Chapter 22

(Kara's POV)

I had tried to curl up and sleep; good luck with that. I looked over at Bee's holoform; he looked scared I know he was worried about Optimus.

"Hey Bee, he'll be alright." I said as suddenly Bee spun as 2 black 4x4's blocked his escape.

I knew instantly it was Cemetery Wind; and Bumblebee's engine raced as his holoform tried to figure out a means of escape.

"You have to ram them, Bee." I said as I heard a soft whine come from him; he didn't want to hurt humans none of the Autobots did.

However just as Bee was going to ram them missiles shot through the air hitting one of the 4x4's; then we saw what had caused the vehicle to explode. It was Barricade and he had the Dreads with him.

"Come on, Bug, hurry up!" Barricade ordered as he fired on Cemetery Wind.

"Go ahead, Bee," I replied as Bee followed Barricade while the Dreads took care of the last Cemetery Wind vehicle.

It was still weird for me to see Decepticons helping Autobots too weird.

"There's a sight you won't see every day Decepticons saving our necks, huh Bee?" I asked as Bee glanced over at me and forced a smile.

"He'll be alright, Bee; Kat won't let anything happen to him, I promise." I said as Bumblebee glanced at me.

"Thank you, Kara," Bumblebee said as he looked away almost shyly then glanced back.

My little Bumblebee...

Oh my God, did I just think that? You know what I did; and it felt damn good too.

We followed Barricade to a deserted airfield where Bumblebee transformed keeping me in his hand.

"Thank you for the backup, Barricade," Bumblebee said as Barricade nodded as his optics landed on me.

"Is she trustworthy, Bug?" he demanded as I huffed at that.

"Of course I am trustworthy, would I be here if I wasn't?" I snarked.

Barricade huffed then.

"I asked that because apparently some humans have betrayed the Autobots," Barricade replied as the Dreads arrived. "Did you squish them?" Barricade asked the Dreads.

"Yeah, they won't be bothering anyone else," one of them said as Barricade nodded and glanced back at us.

"We are to wait here for Megatron; he was going after your leader to help him." Barricade said.

"Kat is with him but the extra backup would be good for him too." I said as Barricade narrowed his optics at me.

"Was I addressing you?" Barricade finally demanded.

"No, but there is nothing wrong with me talking, Cade," I simply said.

"What the slag did you call me?" Barricade demanded.

I fell silent then... Whoops.

"I called you Cade; it's a nick name like I call Bumblebee Bee." I answered.

"Well stop it; I did not give you clearance for that." Barricade grumped.

"Well whoop the freaking do," I mumbled as Barricade stomped over toward us.

"Keep your pet in line, bug!" Barricade yelled.

"I am not a pet," I retorted.

Barricade glanced down at me then.

"You are in my opinion," Barricade said snidely.

"Bite me," I growled.

Barricade looked at me then; and his expression changed completely and he started to laugh of all things.

"What's wrong with him?" I asked Bumblebee who just shrugged.

"You kept up with my insults and had pretty good comebacks you're alright, human." he said shocking me.

"My name is Kara, Cade," I said with a smirk as he rolled his optics then.

"Barricade," he said.

"Cade," I shot back.

He growled and stomped away, as I looked at Bumblebee and grinned.

"Kara 1 and Cade 0," I said.

"I heard that," Barricade remarked.

"I know," I laughed as even the Dreads laughed.

"What the slag are you laughing about?" Cade demanded as the Dreads continued to laugh as Cade looked at me throwing his servos into the air. "Slagging human femme," he said.

(Normal POV)

(With Ratchet and Ironhide)

:::::::::::...Ratchet come in, it's Starscream we are overheard follow us we will take you to where we are all meeting at...:::::::::

::::::::::... We see you, is there any sign of Optimus...::::::::: Ratchet asked.

:::::::::... No, but Soundwave got a link on them; Megatron along with Predaking are going to get them...::::::::

::::::::... Alright...::::::: Ratchet said through the commlinks as both he and Ironhide slammed on their brakes as in front of them stood Lockdown.

Ironhide transformed his anger full blast; he hated Lockdown and figured he was after Optimus.

"Where's your leader hiding, weapons specialist?" Lockdown demanded as his Vehicons transformed in back of him.

Starscream and his trine had the element of surprise and took it; and flew down firing at the Vehicons shocking Lockdown.

"Decepticons protecting Autobots," Lockdown said in surprise. "Then you will die too," Lockdown snarled.

Ironhide's cannons whirled to life; while Ratchet floored his speed and hit Lockdown full force knocking the bounty hunter into a building. Ironhide took out some of the Vehicons as did the Trine.

"Come on, Ratch!" Ironhide ordered as Ratchet took off with Ironhide as the Trine led them away from Lockdown who was a little more than just angry; he was livid!
