The first thing Katsuki was aware of was pain. His ears throbbed, making his head ache. His hands were burning underneath his bandages. He blinked awake slowly, the warm morning light of the sun shone through the window. His mouth was dry, and he felt just generally uncomfortable.

As he became more awake, he was disappointed he still couldn't hear. He'd known it wouldn't just magically come back. But a small part of him had wished, longed for a miracle.

He pushed himself up slightly in the bed, looking around the hospital room. He glanced at the jug of water on the bedside table, he couldn't reach the jug and he doubted that he would be able to grip anything with the majority of his fingers bandaged together. He then saw his mother, curled up asleep on two of the chairs put together, using her coat as a blanket.

"Mom." Katsuki called lightly, but she didn't stir. "Mom." He tried again. Mitsuki jolted awake, pushing herself up before she had really woken up. She looked around briefly, before locking on to Katsuki. She smiled at him.

"How are you feeling?" she signed sleepily.

"Thirsty." He said. Mitsuki automatically stood up and poured him a class of water. Thankfully, some paper straws had been left behind and Mitsuki put one in. Katsuki hummed in thanks as his mother put the straw in his mouth.

The water was cool and refreshing, making his mouth no longer feel like sandpaper. Mitsuki ran a hand through his hair. Katsuki closed his eyes and relaxed into the simplicity touch. He pulled away from the straw when he'd drunk enough.

"Where's Dad?" He asked.

"At home. He'll be back soon." Mitsuki signed after she put the cup on the side, and Katsuki nodded. "The doctor will come check on you as well."

"Okay." Katsuki said. "Can you pass me my phone?"

Mitsuki did so and when he unlocked it, Katsuki could see that it was 8:30 and he had several text messages. Flipping through them, Katsuki saw that the majority of them were responses to his drug induced statements. Katsuki blushed as he looked through his idiotic ramblings about cats and fruit.

Eijirou, however, had text him that morning.

From Eijirou x:

Good morning, Baby.

Momo is going to take notes for you today.

Hoshi's been fed and cuddled.

I hope you're okay.

I love you x

Katsuki smiled at the messages.

From Katsuki 3:

I'm okay. I'll keep you updated.

Thank you.

I love you too.

When Katsuki looked up again Masaru was there, looking at him. Katsuki jumped, not expecting his father to be there. Masaru smiled sheepishly, placing the several bags he was holding down.

"I brought you some clothes, you can change after the doctor has been. I got you a book and your phone charger too."

"Thank you." Katsuki said.

"Katsuki, I have to tell you something."

"What?" Katsuki asked, Masaru sighed and sat on the edge of the bed.

"Last night, after he came to visit you. Best Jeanist." Masaru paused a second.

"What happened?" Katsuki asked, sitting up straight.

"He had some trouble. He couldn't stop coughing and he fainted in the waiting room. His lung collapsed."

"What? He was okay, he was alright."

"He's in surgery now. I don't know anything more. I'm sorry Katsuki."

"What happened?" Katsuki asked.

"I don't know Katsuki. I know his brother was called. That's all."

"Can you find out if I can see him. After his surgery?"

"I'll talk to the doctors." Masaru nodded.

"Was it my fault? Recovery Girl said he shouldn't be stressed."

"No Katsuki, don't blame yourself." Mitsuki signed. "Nobody causes this kind of thing."

Katsuki sighed unhappily. How could in not be his fault? He'd let his mentor down. He'd disappointed him. It couldn't be a coincidence that moments after leaving Katsuki's room he'd gotten ill.

Before he could spiral deeper down that train of thought, the door to his room opened. Dr Anzai and Recovery Girl came in. The old lady smiled at Katsuki, which was odd, because every interaction he'd had with the woman in the past was almost hostile.

"Katsuki. The doctor needs to take off you bandages." Mitsuki signed after exchanging words with the doctor. Katsuki nodded. Dr Anzai came up to him, taking his left hand and beginning to undo the bandages. "Hows's the pain?"

"Fine." Katsuki said numbly. "My ears hurt the most, and my head. My arms are sore, but fine. I've had worse."

Dr Anzai nodded, pulling the last bandage off of his left arm. The doctor moved around the bed, to start on his right arm. Katsuki couldn't help staring at his limb. All the way up to his elbow was red and angry, skin was peeling and blistered, oozing fluid. His fingers were covered in scabbed over cuts and he couldn't help but wince.

