Twin Bombers.
A New Symbol is Born: Sheep and Wolves.
Momo applied some makeup, looking so flattering in a fiery orange dress, I sighed and pulled on my suit jacket, knowing that I needed to make a better impression. I tried to tame my long mess of blond spikes and curls, I pulled it back into a spiky ponytail.
"Look, Momo! I'm like you!" I laughed, "Spiky Ponytail!"
Momo chuckled, "Dear, we're different…" she sighed, pulling it out, "I like it down,"
"Aw, okayyyy!" I whined, Momo grew stern, "Would you like to sleep on the floor tonight?" she asked viciously.
"What?! No… I wanna cuddle with you tonight… I dunno what your family's got planned…" I sighed, "Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be biased,"
"Renaru… you're going to do great…" Momo sighed, "Now… can you help me with my hair?" she asked with a teasing smirk. I grabbed the brush and started to brush the silky, dark tresses. She was so peaceful, almost cat-like with her bliss. She lovingly stroked my arms, adjusting my bands accordingly.
She looked like a goddess. She stroked my cheek and we left back for the estate, my nervousness starting to come up, seeing that there were less cars than last time. We passed by a vintage Bentley and Momo grabbed my hand and led me past it, seeing an older man with a cane already nipping at a flask.
His hair was red-gray, his eyes warm and brown, he smiled, "Ah! Momo-bug," he greeted her, hugging her despite coming up to about her chest like me.
"Grunkle Abner, I'm so glad you're here!" she excitedly exclaimed.
"Of course, it sure beats office work," he drawled, "Oh? This must be the boy you rave about,"
I noticed he had a bit of an Irish lilit to his voice, "So… another for the Peanut Gallery, eh?"
"Peanut Gallery?" I asked.
"Aye… you dannae ken the Machinarium of 'er wiley grammae…" he warned.
"Grunkle Abner means Machinations of my wiley grandmother," Momo translated.
"Aye, yer lad should know," he said, "Seems like a smart lad, d'you drink? What's yer poison, lad?" he asked.
"Poison? Sir, I don't drink," Renaru said.
"What?! Lad, having a stummach fer alcohol is required fer high-class livin'," he gasped.
"No, it's not at all," I said. Abner chuckled and we all went inside, seeing some familiar faces from the 'birthday party'. Momo looked at me, her hand clenching mine. I took a deep breath and Abner swept me into a separate dining room. He looked glum.
"Sorry Lad, we're not like them…" he sighed, "Cedrick, we aren't alone," A man with azure hair done in a pompadour sighed. He sat sadly at the front of the table with a couple of women already drinking champagne. I started to get pissed off.
"Which one?" he asked. His voice was distinctly British. I started to get even more pissed off. Why did I even need to be here?! If I was gonna be shacked up with an Irishman, an Englishman, and a couple of women who definitely didn't belong here… who's to say I did?
"Momo-bug, Ced," Abner sighed, "Rack up another tab, boyo…"
I sat down and made eye contact with the women. They waved, content smiles on their faces.
Cedrick sidled up to me, "I've been where you are, kid. Now, here are your options... One: You fake your deaths, change your names, and move to Belize. Two: You elope with her and come back married. Or Three: You walk right back out those doors and forget you ever loved her in the first place, there's some beer and gin if you need it, maybe some absinthe, but I think Great Uncle Abner is going to town on it,"
"But sir, I'm Sixteen..." I objected, wishing that Mom didn't have such an addictive personality.
"Psh, who cares? We're rich, and you're the next Endeavor," One of the ladies, who had a rough-looking quirk, said, her name was Tsuki, the other one was named Delia.
"Welcome to the Peanut Gallery, Renegade, where the booze is free and the tears are freer…" Delia snarled, "Marrying my Gendo wasn't a mistake, meetin' his family was…"
"Wow… this is… sad," I said.
"Hear, hear, lad…" Abner sighed, "My boy was my brother's kid's kid, I thought helpin' him out was the least I could do… then I got tossed in here 'way from Momo-bug,"
I picked at my food, "Where are you from, Cedrick?" I asked.
