Note: Well, this story is already two years old. The good news is we're a little more than halfway through with this story, and my goal is to hopefully have the entire trilogy finished before this year ends.

Chapter 22: Lion Man With a Plan
Back at the Smash Mansion, Mario walked into the bathroom to take a piss. Just as he finished and went to wash his hands, he heard a loud crash right behind him as the ceiling broke and someone fell to the floor. "What the?"
"Why that little...when I get my hands on him I'll..." grumbled the figure that stood up from the rubble, revealing that it was Dark Samus, who had returned from being launched into space by T.K.O. She then noticed the plumber standing there, frozen in shock, and immediately hovering over to him in seconds, pinning him to the wall and demanding, "Where is that edgy little brat that double-crossed me?!"
"U-Uh...I-I don't-a know who you're-a talking about!" Mario answered nervously.
"That little brat that's got the emo hair, pentagram shirt, and spiked wristbands, where is he?!" Dark Samus asked again, her voice getting more threatening.
"I-I don't-a know! P-Please don't-a hurt me!" begged Mario, and she threw him to the wall and stormed outside the bathroom.
"Alright, does anybody here know where that little emo shit is?!" asked Dark Samus furiously, but no one said anything. "Oh, of all the...am I really gonna have to look for him myself?!"
And so Dark Samus went out in search of T.K.O., and since he was nowhere to be found on the mansion grounds, she decided to look at the next possible place he could be at: Hot Topic. However, when she got to the store at the mall, not only was T.K.O. not there, but neither was the Hot Topic. Instead it was a Sephora.
"What the hell happened here?" Dark Samus asked, completely confused as to why the gothic store was now replaced with a prep store, but was also angry that she couldn't find T.K.O. "Dammit, where the hell could that little shit child be?!"
Then she realized something. While she was looking around the Smash Mansion, none of the Let's Be Smashers members were there.
"That's it! That little Let's Be Smashers group that Samus is with...they must know where that little edgy brat is." Dark Samus thought as she began to formulate a plan...but first she had to figure out where the LBS even was right now.
Carol awoke with a groan as she sat up and rubbed her head. She looked around to see that she was lying on a bed in some strange white room with two Light Troopers standing next to her on both sides.
"Wha? Where am I? What happened?" she asked.
"You're in the medical ward." Carol turned to see the door open and a familiar lion man stepped in, and the two troopers knelt down to welcome their leader. "You looked pretty banged up, but good to see you're doing better."
"Mommy!" exclaimed a voice, and Carol smiled to see K.O. come running in and jumping into her arms.
"Oh, I'm okay, Peanut." Carol murmured as she comforted her son. "Where's everyone else?"
"We're right here." answered Samus as she and the rest of the LBS came into the room. "Good to see you're okay."
"Well, I hate to break this tender moment, but there's something very important I must discuss with you." Lionel said.
Carol gasped. "Oh, that's right! Didn't you say the Hot Topic Krew was coming here? Where are they?"
"Well, it appears that they had a little...change of plans." Lionel led the group to a room where they gathered around some kind of holographic device. "My troopers have reported that they found no traces of the Hot Topic Krew around here, so it looks like we're perfectly safe...for now. However, it seems that they are now heading to a place called the Hidden Land. The problem is, we don't know where exactly it is. Not even our highly-advanced maps can pinpoint the exact location of this land, but we believe that it is connected to a place called Brine Cave. If you guys could head on over there, then perhaps we can find out what the Hot Topic Krew is planning."
"Okay, thank you, Lionel, and you stay safe." Carol said, and then she turned to the rest of the group. "Alright gang, let's head to this Brine Cave and stop the Hot Topic Krew!"
And so the group got in Samus's gunship as the other ship they arrived in got pretty banged up and Lionel bid them farewell as they took off, and a wide grin formed on his face once they were out of sight. "Those fools. The plan is going to work perfectly with them." And then he went off to gather his equipment as he was going to follow the LBS to pursue the Hot Topic Krew.
