"We wouldn't have wanted that Minnie." The group agreed. Minerva smiled and blinked away the tears. Patting Lily's hand she stood besides Arthur. With one last wave the Portkey was activated and the left the room.
Hermione and Ron were watching Harry. Ginny put her arm around him. "Do you need a minute?" Harry nodded.
Lily and the marauders sat on the floor under the bay window. Remus put his arm around Harry. "Crazy day." Sirius commented rubbing the back of his neck. There was a murmur of agreement. Suddenly James and Remus stood up and went to the big cupboard at the back of the room. Returning they laid in front of Harry a big box and a leather belt. Intrigued Harry unravelled the belt. It wasn't a belt at all. It was a long leather strap containing glass vials. "Memories." Smiled Lily. "These" she said pointing at the blue coloured ones "haven't even been made yet. Dumbledore brought them today." Harry now moved to the box. It was a pensive. "All the pranks we got up too. You think you have a lot of stories" laughed Sirius "you haven't heard half of ours yet".
James was slightly worried though "These ones. Theses ones are about the war. They're for a more historic documentation than anything. But these one's are far more interesting. My first match at Hogwarts, Sirius' first detention" Remus joked that there were a lot of detentions to chose from. "Thank you." Harry said simply through the tears. They each stood up. Remus hugged Harry. "You're a proper marauder." He said simply before saying goodbye to the others.
"Too right. You get it from your godfather." Joked Sirius pulling him into a hug. "I've left notes on how to become an animagus upstairs if you ever get bored" he said winking. Lily pushed him out the way. "Don't even think about it" she mocked smiling at Harry. He hugged his Mum one last time not bothering to fight off the tears. Lily moved aside. James hadn't stood up but was staring out the window. "I'm sorry that I can't spend more time with you." He said simply. Harry sat down next to him. "You're not really leaving." James looked at him amused. "Sirius told me a few years ago that the people we love never really leave us." James laughed and looked over at Sirius. "He can be a right soppy git sometimes." James stood up and walked with Harry to where Dumbledore was waiting whispering something to Remus. The family of three stood together at the doorway. Hugging each of them one last time Harry stood back. Ginny stood next to Harry and gently took his hand. "What is it with Potters and redheads?" Asked Sirius. Receiving a punch from James he waved and winked one last time at Harry and walked through the doorway. Remus followed patting Harry on the shoulder as he left. James and Lily hugged Harry again. "I love you" was whispered and tears were shed but they couldn't escape the fact they had to leave. Taking James' hand Lily made her way to the doorway. Looking back the pair smiled at Harry. Then, arm in arm, they left. Dumbledore placed his hand on Harry's shoulder. "You've done so well today." Was all he said as he to walked towards the doorway before passing through he turned one last time "It is lovely to see you three without battle scars" he laughed "I wish you all the best with what I am sure are very bright futures". With that he turned and walked through the doorway which seemed to seal behind him.