"London," Cedrick answered, Cognac flowin'.
I sighed, looking at my water and sipping it, "Delia, how 'bout you?" I asked.
"Hun, I'm from Tennessee, Appalachian Country, up near Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge." she said, whiskey was her friend. Tsuki dryly chuckled.
"Damn, yer lookin' too soft fer a hero, where you from, Softie? I'm from Osaka," Tsuki piped up, some vintage Champagne was with her.
"Northeast Hosu, ain't pretty, but it's home…" I sighed, "Still, why are you guys tossed out? You're married to the family,"
"They cannae hear the opinions o' the workin' class, m'lad," Abner huffed, "You wanna 'ave some Green Fairy?"
"No sir, still sixteen," I denied, "Doesn't it piss y'all off?"
They all nodded, and I heard the door slam aside, heavy breathing, my Momo's breathing. I shot up and dashed to her side, seeing her makeup running and I felt a lance of rage ignite me. I held my sparks down and held her tightly.
"Shh… Shh… Babe… Momo…" I soothed, "Let's go home, hey?" I asked.
Momo sniffed, burying her face into my chest, listening to my heartbeat. I smiled, "Easy… easy…" I sighed.
I saw her grandmother, glaring down at her like she was some sort of maggot. I felt rage pierce me harsher, twisting and thorny. I felt my words spill out.
"You wanna say somethin'? 'Cause whatever you said made my Momo cry," I snarled.
Her grandmother smiled, "Of course, let's talk," she stated. Momo's mother stopped me before I went, and gave me a hug, something completely out of left field for me.
"Renaru, regardless of what happens, if you make my daughter happy… that's all I want, and all I want you to do, I'm proud to call you my son anytime," she said, "You… when you're ready, you can marry her,"
I smiled, "Alright, I'll be back from the Lion's Den in a snap," I stated, "After that, Momo and I are goin' home,"
I met her grandmother in the parlor, my anger still evident, my heat wafted around me. She seemed so pleasant, and I was immediately on guard. My mental shields immediately raised. Little did I know that this was gonna be do or die.
"Renaru, do you know the story of the Odyssey?" she asked.
"Of course, I've read the Odyssey," I said, "What're you getting at?" I asked, my guard not dropped.
"What I'm 'getting at' is that you're like Penelope's suitors, mooching o-" I cut her off by starting to laugh.
"Pfft… me? Me? Oh come on, I know I'm Odyessus, there's nothing I wouldn't do for your granddaughter, ma'am," I assured. She smiled.
"Consider this the 'Axehead Challenge', young Bakugou," she said.
"What're the stakes?" I asked.
"It's simple, you win, you take Momo back with you, and you two can get married. You lose, and you NEVER associate with her again…" she threatened.
"Oh yeah? How do I know this isn't rigged?" I asked, "How do I know you won't pull an Agenemnon?"
"Come now, Renaru,"
"Don't push it," I warned.
"Mr. Bakugou, would I ever cheat?" she asked.
"I dunno, would you?" I snarked, "Because you got five minutes to explain what the hell you did to make her cry, otherwise yer gonna need a plastic surgeon to fix yer FACE…"
"Ah, so the truth then," she said, still casually sitting, her dark eyes drilling harshly into my soul, not like Momo's eyes, so gentle, and filled with vigor and life, joy… I'm gettin' sidetracked.
"The truth is that I don't like you," she said, "Not only did you come from such a BACKWATER as Hosu, but from a slut?" she scoffed.
"Excuse you? My mom is NOT a slut," I denied, "How do you know anything about me?"
"I have my resources… even if I am old, that doesn't mean I don't have my charms," she giggled.
"But what did you do to make her cry?" I asked, her grandmother leaned forwards, eyes narrow and voice as cold as ice.
"I told her that she can't marry you, I told her that you won't give her the happiness she desires, and even if you could, you'd become a drunkard, a deadbeat loner with no one to-" I cut her off.