His right arm wasn't much different. It was badly burnt, and the pain felt more intense now he could see them. He wiggled his fingers; they were stiff and the action hurt. Katsuki breathed out heavily, whilst his parents watched on, their concern growing. This was the first time any of them had seen his injuries.

Dr Anzai then moved on to Katsuki's head, steadily unwinding the wrapping. His ears felt cold in the air of the room. Katsuki flinched as the doctor's fingers brushed against his neck, causing the Dr to take a step back.

Katsuki sat still, staring off into the distance as the doctor examined his ears. Dr Anzai wiped away a mixture of blood and pus from each of his ears, they were still oozing and inflamed, but apparently the swelling had gone down enough for the doctor to look at them.

The process was uncomfortable. The doctor wasn't rough per say, but Katsuki's ears were sensitive and the actions hurt. Katsuki had instinctually pulled away from the doctor several times, and if his hands weren't as burnt as they were, Katsuki was sure he would have exploded the room.

Dr Anzai pulled away and began to talk to Katsuki's parents. He watched, trying to distinguish what was being said, but he'd never been all that good at ready lips. He scowled, anger building up underneath his skin. He hated this, he was already being treated like some kind of burden, not being able to do anything for himself. They were treating him like a child, like he wasn't important.

"I am still here, you know." Katsuki growled. Dr Anzai jumped but Mitsuki rolled her eyes.

"I will tell you in a moment."

Katsuki let out a wordless snarl, but the adults turned back to discuss something.

"Can you hear anything?" Masaru asked after a while.

"A little, its all muffled, like it's rooms away. Like a low humming noise, I can't make anything out." Katsuki said. Dr Anzai nodded, talking again. Katsuki lay back down with a heavy sigh. He couldn't even clench his fists without doing more damage to himself. He was burning with rage and frustration.

"Recovery Girl is going to use her Quirk on you. To see what she can do." Mitsuki signed and Katsuki muttered his consent.

The old lady hobbled over to his bedside, kissing his forehead heavily. Katsuki hated the wet lips against his skin and the tingling sensation her Quirk spread through his body. The relief was almost immediate though.

Katsuki watched as the burns and blisters covering his arms melted away. The angry redness that had covered his skin faded into a pale looking pink. The small scabs disappeared, without leaving a trace that they had ever been there.

The throbbing from his forehead dissipated and his ears felt strange. It was like he had water down them, they itched, but the pain wasn't as intense. Recovery Girl put her hand on his forehead, just above his right eye. She swiped her thumb through his eyebrow and shook her head. She mumbled something. Katsuki could hear her speak, but like before he couldn't pick anything up, and it was such a quiet noise. Despite the fact that Recovery Girl was right by his head.

"She says you've got a scar." Mitsuki signed and Katsuki nodded. "Can you hear anything now?"

"It's the same." Katsuki shrugged, and Dr Anzai frowned.

The doctor came back towards Katsuki, examining his ears again. Katsuki watched as Dr Anzai said something to his parents before disappearing out of the door. Recover Girl offered the family a small bow before leaving herself.

"What the fuck is going on?" Katsuki snapped at his parents.

"Doctor Anzai wants to schedule you in for an MRI, to get a better look at your inner ear." Masaru signed, "As Recovery Girl couldn't heal it, it means it won't heal on its own. We need to find out whether it's something they can correct with surgery or something that's permanent."

"Oh." Katsuki said.

"Recovery Girl has gone to see if she can help with Best Jeanist." Mitsuki added.

Katsuki nodded again.

"Do you want to get changed?" Masaru asked.

"Yeah, can I go back to sleep afterwards? I'm tired."

"Recovery Girl said you would be." Masaru nodded.

The rest of Katsuki's morning was a blur. He'd been allowed to wash, thankfully cleaning the remaining sweat, blood and dirt from his skin. He'd been told not to get his ears wet, which made washing his hair difficult.

He'd then been allowed to drift off to sleep. It was a fitful sleep, that didn't exactly feel restful. He was plagued with flashes of memory and nightmare, shocking him awake only an hour or two after he first went to sleep.

He had read his book, some fantasy book written in English about an assassin. He'd been trying to improve his understanding of the language by reading the foreign book, having to stop several times to look up a word, but it distracted him enough from the world around him.

