Hello,

Hope you enjoy this new chapter!

"We need to sort this situation out someway or another, let's fight, we may, and probably will, die. But we will die in glory and with honour, showing that we did, in fact, try our very best at defeating An Ling." Master Shifu announced a couple of hours after everyone had woken up.

"I agree." Tigress nodded.

"Me too," Viper grinned. "I want to feel like we put our very best efforts towards fighting An Ling,"

Mutters of agreement floated around the group.

"Then everyone get ready, prepare yourself." Master Shifu ordered, reaching up a paw to open the hatch on the roof.

Everyone nodded and he pushed the hatch door open.

Master Shifu's POV

The area looked deserted; the grass was trampled on but there was no-one I could see.

"Prepare yourself." I whispered again at the others. "I think It'll be a sneak attack."

They nodded and cautiously, I stepped one paw out of the hatch and onto the ground, then the other.

My ears twitched furiously and my eyes whizzed around, stopping and causing me to completely freeze whenever I saw or heard the slightest thing.

But there was none. No noise, no sight of any warriors. We were alone.

My breathing subsided its pace but I didn't drop my guard completely as I straightened up and began heading towards the plains their canons were stationed on.

The others had followed me out too, and I glanced back repeatedly to check they were all still there.

Monkey's POV

We crept along silently behind Master Shifu.

My arm was throbbing painfully, and I felt my head spina gain from lack of food and dehydration.

I was about to ask if we could stop for a minute, when I felt something long and thick close in around my legs. It felt like a rope, but I knew, somehow, I knew even before I looked, it wasn't a rope, it was a snake.

The snakes had seized their chance and jumped out at us, with our backs turned, they'd pounced and now everyone was trapped by the way their bodies coiled around us like rope.

"Ah, so how did your fantastic plan go?" An Ling's snide voice returned to our ears and he appeared beside us.

An sneered and he lashed his tail importantly. "You know I'm starting to think there's just too many warriors in China, why don't we get rid of a few?" he asked rhetorically to one of the other snakes, a large golden python, who nodded stupidly.

"Hmm, I wonder who to get rid of first." He jeered, slithering around us, sizing us up.

His large eyes lingered on Tigress and Po instantly started shaking against the rope snakes binding, puce with anger.

"You lay a finger on her and you are so dead!" he warned threateningly, his jade eyes proclaiming, not a joyful, spring feeling, but a dangerous one, an incredibly dangerous one.

An Ling rolled his eyes at this response, not even acknowledging the threats on death made against him. "Of course you two are romantically involved," he twisted around so he was beside them, admiring their gold wedding rings. "And married! Well, stay together till death do us part, so why don't I only kill one of you and then you'll truly be separated?"

Viper's POV

"Don't even think about hurting either of them!" I cried, lashing my tail around, as the other snake was coiled around me so tightly, I could scarcely breath.

"Viper, Viper you always make such a spectacle of things, don't you? Oh well, only one way to truly hurt you." The snake leered and he called the snakes coiling around Crane towards him.

"Don't worry, I won't kill him. Well, not immediately."

I was positively shaking with rage. "Let go of him right this instant." I threatened in a low, hissing voice, I'd never heard myself use before.

"No, I won't kill him," the snake continued, oblivious to my threats. "I think I'll lock him in a cupboard for a night, he'd probably be dead by a couple of hours anyway from terror."

Now this sent me reeling. He didn't just want to kill him, he wanted to torture him, using his very worst fear.

I hissed loudly and wriggled with all my might, to get out of the snakes coiled clutches.

The snake wrinkled his nose and pushed Crane away, relaxing me a little. "Then again, maybe~" he began but was cut off by Susan.

Susan's POV

"Stop!" I shouted.

Everyone looked at me and, with great difficulty, I wriggled a little so I was closer to the snake.

"Something to say?" An inquired in a bored voice. "I've heard it all before you know, all the hero nonsense."

"Yes, I'm the Spirit of Yin." I answered defiantly.

My breath caught in my throat, my stomach twisted into a knot and sweat rolled down my neck in large beads.

Please believe me, for everyone's sake, please.

"You are, are you?" An Ling asked, looking surprised and a little tentative.

"What the flipping hell are you doing?" grunted Mantis, with his mouth closed, as he sat in another tiny, barred cage.

"You'll see." I whispered back.

"How do I know you're not lying?" An demanded, his tail thrashing the ground repeatedly.

"Well, I'm the spirit Yin because, A. I'm female, that's an important one. B, I know every nook and cranny of the Yin and yang palace, C. Yang's favourite colour was gold, he loved singing, he used to practise writing plays in his room and he adored having an extremely messy desk, he said it gave him, intellectual freedom."

"How do I know you're not just making all this up?"

"Test me, any room in the house, where any object is," I replied testily.

I felt confident now, ready. I could do it.

"Where is the golden trident of vanishing objects then?" he asked, his nose turning up distastefully.

"That's a thing?" Po asked excitedly, causing Master Shifu to glower at him.

"Fifth floor, second drawing room, glass and gold cabinet." I answered at once.

I've been in the second drawing room many times before, I knew every object in that cabinet and every property of it.

"The vase of history?" he tested again, snarling now.

"Eighth floor, fourth living room, grand piano case." I answered instantly again.

That was where me and yang hang out the most during my stay, where he would teach me how to play piano.

"Alright, say you are the Spirit Yin, what do you want?"

"Well, I'm offering myself up, you only need to kill me, then all those other creatures are released from the underworld, you needn't hurt the others at all."

I heard the others gasps and Monkey's voice cry; "Edith, what are you doing?"

An Ling cocked his head to one side and then the other, as if he was sizing up his choices.

"Done," he hissed and stabbed a knife, curled in his tail, straight into my chest.

I felt intense pain, agony even, tear into my chest and my vision blurred into nothing but colours, shrill voices drifted in and out of my ears, I couldn't make out what they were saying.

I felt myself drop to the floor and clasped a paw to my chest feeling warm liquid gush onto it.

My eyes were slowly beginning to close, the pain was leaving me, now I could see nothing, and hear nothing.

Hi, (Sniff)

Well that wasn't a great ending to that chapter was it? Sorry about that, stay tuned for the next one.

Btw, if you're confused, Susan knew everything about the palace and Yang, because she stayed there for a very long time when she was younger remember?

Cool, if you're a fan of Harry Potter, I've just started a new story in which the KFP characters go to Hogwarts, so please do go and check that out and I'll see you there, or here, wherever I next update.