"You're describing my dad, ma'am. Not once did I ever hurt Momo, not once did I ever leave without her, and not once will I EVER abandon her, she's… she's… she's everything. She was the first girl to ever make me feel the way I do about her. I only left to keep her safe," I sighed heavily, "Still, you're the matriarch, your word is law I bet…"
She nodded, "You're just proving my point, O Great Renegade," she reasoned.
"Yeah, 'cause I don't deserve her, but you know what? I don't need to decide this, Momo does, class doesn't mean jack, and I know you'll never like me, so why don't we leave this… 'challenge' up to Momo?" I asked, smirking like I knew I backed her into a corner even though I didn't.
I knew she had something else up her sleeve. Endeavor taught me to watch for any microexpressions, because we'd do Good Cop (Me.) Bad Cop (Endeavor.) when interviewing criminals. I had a good eye for them, not great, but judging by her body language, she seemed to think she had this all in the bag.
"Fine then," she conceded.
The doors opened and Momo came in, her face cleaned up, but she looked so worried, so scared. Looking at both me and her, probably glad I didn't decide to level her house. I smiled at her, and she pulled out an odd case.
Now I know why Abner was shocked that I was still clean. This wasn't wine or gin, or even beer. This was the one drink Mom told me to RUN AWAY from. One that was like an accelerant to my quirk. One that my dad would drink.
Vodka.
I took one look at it and said, "Well, if you're so eager to see what villains see comin' at them before they die, pop it open," I smirked as Momo passed me the whole bottle.
She knew that I was ballsy enough to drink it. She knew I couldn't and wouldn't back down. She sabotaged her grandmother's trump card. I knocked it back, chugging greedily. The rest of the family watched in abject horror as my sparks ignited BLUE. The bottle was empty and I smashed it to the floor.
"ALLL RIIIIGHT!" I howled, readying a blast, about to fire when I extinguished, cackling like a madman.
"Gotcha! HAHAHAHAHA! I gotcha!" I laughed, "You really think Momo was gonna let me drink that?! It was water! Water and I don't really get along!"
"So… you thought you could have a little bit of fun with Renaru Bakugou and expect him to be like some mongrel you could laugh at? Momo isn't with me because she feels bad, or finds me hilarious, she's with me 'cause I was in the right place at the right time. The fact that you tossed your married-into relatives into a seperate room from the people they married? It tells me exactly what I don't want my family to be, Married into, Bastard, half, full, pariah, I don't give a damn!" I snapped, grabbing Momo's hand and leading her out.
"Oh, and Mrs. Yaoyorozu…" I stopped, turning to her mother, "Thanks,"
I left the house, holding Momo's hand. I never wanted to let go. She was crying a little, but it was happy. She was smiling, and when we finally got out of there and back towards UA… she hugged me so tightly, crying and smiling, grinning and so joyful that finally, finally, she was out.
"So… wanna… uhm…" I mumbled, "Wanna…"
She shut me up with a kiss, her arms around me as she carried me back into the familiar confines of our dorm. Momo seemed so airy, so happy and bubbly like she was when we were in class or with our friends, she took off my suit coat, shifting aside my formal shirt and almost ripping it.
"Whoa! Whoa, careful…" I cautioned, I knew what position I was gonna be in for this time. Last time I was in control. Now she was… and she loved to take her time. Momo started by kissing me, teasingly floating between my lips and my neck, soft, gentle, and the feeling I felt, her lipsticked lips leaving marks, her soft and diligent kisses making me want to take back control.
But it was Momo's night. It was her night. She slid the dress off slowly, slowly exposing herself, a grin on her face, that shine in her eyes as she finally took it off, she just wanted to kiss me, that's all she wanted, she kissed me again, keeping me distracted.
That was the only way she could keep control, keep me occupied. That was the plan. She clambered onto me, rubbing my chest, tracing the scars I got from Stain, kissing them, she loved to take her time while usually, I overwhelmed my partner, she smiled and hinted at what she wanted to do. She slid back down to my pants, which were still on, and she unzipped them with her teeth.
