Eventually the situation between them was resolved peacefully, with me questioning Megumin why a Creeper pyramid was carrying a stick. She more or less explained it and I promptly shut down the competition and requesting Bruce to send up a pair of Zombies to do the job. Today was the lesson I learned that Creepers followed orders but liked to put their own spin on it.
My fishing wasn't very successful but I suppose that's due to my fishing rod not being enchanted at all. The loot was mainly boring stuff like fish and water bottles, the real loot I expected today was going to be what the Zombies mined up. I left the pile of fish and things I caught for the pair I called to get and went over to the ground base, eager to see how many diamonds I acquired.
I did have them mine 11 blocks above bedrock so the profitable y 12 would be directly at their head level, I decided that strip mining would be the best way of doing this as it would cover the most ground with a single pickaxe.
The chests were absolutely full of junk blocks like cobblestone and granite but for every 3 stacks of that their were a stack of resources. Minus diamonds and emeralds though, I rummaged through the chests to find all 45 diamonds and 14 emeralds.
All without me swinging a single pickaxe.
Is this how government people feel when they collect tax money?
I don't know if that sentence makes any kind of sense but holy heck I had a great mining force.
And we all know what happens when we are given a great power, further empower it with magical means. Aka make a enchanting table, my first diamond tool is going to be a pickaxe. I soon did this and called up Bruce so he can do the work for me, having a broken leg is pretty sweet in that regard. I do have to turn the lava into obsidian though as I do want to have some part in this.
Bruce arrives and I hand him the pickaxe as well as ordering him to stay there. I get a bucket and fill it up outside and order Bruce to follow me down the mine stairs, I use him as another crutch to make sure I dont fall to my doom. We soon arrive at a nearby lava source that I found when digging out the stairs, I dump the water and watch it do its work. The lava quickly solidifies into something hard and tough, obsidian. I tell Bruce to keep mining the stuff until I say stop, i'm not worried on mining to much as it is obsidian. We mine out the four pieces needed to do the deed and I tell him to gather up the pieces while I get the water. Soon enough we climb back up the stairs with almost everything to achieve my plan. I do have leather and sugar cane so I quickly craft a single book to get everything ready, and it was beautiful.
A obsidian block with 4 diamond corners with a magic book on top of a luxurious red top was truly something to look at.
The book decided to follow me as it flipped through its incomprehensible squiggle marks, actually I think there was a alphabet but I never memorized it. I don't blame my past self for this but it would've been nice. The main problem isn't that though but rather how to actually use this thing.
[Skill:Enchanting Obtained]
[Enchanting]
[Description:Able to imbue items with a range of magical empowerments.]
[Restrictions:Must use a Enchanting Table and a stack of Lapis Lazuli. Can only use this Skill once per day.]
Ahh, that does make sense I suppose that does make sense. I was a little concerned about the level cost but it seems that this has been modified so it doesn't exist. The drawbacks are the major increase to lapis cost, a level 30 enchant only required 3 lapis, and a time limit. I suppose by a stack it does mean the Minecraft 64 amount, that should be doable enough as we do have enough to do one right now and it should only increase once we start getting Fortune enchants.
I grab the diamond pickaxe from Bruce and I have him hold the 64 pieces of lapis that I got from a nearby chest. I put a hand on the enchanting table and use my newly acquired Skill to enchant the pickaxe.

[Enchanting Process Beginning]
The book stopped flipping through pages and the pickaxe lifted from my hand and hovered over the open book. The lapis in Bruce's arms soon gathered up and flew into the book. After the last lapis went inside a rainbow of colors exploded from the pages and flew around the enchanting table a couple times before colliding on the pickaxe. It then started glowing across its whole body, its enchanted body to be precise.
[Enchanting Process Complete]
[Enchantments Added:Efficiency IV]
That was not exactly what I was looking for but that was pretty good nevertheless. It was only 1 level below the max level of enchanting so it seems that it does a max level enchantments. I was hoping for at least a level of Fortune but beggars can't be choosers, this pickaxe would still be useful. My usual way of getting the best pickaxe through enchanting would to be to enchant a couple of pickaxes until all their levels are combined and each one is max level. Another way of doing this, and the only way to get Mending on something, would be through Librarian Villagers. This was in my sights but I've yet to see a nearby village so that might have to be done later, probably on a expedition through the forests.
I give Bruce the pickaxe as it would be given to the lucky first Zombie who broke his final one. They might have already broken them and are just now coming back through the tunnels. The whole process of combining tools to get the best one might not be viable if I have to do it for 100 miners, the time limit being the big problem here. I try to see if Bruce can get the Skill by touching the enchanting table but I don't think anything happened, must be a player thing.
Tomorrow should be the day I can get rid of this crutch and get down to business.

Authors Note:I took a nap last night and completely forgot about writing and instead just went to bed immediately once I woke up.
Reviewers:
ShadowKing214:We'll see once I get to the Water Arc. (May or may not be a joke)
RealEWF:Thanks? I'll have to check it out.
Chapter 19 Guest: I don't want to spoil anything but that is kind of a plot point.