Just before lunch, Dr Anzai came back and Katsuki was led to another room. His father came with him, his mother heading off to get them something to eat. Masaru briefly translated for the doctor, telling Katsuki to lie down on the MRI machine bed and lay completely still.

Katsuki did as he was told, but he couldn't fight back against the panic that built in his chest. Logically he knew the machine wouldn't hurt him, but the whole situation was new, and he couldn't help but reach out for his father's hand.

Only his head went inside the machine and the process probably didn't take any longer than 20 minutes. But it felt so much longer to Katsuki. His father held his hand the entire time, running his thumb over his son's knuckles.

Dr Anzai then allowed them to go back to his own room, claiming he would rush the results of the MRI, due to Katsuki being a hero in training, apparently there were some perks to being U.A. student.

Class 1.A. were once again piled into the school bus, plus Shinsou. Aizawa and Yamada were at the front of the bus, talking quietly amongst themselves whilst the class sat quietly. Eijirou sat near the front, but he kept glancing at Shouto who was sat at the back next to Kouda.

"Stop looking at him, you'll blow our cover." Kaminari hissed, elbowing Eijirou in the ribs.

"I can't help it, I'm nervous." Eijirou replied, glancing back again.

"Aizawa isn't going to notice if you stop drawing attention to it." Mina replied.

"One look at Shouto and he'll know."

"That's why we don't let him look." Uraraka said with a smile.

"We're all going to get expelled." Eijirou whined.

Aizawa looked back at the sound of the redhead's voice. Eijirou blushed and looked away, Aizawa frowned but Kaminari waved at him. The teacher rolled his eyes before speaking up.

"Alright, all of you listen up." Aizawa waited a moment for the students to all pay attention. "Bakugou's parents are okay with you visiting him, the hospital has given permission for you to go in all together, as long as we're not there for too long and we don't get in the way."

"We won't Sensei. We will maintain a sense of decorum. We will cause no trouble." Iida replied. Eijirou frowned to himself, it was strange to hear Iida lie.

"Good. As requested, he doesn't know you're coming. His parents will go out a bit, and he'll be alone."

"Excellent." Kaminari laughed.

"Please remember, he's been through a lot. As far as I'm aware, he's been healed mostly by Recovery Girl, so he might be tired. And despite the fact that he'll look relatively unharmed, we don't know what Bakugou might be feeling." Aizawa said.

"Sensei, can he hear, kero?" Asui asked.

"No. That's why he's still in hospital. They're trying to figure out what has happened." Aizawa said with a sigh. "So, you'll have to sign to him."

"We can do that, don't worry." Midoriya said.

"Will you be coming in with us?" Momo asked.

"Not straight away." Aizawa said. "Mic and I need to go check on a friend before we see Bakugou."

"Shouldn't your student be more important?" Hagakure asked.

"Bakugou's life isn't on the line. Our friend's is." Aizawa said simply.

"Oh, I'm sorry Sensei." Iida said. "I hope they're okay."

"He's in the best place he could be." Yamada said.

Once the class reached the hospital, they made their way off the bus, single file. Aizawa and Yamada were off first, and Iida directed their attention towards himself as Shouto slipped off the bus behind him.

Shouji Satou, Kouda and Shinsou surrounded Shouto, obscuring him from prying eyes. Aizawa didn't seem to notice anything amiss and he led them inside. Eijirou glanced towards Shouto again. He was wearing a large black hoodie, which looked ridiculous on the boy, especially considering his usual fashion sense.

They walked through the hospital until they reached the waiting room they had been in the day before. Aizawa then told them he would meet them in Bakugou's room later before he and Yamada walked off towards another room.

The class then followed Eijirou and Midoriya towards Katsuki's room. On the way there, Shouto noticed a nurse starring at his large stomach. He scowled at him, meeting his eyes before snapping.

"What are you looking at? You never seen a fat kid before?" His tone was aggressive, hostile, nothing like his usual self. The nurse took a step back and walked away, leaving them to reach Katsuki's room in peace.

Midoriya pushed the door open. Katsuki was sat under the thin fabric covers of his bed, reading a book. He didn't notice the class until about half of them were in the room. He jumped, dropping his book on the floor.

"What the fuck are you guys doing here?" he asked, reaching down to grab his book. Eijirou went to his side, picking it up for him. He gave it to Katsuki before signing.

