The events from last night kept playing over in my mind, Harry didn't think he deserved it. A few years ago I would have thought the same, but he's really grown up, physically and mentally I must add. Patrols was fantastic, Harry and I talked about anything and thankfully we didn't find anyone hidden in broom closets or classrooms.
We were sitting at the Gryffindor table eating breakfast waiting for Mcgonagall to come around and hand us our schedules. Everyone was pretty excited, 7th year was our last year of school and then we would be free.
Screeches were heard all over the Great Hall, that could only mean one thing. Mail time! The four of us looked up to see owls flying in. Two large black owls landed in front of Ron and I. We looked between each other, then grabbed the letters attached to the owls claws. My hands started shaking, one letter was from the ministry and one letter was from home. Both were addressed to Ron and I.
"Open the ministry one first," I said to Ron.
"Ok, I wonder what they want." Ron ripped open the letter and plunged into reading it.
His face all of a sudden turned white as a sheet, this couldn't be good. He jested the letter to me and I read.
Dear Mr and Miss Weasley,
We regret to inform you that this morning your brother Percy was killed by an accidental spell during his work at the Ministry of Magic. Your parents have be informed and may choose to contact you if means are necesarry.
We are extremly sorry for your loss,
Cornelius Fudge
Head of Magical accidents and catastropes department
Ron and I stared at each other, Percy was dead. I grabbed the letter from home, hoping for some good news, but that didn't come.
Ginny, Ron
I'm sure you got the letter from the ministry. It's true, Percy's gone. A duel broke out in the ministry between Dolores Umbridge and Pius Thickeness. One of Umbridges curses went ascew and it hit Percy as he was passing by. I AM GOING TO KILL THAT WOMAN.
I think you both ought to stay at Hogwarts, things are a bit distraught here. I'll send word when we work out a funeral date and we can organise to pull you out for that weekend.
See you soo
The letter ended there the rest of Mum's words missing and words smudged presumebly from her tears. I got up from the table and left the hall, my eyes watering. Percy and I had been close, well not since after the incident. Things hadn't been the same since then. There was only one place I wanted to be, the Astronomy tower. I ran up the stairs and curled up in a ball in the corner. I wasn't going to classes.
Harry's POV
I Looked between Ron and Ginny, they were both plastered white. I picked up the letter they had dropped on the table, Percy was dead. Oh, how I wished I had never annoyed him. He really wasn't that bad.
Ginny got up and left the table, I had to go and follow her. Ron would have Hermione to comfort him, Ginny needed me. I got up and ran from the hall, I knew exactly where she would be. The astronomy tower.
I found her exactly where I thought, curled up in a corner. I walked over to her slowly.
"Ginny, are you alright?" I asked, pretty stupid question actually, of course she wasn't.
"Does it look like I'm alright?" She tried to yell. "My brother's DEAD. I'll never see him again."
I stepped closer to her and slid down the wall next to her, I put my arm around her and hugged her tight.
"I'm sorry Ginny." I whispered.
"Why? Your not to blame. That Umbridge lady is. You never did anything wrong."
"But I did. I was never nice to him, I always hexed him and tormented him. I hung him upside down for giving us homework. I'm as much to blame as anyone."
"Don't beat yourself up Harry, it was an accident. If anything it was his own fall, he shouldn't have walked past the duel in the first place."
I hugged her close while we sat there in silence. It seemed we sat there for hours until I decided it was getting late.
"Gin, we should head to our dormitory." There was no reply, I looked down to find her asleep in my arms. That explained the quietness.
I stood up, then picked her up bridal style. Her face was blood splotched, she looked out of it. I carried her all the way to our heads dorm. It was a long way, but honestly I would do anything for her, I loved her. I dropped her down onto the couch and placed her head in my lap. Her hair was even more beautiful up close, her face even more. Her skin was smooth and felt like a silk cloud.
The day had been exhausting and I fell asleep right there and then, with the girl I loved in my arms.
Ginny's POV
I woke up, to find myself in my dorm. I looked around to see that it was dark, all but the light of the lit fireplace and a couple of lamps. I tried to get up but realised that someone was holding me, I turned around to find Harry asleep with his arm around me. Aww... He was so cute as he slept.
I couldn't hold back any longer, his lips were just there. I kissed him.
"I've been wanting you to do that since the first day I saw you." Harry smirked, I smiled and kissed him again. This time with a bit more intense. It was bliss.
"Ginny, I know this might not be the greatest time, but... umm.." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Umm... Will you be my girlfriend?"
