your dreams. Lucky Charm! (Throws the yo-yo into the air and another yo-yo appears)
"Don't you already have one?" asked Alya.
Cat Noir: A regular yo-yo? But you've got a magical one!
"Yeah!"
Ladybug: I'll figure it out later.
Simon Says: Simon says... your yo-yo is useless! (throws a card at the yo-yo and it falls to the floor, the 'unbreakable' cord snaps. Cat Noir knocks his card over) Simon says... your stick is…
"Hey, maybe that's what the other yoyo is for!" Nino exclaimed.
Marinette nodded. "Yeah, you're right."
Cat Noir: Useless? I don't think so. I'm not gonna let you get a word in edgewise!
(Cat Noir is fighting Simon Says while Ladybug is ripping up the cards, to see if the akuma is in one of them)
Simon Says: Simon says...
Cat Noir: (taunting) Na-na-na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
Everybody laughed.
"That won't stop him," Marinette pointed out.
Adrien smiled. "Just having some fun.."
Simon Says: It doesn't matter whether you can hear me or not, all that is important is what Simon says! Simon says remove your Miraculous and give it to me!
(Cat Noir avoids the cards and pushes Ladybug away from them.)
Gabriel: ...Flap, flutter, flutter, flap...
Simon Says: Simon says... take off like an airplane! (Throws an airplane card at him and he starts acting like an airplane, he runs out the room, making airplane-noises)
"Is he going to jump off the roof or something?" Nino asked, trying not to laugh.
Cat Noir: He's headed for the roof. We got to stop him.
(Ladybug stops him by grabbing his tail)
Ladybug: This is our last chance to capture the akuma and I can't do it alone! If we free Simon Says, we free Mr. Agreste too!
Cat Noir: Then let's not waste another minute.
"I understand now why you were so determined," said Marinette.
Simon Says: And how will you defeat me without your yo-yo?
(Gabriel enters the roof and starts running around like an airplane.)
Adrien winced.
Simon Says: Simon says... it's over! (throws black cards at them, but Cat Noir hits them with his baton)
Ladybug: Follow my lead.
Simon Says: Simon says...
(Ladybug knocks the deck of cards out of Simon Says' hands with the regular yo-yo. Cat Noir steps on the yo-yo and uses his Cataclysm to disintegrate the cards. He throws the deck to Ladybug, who throws it on the ground. The akuma flies off)
Simon Says: That's not possible! I made your yo-yo useless!
Ladybug: This one yes (she holds up her normal yo-yo), but not that one (she holds up her Lucky charm yo-yo). Miraculous Ladybug!
"How is the lucky charm supposed to know what will happen in the future?" Alya frowned.
Marinette shrugged. "It's magic."
(Ladybug throws the Lucky Charm into the air and its energy de-hypnotizes the people. Gabriel gets dehypnotized right before he's about to jump of the TVi tower, he gulps and walks backwards.)
Adrien burst out laughing. "The look on his face is too amazing!"
Ladybug: My yo-yo! No more evildoing for you, little akuma. Time to de-evilize! (catches the akuma with her yo-yo) Gotcha! (releases the de-evilized akuma) Bye bye, little butterfly.
(Simon Says is turned back into Simon)
Ladybug and Cat Noir: Pound it!
(They go to the roof and see Gabriel.)
Cat Noir: I'm afraid your flight's been canceled, sir.
Alix snorted. "Nice way to phrase it."
Gabriel: You?
Cat Noir: Prefer Ladybug? Can't say I blame you. (He puts his arm around Ladybug's shoulder. Their Miraculouses beep)
"Is this another indirect way of flirting with me?" Marinette sighed.
Ladybug: Cat Noir, your ring! You better get out of here. (She sees his ring)
Cat Noir: Like a cat on a hot tin roof. See you again soon, Mr. Agreste. (He shakes hands with Gabriel, who looks at Cat Noir's ring) And you, m'lady. (He bows to Ladybug then he runs away)
Gabriel: Hmm...
Scene: Adrien's room. Adrien is looking at the pictures of his mother on the phone with Plagg sitting on Adrien's shirt while they are facing the window.
(Plagg hears the door opening so he hides in Adrien's button down shirt)
(Gabriel comes and hugs him. Adrien looks very surprised. Gabriel notices his ring)
Everyone held their breath. A moment like this with this certain father-son relationship was obviously precious to the show-and Adrien.
Gabriel: I've never noticed your ring before.
Adrien's gaze faltered. It was becoming more and more suspicious..
Adrien: Is that the only thing you've never noticed about me?
Gabriel: I'm glad everything worked out for the best.
"He never actually answered the question," said Max.
(When Gabriel leaves Adrien's room, Plagg appears on Adrien's shirt when he is concerned after Adrien and his father hugged each other)
Adrien looked down and Marinette glanced at him for a second, about to say something. She stopped herself and settled for continuing to watch the show.
Scene: TVi Studio. The Challenge is on the air again.
Alec: Welcome back to everyone's #1 game show, The Challenge! Last week, our cool DJ friend Nino won the challenge. So, let's welcome him back again. Come on out, DJ Nino! (Nino enters the stage)
"What happened to that other guy?" Nino asked.
"I don't think he came back," Marinette shrugged,
Tom: Looks like you weren't absent or late all week! Excellent news, Marinette. You can go join your friends on the set.
"How?" Adrien asked, amazed.
Marinette: I think I'd rather watch with you guys. That's... if you and Mom'd like that?
(Marinette hugs her parents)
Alec: (on TV) So we upped the challenge for you tonight, Nino. You're gonna have to get two celebrities dancing instead of one! However, this time, you can choose your opponents.
Nino: Oh, I've got this one in the bag. I'm gonna pick two buds I know won't let me down. Ladybug and Cat Noir!
Marinette: (gasps) Uh... On second thought, I'm wiped. I'm gonna take a nap. Don't wanna be late for school tomorrow! And, you know, mess up that perfect school record! Tell me what happens, 'kay?
"Make up your mind, girl!" Alya laughed.
"Yeah, how many times will you change your mind?" Nino teased.
Marinette blushed. "You know perfectly well why I did that!"
Tom: Sure.
Sabine: Of course, honey.
Chloe snorted. "They actually fell for that?"
Tom: Sometimes I just can't figure that girl out.
Sabine: Oh, give her a break. You know there's nothing more demanding than going to school! (hugs Tom)
"Nothing at all," said Marinette sarcastically.
(Ladybug goes to the roof, and swings her way to the studio.)