"We wanted to see you." Katsuki smiled, before covering it with a scowl. Eijirou took the seat next to Katsuki's bed.

"We brought presents." Midoriya added.

"Well hand them over then." Katsuki said.

Aoyama was the first to approach, handing Katsuki an envelope. Bakugou opened it to reveal a large, glittery card. Every member of the class, as well as some teachers and some people from 1.B and Shinsou had signed it, writing a little message next to their name. Katsuki scoffed when he saw a message stating "Not so tough now, are you- Monoma x."

"Can someone tell Monoma that I'll kill him when I get back."

Next Satou placed the cake he had baked, a dark chocolate one, on his bedside table and Ojjiro had added the pineapple. Katsuki had scowled at Eijirou who offered him a smile. The redhead then opened his own bag, pulling out his Crimson Riot hoodie. He placed it on Katsuki's lap.

"Eiji?"

"You said you missed me." Eijirou signed, his own words were quiet, spoken more out of instinct than any real desire for anyone else to overhear. Katsuki leant across, kissing Eijirou's cheek.

"Thank you." Normally, he would have waited until the class was gone to pull on the hoodie, but he was cold, so he put it on anyway. It was easier to ignore the coos if he couldn't here them. Eijirou, however, blushed a dark red.

Next, Shouto stepped up to the bed, the stomach of his hoodie was now moving slightly, causing Katsuki to furrow his brow in confusion.

"What the fuck?" he asked. Shouto just began to unzip his hoodie, and out shot a ball of grey and white fur.

Hoshi landed on the bed and for a second, she was confused. Her fluffy ears were flat against her head and her fur was on end. She looked around the room before noticing Katsuki. Immediately her ears and tail were up, and she meowed at him.

She leapt across the bed, landing in his lap, butting her head against his chin. Katsuki automatically buried his hands into her fur.

"You snuck my fucking cat into the hospital?" he hissed. Shouto shrugged.

"We wanted to make you feel better." Midoriya explained.

"How on Earth did you do it?"

"We hid her under Shouto's shirt." Kouda signed. "I told her to stay still, and she liked how warm he was. She was excited to see you."

"Does Aizawa know?"

"Nope." Jirou laughed.

"He's visiting a friend in the hospital." Midoriya added.

"Jeanist." Katsuki nodded.

"What?" Eijirou asked, his heart sinking. Katsuki frowned.

"He collapsed or something. His lung went wrong again." Katsuki stroked Hoshi, digging his fingers into the fur around her face. The cat had closed her eyes and although he couldn't hear her purring, he could feel her vibrating.

He kissed her forehead and cuddled her to his chest.

"That's horrible." Jirou said, Katsuki glanced up and nodded. Eijirou reached out and took Katsuki's hand, squeezing lightly.

"Yeah. I'm just waiting to find out anymore." Katsuki said. "Anyway, how was your day? What did you do at school?"

"We had to fight against some 3rd years." Midoriya signed. Eijirou watched as Katsuki snorted.

"Did you win?"

"No." Jirou signed. "He got naked and it was terrifying."

"Naked?"

"His Quirk made his clothes fall off or something." Jirou shrugged.

"Gross." Katsuki said. "What else?"

"Well those of us who passed our exam can take part in a work studies program." Midoriya signed.

Eijirou watched Katsuki's expression, to everyone else he seemed to take that information well. He didn't outwardly react. But Eijirou saw the light in his eyes fade slightly and he held Hoshi tighter. The cat licked Katsuki's chin, rubbing her fluffy ears against him.

Eijirou felt guilty, Katsuki had wanted nothing more than to work properly for Best Jeanist. They'd had a few conversations in the past about how excited and nervous he was at the mere thought. Katsuki deserved to be able to do those things with the rest of the class.

Eijirou squeezed his hand, bringing Katsuki's fingers to his lips. Katsuki smiled sadly at him, Eijirou returned it before getting distracted. He brought his hand up to push Katsuki's hair out of his face, revealing the pinkish scar running through his right eyebrow.

The class watched the action confused as Eijirou pulled his hand away.

"What's that?" He signed, not knowing the signs he really wanted to say.

"A scar. The doctor said it was really deep or something. I had stitches but then Recovery Girl healed it. The face scars easily or something like that." He shrugged.

