Midnight Lycanroc- Butter Me Up
It was night time in the forest, meaning all was quiet. However, there were a few nocturnal creatures who were active at this time. One such creature was dashing through the forest, unafraid of anything in its patch as it jumped over logs, ran through tall grass, and burst through bushes.
Eventually, the Pokemon came to a clearing, where a large boulder stood illuminated by the full moon above. The Midnight Form Lycanroc jumped onto the boulder and lifted its head up towards the moon. His red eyes took in the moonlight, and his mouth opened up in a smile filled with dastardly glee. Lycanroc then threw his head back and let out a loud howl at the moon.
However, Lycanroc stopped suddenly right in the middle of his howling. Frozen in his howling position, Lycanroc eyes darted around as his nose twitched. Lycanroc sniffed the air vigorously, trying to catch the unfamiliar scent that had interrupted his howling.
Lycanroc lowered his head and hopped off of the boulder. His nose worked in overdrive as he hunched down slightly, following the subtle trace of the odd let strangely attractive scent.
Eventually, Lycanroc came to the edge of a campground, complete with a pit for a campfire and a picnic-table. The moment he stepped into the area, Lycanroc detected the tell-tale scent of humans, and he immediately stood up straight and gasped with fright. He dived behind a nearby tree and stood with his back pressed behind it. He also lifted up his long forearms to cover his eyes with forepaws.
He stood like that for a moment, and then he slowly uncovered his face as he listened for any nearby movement. He eventually overcame his fear of humans enough to peek out from behind the tree. His eyes saw that the camp was currently unoccupied, and his nose once again picked up the strange scent that had brought him there.
Lycanroc stepped into the camp, following the scent towards the picnic table. He sniffed twice, and then dropped down on all fours to look underneath the table. Lying on the ground was a nearly empty clear plastic jar with a brownish-tan colored paste smeared inside of it.
Curious, Lycanroc grabbed the jar with his forepaws and stood back up on his hind legs. He sniffed at it, confirming that it rally was the source of the smell that had brought him here. He ran the claws of his left paw through his mane thoughtfully as he considered what to do next. Eventually, curiosity won out, and he flexed his left claws dexterously right before clamping them around the lid of the jar. He gave it a quick twist, and the lid came off easily. He tossed it over his shoulder, and it landed on top of the picnic table.
The smell was a bit stronger now, and it really enticed Lycanroc a great deal. He examined the paste smeared on the sides and bottom of the jar for a moment, and then he stuck one of the digits of his left forepaw into the jar. He scooped a tiny bit of the paste on the tip of his claw, and then held it close to his face. His eyes betrayed a sense of trepidation as he considered what could happen. However, the enticing smell seemed to be toying with him, and he found himself unable to resist for much longer.
Lycanroc's tongue licked up the peanut butter on his claw.
His red eyes went wide as the white part of his mane stood up and his tail wagged like crazy. Breathing heavily, Lycanroc looked down into the peanut butter jar he was holding. He let out a joyful growl that sounded like laughter, and then he literally shoved his snout into the jar.
He gripped the jar with both forepaws as his lounge went crazy while inside of it. Lycanroc worked to get every bit of the new treat off the sides of the jar and into his mouth. His head was tilted backwards as he stepped backwards while moving around in circles, zig-zags, and the occasional straight line. He was oblivious to the world around him as he was focused on the incredible taste that was coating his tongue.
He actually twirled around joyfully right before falling flat on his back, all the while continuing to lick the inside of the jar. Lycanroc eventually opened his eyes when he found that all his tongue could taste was plastic. He whimpered sadly as he saw that he had completely cleaned out the jar.
Lycanroc whined, clearly sad that it was all over, and gave the jar a tug to remove it from his snout. However, he found that the jar wouldn't budge. Lycanroc gave a harder tug with both his forepaws, only to get the same result. Growling, Lycanroc stood up on his feet and tightened his grip on the jar. He gave it a series of sharp tugs, growling with growing frustration as he put his back into pulling his snout out of the jar.
Lycanroc was once again stepping around in random directions, not paying attention to his surroundings. Growling and groaning, Lycanroc kicked out his left leg and hopped backwards on his right leg as he pulled the jar with all his might. However, he suddenly froze completely still as he noticed something in his peripheral vision. He looked down and slightly behind him, and saw that during his attempts to get the jar off, he had walked and hopped through the woods and right towards the edge of a tall cliff. Right now, his right foot was on the very edge of the cliff, with his body leaning precariously out over the side of it.
