Chapter 32 Engagement and Wedding.

It was almost a year of reclaiming Erebor. I was now staying in my dwarf form like I promised Fili I would after we reclaimed Erebor. I broke the news to Thorin, Fili, and Kili that they were blessed with immortality. They had been happy but surprised that they were blessed by the Valar. Fili's and my relationship was strong and we were getting close. Kili was our only shaperone when we went out, which we had no issue with. We spent time outside or visiting Bard and his children. Fili and I would still do late nights, cuddling and talking. Some days Thorin would have Fili doing Prince duties and I would be either in the library helping Ori or with Oin in the healing quarters when needed.

We had decided to go to Rivendell, just Fili, Kili, my brothers, and I to pick up my things and to visit for a little bit before we head back. I was in my old room packing my clothes and books. A knock on the door came and I saw Fili come in as I was finishing packing.

"Looks like you don't have much to take back." Fili said.

"Not really. I'm sure Elrond will be happy to have an extra room now." I said. Fili comes up to me and pulls me into a hug. I wrap my arms around him and enjoyed the embrace.

"Let's get away for a bit tonight." Fili said.

"Go where?" I ask, looking up at him.

"Its a surprise. After dinner." Fili said, pressing a kiss to my head and left. I let out a sigh. A much needed alone time. I change into a red dress and head for dinner. I sat next to Fili. Arwen had left to visit her Grandmother shortly before we came. I sat between Fili and Kili. The elves made sure that the dwarves had meat and I ate some food as the dwarves talk with Remi and Zarrek. I didn't notice the knowing smiles that Kili and my brothers were shooting Fili. Fili rested a hand on my leg. I look up at him.

"Ready to get away." Fili whispered. I nod.

"Yes." I said. Fili pulled me to my feet as we excused ourselves from dinner. He led me down a path through the gardens. "Where are we going?"

"You'll see." Fili said, holding my hand. We arrived at one of my favorite waterfalls. "Kili and I discovered this while you were packing."

"It's one of my favorite waterfalls to come and escape to read." I said. Fili grinned. We sat on a large rock with our feet in the cool water. Fili took my hand and kissed it. I looked at him and smiled.

"I have a question for you Laila." Fili said. I looked at him.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Will you marry me? I know your my one. And I want to spend our lives happy and married." Fili said. I smile as I tackle him into a hug and press a kiss to his lips. He pulled me tight against him as he returned the kiss.

"Yes Fili. I'll marry ye." I said. Fili touches my face with a huge smile.

"You make me the happiest dwarf of Middle Earth." Fili said. He put a engagement braid in my hair and I put one in his. "We'll marry in Erebor." I nod.

"Can it just be small. Just the Company, my brothers, and yer mom?" I ask.

"Of course." Fili said, pulling me into another kiss. We went to let my brothers and Kili know. Kili hugged Fili and my brothers hugged me.

"Congradulations, big sister." Remi said.

"Thank ye." I said.

That night. I laid curled in Fili's arms as we laid in our quarters on the floor. Fili played with my hair.

"Fili. Laila." My father's voice called. Fili flinched.

"Close your eyes then open them. Trust me." I said, kissing his check. I close my eyes and open them to my father's halls. Fili stood at my side as my father appeared in front of me.

"So this is the dwarf that captured my daugthers heart." Valar said.

"Yes sir." Fili gulped.

"I know my daugther says she's a daughter of Valar. My name is Aule." Aule said. (AN: I finally figured out who I want her father to be. LOL. SORRY) Fili's eyes widen.

"It's an honor to meet you, Lord Aule." Fili said. I smiled at Fili.

"You chose well, my daughter. He is a good one. Take care of her son, or you'll feel my wrath." Aule said. I saw Fili pale.

"I will, my lord." Fili said.

"Thank ye father." I said. We woke up and Fili was a bit shakey and I laugh. "Father isn't that intimidating."

"Just shocked me." Fili said. I pull his face to mine and kiss him.

"He approves. That's all that matters." I said. Fili grinned at me.

"Your right there." Fili said. The next day we head home to Erebor.

It took a few months, but it gave me and Fili sometime together. We arrived and Dwalin greeted us.

"Welcome back. You were missed." Dwalin said.

"Where's uncle and mother?" Fili asked as guards start grabbing my bags from the pony.

"In the royal chambers." Dwalin said. His eyes land on the new braids and he grins. "Your mother is gonna be happy." I smile. Fili, Kili, and I head to the Royal Chambers. Dis was cooking and Thorin was coming out of his study.

"Welcome home." Thorin said, smiling at us. Dis ran and hugged us.

"Glad your home." Dis said.

"Mother. Uncle. Laila and I have an announcement." Fili said.

"What is it?" Thorin asked.

"I asked Laila to marry me and she said yes." Fili said. Dis squealed in delight.

"I thought for sure you were making me wait." Dis said.

"Kind of were." Kili said. Dis smacked him.

"Thorin. Can we do a small ceremony with just the Company, my brothers, and Dis." I said.

"Yes. When would you two like to have the ceremony?" Thorin asked.

"Tonight. And we like for you to proceed the wedding." Fili said.

"I be honored." Thorin said. Dis was to happy and excited that this wedding was finally happy.

That night. I stood in the mirror standing in durin blue dress. My brothers were escorting me.

"Ready, big sister?" Remi asked as him and Zarrek enter the room.

"Ready as I'll ever be." I said. I took both their arms and they lead me to the great hall. The Company stood waiting with Thorin and Fili towards the front. I shared smiles with my brothers as they led me down to my destiny. Fili grinned as he stood in his best outfit, making him look like a prince with his swords on him and Kili beside him. We stopped in front and Fili comes forward. My brothers give my hands to him.

"Take care of her." Remi and Zarrek said in unison.

"I will." Fili said. Remi and Zarrek came to my other side as I stood facing Fili holding his hands.

"We gather here today to unite these two. Say your vows. Fili you first." Thorin said.

"Laila. When I met you. You were strong willed and not willing to let a man hold you back from going on the quest. You went knowing the dangers and fought as well as dwarf which made me fall in love with you more. I promise to protect you and stand by your side till my last days on Middle Earth." Fili said. I smile at him.

"Laila." Thorin said.

"Fili. Ye drove me crazy calling me Princess through the whole journey. Even though I didn't need protection. Ye kept an eye on me and helped me and accepted who I was when you found out I was a Daughter of Valar. I promise to protect you and stand by your side till my last days." I said. I knelt and Fili put the marriage braid in and I did the same with him.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You..." Thorin never finished as Fili pulled me to him and I melted into his kiss. The dwarves cheer as we kiss. Fili and I pull apart and press our foreheads together.

"We did it." Fili said with a smile.

"We did." I said. The Company threw a huge party and Fili and I sat together as the dwarves started suppling ale to Fili and the others.

"Let's start a wager." Nori called.

"Oh Valar." I said.

"For what?" Fili asked as he finished a mug.

"When your first child will be conceived." Nori said with a devilish grin on his face. Fili and I groaned.

"Valar. Do ye guys always wager on stuff?" I ask.

"Yes." Fili said. Fili pulled me away and towards the Royal Chambers as the dwarves argue over the betting.

Few hours after. We lay tangled in our sheets and furs after our first passionate night. I nuzzled my nose into Fili's neck, sighing in content as he pulled me close to him.

"I'm happy I got you at my side." Fili said.

"Blessed that Valar sent me on the mission or we wouldn't have met." I said. Fili pulled his marriage braid and pulled me onto his chest and we kiss.

"Sleep, Princess. We got our whole lives ahead of us." Fili said. I laid my head on his shoulder and let his breathing lull me to sleep.
