The night was young and the stars are out, acting as lantern for the three travellers in the meadow. Their bondfire illuminated the area where they sat and the light spread at the nearby river.
The casserole was heaven, Erwin was right when he said that the food from the restaurant was exceptional. Eren and Levi were honored to share the meal with the late commander.
"Thank you so much for the food Erwin!" Eren cheered as he patted his stomach.
"Thank you," Levi whispered, covering his mouth when he felt a burp erupt.
"Don't mention it," Erwin smiled as he tried to clean up with his one hand. Levi noticed his struggled and took the rest of the plates.
"Let me help," Levi offered.
"It's okay, I'll handle this-"
"No, I'm taking a dip in the river anyway. You should fix your bed insead." Levi reasoned as he took all the plates from the blonde Alpha. The raven felt his skin crawl with all the sweat and dust on him. He decided to take advantage of the river while it was present, it would be very hard to camp in another area that doesn't have any water such as rivers or maybe a pond.
"Oh, okay." Erwin gave him the plate and watched as the smaller male walked down the river. Then he felt Eren's hand rest on his shoulder.
"Hey, it's fine. Levi has a thing for cleaning. You should rest, we have a long day tomorrow," Eren reassured.
"Eren! You better bathe too because I'm not sleeping near your sweaty skin!" Levi called out.
"Of course! Coming honey!" Eren shouted back. He gave Erwin a wink and a thumbs up before dashing down the hill to where the Omega was busy washing the plates.
Erwin sighed as he watched the two down the river. It seems like the couple were arguing then Eren splashed water towards Levi. Erwin can hear the Omega's growl from where he stood, then the raven started chasing the brunette, kicking the water to other's direction.
Erwin smile at the sight and wondered where and when he'll meet his mate.
"Eren! Enough all ready!" Levi hissed at him when the brunette splashed him with water again. "Ugh! It's fucking cold and now I'm fucking wet!"
"Well, let me heat you up and take care of that wetness," Eren smirked at him while wiggling his eyebrows.
Levi rolled his eyes, yet a smile managed to appear on his lips. "Whatever, you're lucky that I finished cleaning the plates," the raven huffed as he pulled his shirt over his head.
"W-wait! Really?" The Alpha gaped as he watched Levi undressed. "Wait!" Eren rushed to raven and pulled the shirt back in place.
"What the? You don't want to?"
"T-That's not it!" Eren turned towards their camp. Erwin was nowhere insight, thinking that the blonde probably went to bed. But how can he be sure? Eren doesn't want anyone but him to see his mate naked.
"I'm taking a bath whether you like it or not," Levi insisted as he took off his shirt again and fling it on the brunette's arm.
"Levi!" Eren snapped at him but the raven was nowhere in sight. "Levi?" He croaked.
"Down here idiot!" Levi punched his knees.
"Oh," Looking down, he found his mate. Levi was sitting at riverbed, making the water flow right on his shoulders. The water was not that deep, barely reached Eren's thighs. So sitting in the riverbed has to do.
"Are you just going to stand there?" The raven glared at him, pulling his shirt from Eren's arm. "Wash my back will you." With a little struggle, Levi turned his back on him while he wash his clothes on the water.
"Oh, yeah." Eren pulled his shirt over his head before kneeling on the river, there were small pebbles on where they are, there was not much dirt either and the waters where clear. Eren sometimes saw a small fish passed them. He gave his shirt to Levi and the Omega started going to work, he wanted to use some detergent but he rather kept the waters clean for the marine life. So he thoroughly hand washed their clothes with only water, hoping that it will wash away the sweat and dust. When Levi deemed that the clothes were done he gave it Eren.
The Alpha stood from where he sat, he already made a makeshift clothes line with all the remaining branches that he collected. He hanged the shirts there and also took a peek at Erwin, making sure that blonde Alpha was asleep before going back to Levi.
Eren started splashing water on the raven's back while Levi runs the water on his arms. It was peaceful, only the waters and the cicadas tunes filled the air. Until Eren scooped water from his hand and poured it on Levi's head.
"Jesus! That's cold!" Levi shrieked.
Eren laughed and hugged his mate close, locking his arms around Levi's waist, before falling on his back. Taking the Omega with him as they submerged underwater.
The raven gasped for only water to enter his mouth. Panicking, Levi elbowed his mate until he was free and jolted up, coughing up water.
"Hahahaha!" Eren laughed as he sat up right.
"You idiot!" Levi gritted his teeth, turning back at his Alpha with glare. But the said anger towards the brunette slowly dies down when he watched as Eren laughed and running hus hand to pushed back his bangs. Levi can only think one thing: This idiot will the death of him. Without warning, Levi placed his lips on his mate.
Eren's eyes blown wide as he felt Levi's lips on him. He quickly recovered and wholehearted kissed him back, tasting his Omega, savouring the hint of vanilla in his mouth. But this time, he allowed Levi take control. The Omega forced Eren down on the river until then Alpha is keeping himself up the water with his elbows.
"Whoa. That was hot," Eren smirked at the raven when he parted. The brunette really liked seeing Levi on top of him.
"Your laugh is hideous, I have to shut you up." Levi replied calmly yet the heat spreading on his face tells otherwise.
"Then, I should laugh some more," Eren purred.
"Then, I have no choice but to shut you up," Levi smirked as he slowly crawled up to the Alpha's chest. He didn't missed how Eren eyes grew wide as he moved seductively. The water was cold with the night's cool breeze and Levi knew exactly how to fix their freezing skin.
"Levi! No!" Eren shouted as he sat up, both hands flew on the Omega's shoulder, pushing the confused raven off him.
"No?" Levi growled. The raven seldom initiated sex and being rejected by HIS Alpha felt like someone went in his house with their shoes on and started trailing dirt.
"Look, I can exlplain!" Eren held both hands up.
"Well, let me hear it before I'll hold off the sex for the next six weeks," Levi threatened.
"No! Please!" Eren pleaded. "Just... hear me out... please?"
"Go on," Levi crossed his arms on his chest.
"If... If we continue, I might not stop..." Eren explained sheeply. "Because... Ihaveathingformermaids!"
Levi stared at him. "What?"
"I... I have a thing for... mermaids..." Eren repeated shyly.
"Mermaids," Levi said dumbfounded. "What- what does mermaids have to do with what we are about to do?!" He exclaimed with pent up frustration.
"You!" Eren pointed at him. "You looked like a mermaid earlier!" He explained, desperation trailed in his voice.
"Me?"
"Yes! You! With all the water flowing, how you crawled into me, how you look at me like wanted to devour me!" Eren panted as it he was lossing his mind, which is happening right now. The simple reminder of how Levi crawled on top of him, under the night sky, in the river with those blue-stormy eyes zoned at him. Eren can't handle it.
"Well," Levi breathe. "I guess, it's not that hard to make a tail with sheets, right?"
"Levi..." Eren rest both hands on the raven shoulder as he started trembling at the imagery that Levi made him imagine. "Levi, I love you and I think this is not the right place for such a intimate lovemaking, right?" He asked, blood dripping from his nose.
"Noted. Let's go, I'm sleepy." With that Levi stood and left Eren sitting in the river with his nose dripping.
As Levi wore his fresh clothes that he set aside by the dry rocks, he heard Eren followed him to shore.
"Levi... ummm... If it's okay... To.. You know, if we stop by a town on our way that had an inn... ummm... Can you be my mermaid then?" Eren asked timidly.
Levi can't help but smile. Though he asked himself why does he love this dork?