Lycanroc tried to keep himself from moving a muscle as he stood balanced on one leg on the edge of the cliff. He kept his breaths slow and deep, fogging up the inside of the empty jar as he breathed in and out, as he looked towards his lifted left leg. He then began to slowly bring his leg back down to the ground. However, the part of the cliff his right foot was on suddenly broke off, sending Lycanroc falling backwards over the side.
Lycanroc cried out in fear, but then suddenly stopped when he found that his decent had suddenly stopped. He realized that he was hanging upside down, and when he looked upwards, he saw that he had grabbed onto the ledge with his left foot out of instinct.
Lycanroc blinked his eyes, and then let out a sigh of relief muffled by the jar on his snout. At that moment, the part of the ledge his foot claws were dug into crumbled away, sending Lycanroc falling down once again.
Lycanroc howled as he flailed his limbs around in desperation, tumbling in mid-air. However, his descent was unexpectedly halted once again. He struck a forked branch of a plant growing out of the side of the cliff, face-first. The next thing Lycanroc knew, he was hanging like a ragdoll from the jar, which was now caught snug in the forked branch.
Lycanroc growled indignantly at this, but his whole body suddenly became rigid with fear when he felt his snout begin to slip out of the jar. Lycanroc kicked his legs in a panic as he felt his snout begin to slip further and further out of the jar. But then his panicking stopped when he felt his feet brush against something below him.
Lycanroc chanced a glance downward, and relief washed over him when he saw that his feet were only about an inch or two off of the ground.
He flashed a smile within the jar, and then brought his attention to the jar as he saw an easy way out of his problem. Lycanroc put his feet on the ground, and the tightly grabbed the branch with his forepaws. He took a few steps back, pulling his snout hard, silently cheering as he felt his snout slip further and further out of the jar. He could feel his snout just about ready to pop right out.
Suddenly, the branch sprang upwards like a catapult, flinging Lycanroc face-first into the side of the cliff, and then tossing him back down to the ground hard.
Slightly dazed, Lycanroc slowly sat up, and his eyes looked down at his snout. Now the jar was wedged on tighter than ever.
Lycanroc roared with rage and stamped his feet in anger. He threw himself onto the ground and spun in a circle while lying on his side as he pulled at the jar some more while kicking his legs wildly. Lycanroc rolled onto his belly and pounded the ground with his fists, until an idea suddenly came to him, halting him in is tracks yet again.
Lycanroc stared at the ground for a bit, then he used a claw on his right forepaw to carve an X into the ground. Then, he positioned his snout, and the empty jar, right on top of the X.
Lycanroc took a deep breath, raised his right paw, and slammed it right into the ground. One second later, a Stone Edge attack burst out of the ground, right where the X was, catching Lycanroc in the snout and catapulting him into the air.
Lycanroc howled loudly as he was sent flying, until he quickly landed hard enough to make him bounce three times before coming to a stop face flat and spread eagled.
Lycanroc opened his right eye, and then his left eye. He looked down his snout, and smiled gleefully when he saw that the jar was gone. He howled with delight as he rolled over onto his back. He snickered darkly, proud at his own cleverness, and then looked up at the night sky above.
His stargazing was interrupted when he spotted something falling right towards him. Lycanroc's eyes went wide when he realized it was the empty jar, and cried out in fear right before covering his eyes with his forepaws. The was the sound of a loud impact, and then silence. Lycanroc uncovered his eyes, and looked to his left to see the empty jar imbedded into the ground a few inches away from his head.
Lycanroc laughed as he jumped up on his feet, pointing mockingly at the object. He then gave the jar a swift kick with his right foot, only to wince in pain and stumble back a bit. This angered Lycanroc enough to make him stomp on the jar several times with his left foot. After that, he let out a sigh and turned away from it, intended on getting far away from it. However, he stopped in his tracks when he saw that there was a mid-sized house right in front of him.
Lycanroc whimpered at first, fearful of any nearby humans, but then is excellent night-vision spotted something in one of the windows. He quickly ran over to the window and pressed his forepaws and face against the glass. Inside the kitchen, resting on the kitchen counter near the window, was a full jar of peanut butter.