"Tell me about it." Shouto muttered, unbeknownst to Katsuki, making Iida gasp.

"We match." Eijirou laughed before placing his finger on his own scar on his eyelid. Katsuki smiled. Shouto rolled his eyes.

At that moment, the door to Katsuki's room opened and Aizawa walked in, Yamada followed. Aizawa greeted Katsuki and the rest of the class. For a moment, he didn't notice the cat snuggled on Katsuki's lap. But when he did, he sighed.

"Who the fuck, snuck a cat into the hospital?" He growled as he signed at the same time.

"I didn't know anyone was coming, let alone Hoshi." Katsuki said, quickly clearing himself of blame. Eijirou snorted.

"Iida?" Aizawa asked. "Who did it?"

"I believe it was, in fact, a group effort, Sensei." Iida stammered. "But technically, Shouto was the one to carry her." Aizawa turned to face Shouto whilst Yamada tried to stifle his laughter.

"Hey, it was Dark Shadow's idea." Shouto said, pointing at Tokoyami, who ruffled his feathers.

"He is a demon, after all. You can not expect him to want to follow the rules." Tokoyami said.

"You can't be mad, Aizawa-sensei." Uraraka pouted. "We just wanted to make Bakugou happy."

"Hoshi made him smile." Kaminari added.

"What's going on?" Katsuki shouted, drawing everyone's attention back to himself. Hoshi got to her paws, walking around Katsuki's body, rubbing her head all over him.

"Sorry." Aizawa signed to Katsuki before turning back to his class. "Your intensions may have been pure and in the right place. But bringing her here, it could put other patients at risk."

"It could?" Shouto asked.

"She's a hygiene issue, and what if someone's allergic to cats?" Aizawa suggested.

"We should have considered those things." Iida frowned. "We won't do it again."

"You won't sneak another cat passed me." Aizawa said. "However, I've got to say. I'm impressed you managed it. I wasn't exactly on alert, but I thought I would have noticed Hoshi." Katsuki picked Hoshi up, peppering kisses throughout her fur.

"She was sad and wanted to see him. Kouda told her to be quiet and stay hidden." Shinsou said. Aizawa nodded.

"Sho', I've just had a thought." Yamada said quietly.

"Don't hurt yourself." Aizawa muttered, teasingly.

"Why don't we give them Cashmere to look after?"

"Who's Cashmere?" Momo asked.

"What the fuck is going on?" Katsuki scowled.

"Cashmere is Best Jeanist's cat." Aizawa said and signed together. "I took him, whilst Jeanist is in hospital, because we were the most prepared to deal with another cat. However, he's upset and won't settle."

"What's wrong?" Shouto asked.

"We just think he's confused and thinks he's abandoned. We're having to keep him in a room by himself because he keeps getting into fights with our two other tom cats. He gets on fine with the girls. Which is strange because all of them are neutered."

"What he means to say, is Cashmere might be happier with you guys, especially with Kouda who can talk to him." Mic continued. "What do you say? You guys want to cat sit for Best Jeanist?"

Kouda nodded and the other students agreed.

"Just make sure he doesn't hurt Hoshi, alright?" Katsuki said, tickling under Hoshi's chin.

"We won't." Shouto said

"Aizawa. How's Jeanist?" Katsuki asked, Eijirou reached out to pet the cat who purred again.

"He's not awake yet, but he's going to be okay." Aizawa explained. "They've had to removed the lower part of his left lung, but they think they've saved the rest of it." Katsuki sighed in relief.

"Can I see him?" Katsuki asked.

"I think when he comes round from the anaesthetic, you should be able to. I think his sidekicks will be coming to visit him tomorrow, so maybe you could go with them?"

"Okay, thank you." Katsuki said softly.

"You're looking a lot better." Aizawa added, making Eijirou smile. "How are you feeling?"

"Better. I had an MRI today."

Later on, after 1.A. had long since left and Katsuki had fallen asleep, Mitsuki and Masaru wee interrupted by Dr Anzai. Mitsuki had been reading a novel and Masaru was going through a sudoku book. Katsuki had fallen asleep whilst reading his own book.

"Sorry, it's a bit late." Dr Anzai said. "But I have the results of the MRI."

"Please, come in." Masaru said.

"What's a matter with him?" Mitsuki said.