Of course, my 'shooter' stood at attention, and Momo's smile turned to a wiley smirk.
"Mm…" she grunted, her mouth around it, I grabbed at the sheets, a little nervous because I'd never usually been on the bottom… her mouth felt so good, I gripped the sheets, sweat starting to pop up, she continued her diligence, her eyes staring at me, mocking me.
I groaned and she turned, her backside spread before my eyes and I smiled, "Oh? For me, Momo? How nice…" I taunted, she lowered and I set to work, I could only imagine what kind of heaven she must be going through.
I felt myself release and she removed herself from it with an audible, "Hahhh!"
She then laughed a little, "Such a good boy, hm?" she asked, "Such a good boy…" she crooned.
"Mm…" I whined a little, licking and pleading with her to lower her chest. I got the hype around why Mineta was so obsessed with them.
"Aw… sweetie, in time… you enjoy my pillows, yes?" she asked.
"Mmmm… Hmmm…" I slowly groaned, grabbing her and hating how bratty she thinks she can be. I yanked her down violently, I wanted to have them now, and the way she cried out when I did it showed me how she worked. When she was in control, she took her time, while I didn't.
"Stop… being a brat," I growled into her ear, trailing down to her pillows, kneading them, putting my mouth on one of her nipples and licking, suckling like a baby.
"Mm… Ren… Yes… take me as your victory…" she groaned, "You won…" I continued my work, kneading and closing my eyes, feeling her shift and pitch over me, her moans and cries masked by her burying her face into my long spiky and curly hair.
I pulled back, "Momo?" I asked.
"Hm? What is it?" she wondered.
"I dunno what I'm gonna do… we're gonna get married the minute we're outta here, but…" I mumbled, "What if your grandmother was right? What if history repeats…?"
"Don't worry about that, dear… what matters is that we're finally together. As one part of each other…" she said, "Besides, I love curling around you… you're so small… so vulnerable and cute… you have to watch out for wolves…" she sighed, teasing me with a smile and a soft chuckle at her own joke.
"Don't make me bust out Metallica or System of a Down again," I warned, "Plus…" I whispered, situating myself back where her pussy was, licking and licking, hearing her moan, hearing her squirm and shift, then… I pulled back.
"Momo…" I sighed pulling myself up to where I was laying on her back, arms wrapped around her waist, I slid in and she gasped.
"Huh?" she gasped, "You… you trickster, you…" she moaned.
"Haha, gotcha…" I sighed, "So… now that I have you right where I want you… do you… do you want me to keep going? Last time, I didn't ask, so…"
"Renaru… you already know the answer," she said, starting to shift against my member, I grabbed on and started to thrust in tandem with her. She moaned, "You know the answer, and the answer is YES…" she buried her face into the sheets, quieting her cries, I pulled her head back up by the hair, hearing her guttural moans and groans and soft laughing.
She was mine. She was mine. Not anyone else's but mine. Momo started to buck and I was getting to the point where there was no going back. Whatever was gonna happen was gonna happen. If we had a kid, I already know that I can make the jump to full-time.
Momo and I continued, I held on so tightly and she cried out my name at the end of it all. I fell against her, hearing her panting and I pulled back, feeling me leave the warmth, she crawled towards me and kissed me, her hair was a mess, but she pushed me back into the pillows, with one simple thing she did. She curled around me, arms around me, head against the pillows, my head against her pillows and I closed my eyes.
"Well… at least tomorrow we can forget about all of this…" I sighed.
When I was told to join Endeavor at the JP Billboard Chart event with my hero costume on and sparks ignited, I almost passed out. That event was supposed to rank HEROES. I'm just a student. I thought I wasn't counted… but, there was Copia and the Metallic Nomu I fought. So I guess their reasoning was solid.
I showed up and Moe stopped me, "Whoa whoa whoa, Hot-Shot…" she sighed.
"What? What's up?" I asked.
"Your costume… is… lackin' kid," she mumbled.
