Chapter 28: The Saiyans Go Home
After a night of partying hard, the residents of Sonic's home were all fast asleep, and morning had finally come. Knuckles was the first one up, and the bright morning Sun was shining in his eyes. He shielded his eyes from the light with his hand and looked around. Tails was passed out on the couch, with Sonic on the floor. Goku and Vegeta were presumably outside sparring with each other, and Silver and Blaze were crammed in a corner. "Whew. What a night. Today's the day that the Saiyans can finally go home." Knuckles dragged himself off the couch and got a drink of water. Knuckles made himself some breakfast, and walked out to the porch. The sunlight made the sea sparkle, and the air was crisp.
Suddenly, something flew by at supersonic speed. It made the water spray up in a huge wave. The object was blue. "Who could that be? Sonic's still sleeping!" Knuckles got up out of his chair and investigated the mysterious blue blur. Suddenly, it came streaking in towards him, but it stopped just in time. Mecha Sonic stood in front of Knuckles, his blue armor glinting in the sunlight. "Oh hey, Mecha Sonic. You seem to be itching for some action, are ya?" Mecha Sonic nodded. "Ah, well the Saiyans are going home today, so I don't think there'll be any action around here for a while." Suddenly, someone stepped onto the porch. It was Sonic. "What are you guys doing out here? Shouldn't the Saiyans be awake yet?" he asked. Knuckles shrugged. "I guess so. But is it really a good idea to wake 'em up? After all, they do need rest after literally days of fighting. But, after today, they can go back to their own universe, and take a load off." he said. Sonic went inside to wake Goku and Vegeta up. Sonic went to wake Goku first. He shook him gently. "Aw come on, Chichi… five more minutes." Goku kept snoring. Sonic shook him harder, and he snapped awake. "Huh? Aw man! I was having such an awesome dream! Is it morning yet?" he asked. Sonic nodded and pointed out the window. "Tails and I have prepared your spaceship, so get your gi on, and get ready. It's been a great time hanging out with you and Vegeta."
Sonic said. Suddenly, a knock on the door. "Kakarot! Are you up yet? We need to get going!" said Vegeta. Goku dragged himself out of bed, and slowly walked out of the guest bedroom. "Good morning, 'Geets! I'm all ready to go! Wait, but what about breakfast?" Goku asked. "You don't have time for breakfast. The Giant Ring is going to disappear soon! You gotta get going NOW!" said Tails. Sonic rushed the Saiyans out the door and onto the Capsule Corp spaceship. "Goku, it's been a great few weeks. You fought well, and you came out mostly unscathed. And Vegeta, it's been a pleasure to see you again. Our first time meeting was, well, less than pleasant. Now we're cool. I wish you guys the best of luck back in your universe, and we'll be seeing you soon!" said Sonic. Tails and Knuckles waved at the leaving ship. The huge door closed, and the ship's engines lit. The wind blew away a small patch of grass from Sonic's island, and the spaceship rose slowly. It then picked up speed, and flew up and out of sight. It left the atmosphere of Planet Mobius, on its way to the Giant Ring. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles walked back into the house, with Mecha Sonic following suit. Tails looked at the floor sad. "Ah don't worry buddy. We'll see them again someday." Sonic said. Sonic and his friends reclined on a sofa watching a movie. Suddenly, the ground shook. "What's that? Be on your guard!" Knuckles said. A green light emanated from an area in the front yard. A portal appeared in its place, and a person popped through! It was another hedgehog, with similar quills to Sonic's. "Hey, who are you?" Sonic asked. The mystery person stood up straight. He had a red headband wrapped around his forehead, and an X- shaped scar on his left cheek. A golden earring was attached to his left ear, and he wore a light purple jacket. Its sleeves were frayed, and a Sonic shaped insignia was sewed onto a sleeve. This mysterious stranger wore boots similar to Sonic's shoes, but the cuffs were much higher up the leg. "Oh, am I glad to see you. I'm here to warn you about the future, and to help you change it. As for my name, well, I'm sure you know.
I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog."