"The MRI scan has revealed to us that your son has perforated both of his eardrum, to a rather severe extent. Usually, in a mild form, this kind of damage would heal on its own. However, considering Recovery Girl's Quirk didn't work, I'm confident that this won't happen."

"Is there anything we can do?" Mitsuki asked, putting her book down.

"Yes. There's a surgical procedure that we can do to repair them. It involves taking a small section of tissue, from behind the ear and grafting his eardrum back together." Dr Anzai explained. "It's a short procedure, and he should be able to go home the same day, as long as no complications arise."

"Will it mean he'll hear again?"

"Most likely. There is a possibility that it won't make a difference. There's a possibility he could be completely deaf for the rest of his life." Dr Anzai frowned. "His hearing won't ever be the same as it was. He will have damage from this and require hearing aids, but as he was wearing some already, this shouldn't be a problem."

"Of course, further down the line a cochlear implant may be something to be considered. It's difficult to predict what kind of hearing ability he'll have." Dr Anzai said.

"Okay." Masaru nodded, he sighed to himself. "How long is the recovery period?"

"Usually 2-3 weeks without Quirk related assistance. However, I believe that after about a week, when enough natural healing has taken place Recovery Girl may be able to accelerate the healing process."

"And he'll be able to go to school?"

"I advise he stay at home for a few days first, but he can go back to school. However, under absolutely no circumstances should he use his Quirk or continue his physical training until he is completely healed."

"That's understandable." Masaru said.

"There's numerous things he can and can't do, I have some information here." The Doctor handed Masaru (who was closest) several pieces of paper.

"Thank you." Mitsuki said. "When would he be able to have surgery?"

"All going well, tomorrow afternoon. We have a specialist who will carry out the procedure." Dr Anzai said. "I just want to be clear. Don't expect him to be able to hear straight away. I'd actually advise to be quiet around him, as to not do any more damage. It'll most likely be a slowly regaining over the weeks."

"We'll let him know." Mitsuki said.

The next morning was a blur for Katsuki. His parents told him about his oncoming surgery, and Katsuki had no choice to go along with it. He felt somewhat unprepared for the whole thing, but according to his parents it wouldn't take long, and he should be able to go home afterwards.

He had texted Eijirou, telling him about the surgery and not to come visit him that evening after school as he'd either be in surgery or heading home. Eijirou, instead had offered to skip school and come visit him early, which Katsuki couldn't help but smile at.

In the end, he had refused the visit; claiming that Eijirou couldn't miss school just for him, and he was relying on him for notes. In reality, Katsuki was relying on Momo and Iida for notes, but his point still stood.

That morning, he'd been allowed to go and visit Best Jeanist. Flashback and Transcript were with him, watching over him as he slept. Hakamata didn't wake up in the time that Katsuki was with him, but either way the explosive student felt all the more better for going to see him.

Flashback was fluent in sign language, which initially had surprised Katsuki, until he remembered the very nature of the sidekick's Quirk. If Flashback used his Quirk to listen to the past, he would temporarily lose his hearing.

Due to this, Katsuki was able to talk to the two sidekicks, mentioning his own surgery and his failure at the exams. Flashback was reassuring, promising him that Jeanist wouldn't be mad at him and his lung collapsing was in no way Katsuki's fault.

Katsuki felt he had to leave them all too soon, but his father wanted him back, in order to make sure he understood the surgery he would have. Katsuki had already read the provided paperwork twice and he'd searched it online to find out more.

Mitsuki and Masaru tried to calm Katsuki's growing nerves, reading through his calm façade. They didn't really achieve much, although they were signing words of encouragement and promising he'd be okay, Katsuki could help but feel sick with worry.

When the time for the surgery cam, Katsuki wanted to explode the doctor, The cheerful and optimistic disposition of Dr Anzai put Katsuki on edge. In reality, he knew that there was nothing to feel afraid of, that he was in a safe place in confident hands, but he'd never had surgery before, never had general anaesthetic before.

Yet there was nothing Katsuki could really do, he had to have the surgery, if he ever wanted to hear again. So, with fear bubbling in his belly and his hands firmly clasping his parents, he allowed the doctor to slip a mask over his face.

Dr Anzai told Katsuki to count backwards from ten as he breathed in the general anaesthetic. Katsuki was unconscious before he even got to six.