"What? What's wrong with it?" I scoffed, getting another thrown at me, I saw that it was crimson, and had a torn-up scarf be my billowing element. My sparks grouped to be through my shoulders, my mask became more ragged and intense, with tassels of flame billowing with my scarf.
"There you are, hurry! They're about to introduce you!" Endeavor said, putting his hands on my shoulders, "You made it, Renaru, you're going to officially be a hero,"
"But… what about being 'on-call'?" I asked.
"Psh, you hit the big leagues, Hot-Shot," Moe scoffed, "Besides, you're makin' history,"
I was led into the auditorium, media attention turned to me, and I felt the blazing of the cameras on my face, yelling and screaming questions, all of them were questions about how I was taking being Endeavor's apprentice, how I might become the new number two hero, or even if I had it in my blood to do it.
The media settled down once we truly began, I was nervous. I barely had time to prepare a speech, I was too busy indulging my fiance. I tensed as they started to go towards the top ten, with Ryuku becoming number ten, and then… they got to number six.
"And in the number six spot is a young prodigy among those at UA who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to save lives, from his actions at the Unforeseen Scenario Joint to inspiring the nation at the Sports Festival… give a hand to the Full Salvo Hero: Renegade!" they announced, I was numbed, Moe nudged me a little.
"That's yer cue, Hot-Shot," she said, smiling.
I stood up, my eyes clouding a little with tears, making my sparks fizzle a little bit. Making the crowd aww a little, I went up to the stage and took a deep breath… I didn't feel ready, and I glanced towards my mentor from the wings, he wasn't ignited, but he gave me a little nod and a smirk.
Feeling galvanized, I began, "Hey, uhm… wow! I never thought I'd be ranked this high, but I guess almost dying to a metal-beaked monster, a modern ninja, the epitome of evil, and the gangster with a major germ problem qualifies for a lot these days," I joked.
I earned a few laughs, "I wasn't just inspired by my mentor saving me all those years ago, but from my Mom and my brother… they pushed me to become what I am now… and, well… all those times I almost died I just… got better," I reasoned, "But that's not all, I saved one person that changed my life forever, one person that I love more and more every day I see her…" I started to feel tears stream down my cheeks, dampening my cheeks, and quenching my sparks.
"I… don't know where I'd end up if Endeavor didn't save me if I wasn't motivated to be a hero… where would I be?" I asked.
"I never thought I'd ever be worthy, every second I coughed up blood, every second I puked and sweat, I… I never thought I'd be here, accepting this rank, and I promise to rise higher and higher," I finished, hearing applause and I wiped my tears away.
But… something felt wrong. Something about today felt off. I felt as if…
Someone was waiting for this. I then saw the metal doors weld shut, I blasted through them and the media all thought it was part of some show, but I knew ever since that metallic Nomu said, "Combat data… sent," I knew that something was up.
Someone bounded up to me, "Already in trouble, eh Renegade? Jus' like Papa Endeavor, huh?" Miriko said. I remembered her from the end of the Sports Fest. She wound her arm around my shoulders, "So why'd you blast in the door?" she asked.
"Look, I dunno what this guy is after, but he's trying to bait me out," I said, feeling my phone ring against my thigh. It was Aizawa, I didn't know what he wanted, but I answered it.
"Renaru, I know you're busy, but do you know where Yaoyorozu is?"
"Sir, I saw her this morning, why?" I asked.
"She isn't here,"
"What?! Momo's never late… Did you guys check our dorm? The cameras? Anything?" I wondered, growing worried. Was Momo just playing a prank on us? No, that's not it, Momo's not the type for that at all…
"Yeah, we checked everywhere we could, not a trace of her,"
"Shit…" I cursed, seeing the TV switch on to a shot of a dingy room somewhere with a chair in the middle of the room, sitting there, head down, was her.
Momo was sitting there, untouched aside from some tubes sticking out of her. I snarled, "Shit…"
"This is a message to the future, a message that someone forgot to get the memo for," a smooth, gravelly voice said, I felt my sparks die.
"Everyone remembers the climactic battles between All For One and All Might, but what was the one thing that led to his demise? Was it All Might? No! Who fired the first shot? Who set off the end's spark…? Ah, that's right, the child that you so graciously handed a license to, the child you tossed into a battle he was nowhere NEAR ready for," the camera showed a man in a metallic mask, golden eyes burning all of us at once.
"Don't bother sending Endeavor, I'm afraid my… associates will be busy testing him, I'll be waiting for the boy, and so will his darling little woman… I'm waiting, Renegade," he growled.
Endeavor had to hold me back from running out, "LEMME GO! THAT BASTARD HAS HER! PLEASE! PLEASE LET ME GO!" I yelled, my sparks exploding to life.
"Renaru! Calm down," Endeavor ordered, "We'll formulate a plan,"
"A plan?! A plan?! Sir, every second that goes by, the more shit they're pumping into her! I gotta go!" I ranted, "She's my responsibility… and… and I let my promise down… I won't let anyone die! I won't… I gotta get her back!"
"Kid, think for one goddamn minute!" Moe shot back, "He wants to get you alone, and that's Admiral Ackbar rule Numero UNO! It'll put you and your girl in danger…"
"SO?! I'm ready to risk it!" I snarled.
"Then you're ready to receive a death wish," replied Endeavor.
"Why is she so important?" a new voice asked, a man with sandy hair and red wings stepped up, "She got a baby in her or somethin'?"
I went silent, sparking, my eyes burning. I wrenched myself out of my mentor's grip, my eyes flaring up into sparks, seeing that man look at me like I was nothing, "Listen, whoever the hell you are… you don't know a thing about me and her," I snarled, raising my hand.
"If you wanna die, then get in my way," I challenged him.
"Ooh! Seems like Papa Endeavor's bad side rubbed off on our dear little kit," Miriko said, whopping me on the head, "Quit tryin' to be a hero like All Might, didn't'cha learn teamwork n' shit?"
"I…. I just… I'm scared, okay? I'm so scared…" I sniffed, "I didn't wanna be a hero this fast, but… If I drag you all in, I'd never live with myself if I led any of you into death,"
"So that's why I need to go alone, Endeavor, I know they're after you too… but I have to face him, I have to try, because who else would? Who else knows Hosu better than me? They're in my territory, I can stop them!" I growled, "After all, that's what heroes do, right? Meddle where they shouldn't?"
"If that Metal Guy is as strong as he thinks he is… then I say, 'Bring it!' If that man is dumb enough to take my girl? Then I say, 'Let's go!' I'm gonna make sure that they know my name, I'm gonna make sure that they won't ever be able to stop hearin' it!" I snarled, breaking into a sprint out into the day, my eyes burning.
"I'm gonna find you… and I'm gonna defeat you… you took one of three people important to me. That's when the bands come OFF!" I yelled, blasting into the sky.
"Welp, one thing to say about him, the kid's got guts," Hawks stated, sighing.
"He's just a kid, and you're letting him go?!" Ryuku yelled, "How could you, Endeavor?!"
"Yeah! Normally I'm all for goin' solo, but…" Miriko trailed off, her ears going down, "This is too much for a kit like him…"
Enji was silent, watching his apprentice grow smaller and smaller in the distance, feeling a twinge of heartache at seeing him so fired up and chomping at the bit to fight this… Wolfram. He felt like he was losing another son.
He remembered those bright, red-brown eyes staring up at him through happy tears. Did he remember them clearly, seeing them so much like his…? Seeing them so cold and hard? Seeing him look so towering and ruthless?
It felt like just yesterday he was just their coffee boy, now he was on his own. His mother made him promise to keep an eye on him after he overheated.
"It's… his choice," Enji sighed, closing his eyes, knowing that nothing could sway Renaru away from his path of pain and abuse. Enji made an innocent kid a monster twice over. He wouldn't dare cry. He was out of tears.
'Renaru… please know whatever you do… it was your choice.' he thought.