Lycanroc's tongue lolled out hungrily as he panted loudly and drooled excessively. He drew his right paw back to punch the glass, but stopped and gave it some careful thought. He eventually shook his head and quickly backed away from the window. He ran his claws through his mane as he tried to think of some way of getting in without attracting any attention.
Lycanroc walked alongside the house, stopping at the front door. He examined the door, and quickly noticed the flap on the bottom. Lycanroc knelt down and pushed on it with his right forepaw. He then gave it a quick punch, and the latch on the other side broke, allowing the flap to open.
Lycanroc snickered gleefully, and he quickly crawled on all fours through the flap. However, his hindlegs and haunches got stuck, causing him to faceplant as soon as he entered. He let out a low growl and quickly pulled his hindlegs through, and then stood up to survey his surroundings.
Lycanroc looked into the kitchen area, and immediately spotted the jar of peanut butter. He smiled eagerly and took a step forward, only to have his foot slip on the vinyl flooring. This caused both of Lycanroc's feet to slip and slide on the floor, but he kept his eye on the jar and half stumbled, half slipped his way across the floor and over to the kitchen counter.
He slapped his arms down onto the counter to support himself, and grinned eagerly at the jar of peanut butter. Lycanroc wasted no time snatching the jar and grabbing the lid with his claws. He gave it a twist, but growled impatiently when the lid didn't budge. He opened his mouth, put the jar between his jaws, and used Crunch.
Lycanroc spat out the shattered pieces of the lid, and then snickered giddily as he held the jar in his right paw and then pushed his left paw through the seal and into the jar. He then pulled out a paw full of peanut butter. His tail started wagging as the scent of peanut butter drifted into his nose. He was so overcome with joy that his legs got a little weak, which then caused his feet to slip on the kitchen floor, sending him falling flat on his back.
The jar fell from Lycanroc's paw and rolled off towards the center of the kitchen. Pulling his paw out of his mouth, Lycanroc quickly rolled over onto his stomach and tried to stand up quickly, but his feet immediately slipped over the floor, keeping him from standing up.
Lycanroc whined and slapped the floor with his left paw, but paused when he felt it stick to the floor. He stared at his paw as he slowly lifted it off of the floor, and noticed the sticky peanut butter print left on the vinyl surface. Lycanroc wiggled the digits of his thickly coated paw, and smiled as an idea came to him.
Lycanroc rolled onto his back and pulled his hind legs in. He then reached out with his left arm and began to smear the peanut butter on his paw onto the bottoms of both of his feet.
Satisfied with is work, Lycanroc jumped up onto his feet, and grinned proudly as he relished in the fact that his feet were no longer slipping on the floor. He then excitedly turned towards the jar of peanut butter, and practically skipped over to it and scooped it out of the ground.
Lycanroc shoved his left paw back into the jar, brought out another paw full of peanut butter, and then shoved it into his mouth. His eyes rolled upwards as he moaned with pleasure, savoring the incredible taste sensation of the sticky treat. He repeated this motion several times, and then slid his paw around and around inside the jar to get out every last bit of peanut butter. Eventually, the jar was more or less clean, much to Lycanroc's dismay.
Lycanroc sighed sadly as he stared into the empty jar. He whimpered and whined a bit, then he placed it gently on the kitchen counter. Lycanroc briskly walked over to the front door, and the flap through which he entered. He turned around to take one last look at the empty jar, but his eyes were immediately drawn down to the floor. Clear as day, Lycanroc could a trail of his own sticky footprints on the floor.
Lycanroc eyes widened slightly, and a sense of worry built up inside him. Then, he promptly dropped to the floor and quickly crawled out through the flap. He face-planted on the other side of it, but quickly pulled his hind legs through and started running out into the nearby woods.
Once within the forest, Lycanroc stopped to lean against a tree and let out a sigh. He panted loudly, a combination of exhaustion from running and fear making him tired. He slid down the side of the tree and into a seated position as he caught his breath. He took a quick glance back the way he came, only for his mane to stand up in fright when he saw that he had still left behind a trail of footprints during his flight.
Lycanroc howled in fear, and quickly jumped up and started running in a random direction. As he ran, he repeatedly looked behind him, positive that he was being followed by a group of angry humans. However, he failed to pay attention to where he was going, and ended up tripping over a fallen log and falling off of a ledge and down into a small pond with a tremendous splash.
Lycanroc frantically paddled through the water, quickly reaching the shore where he crawled back onto dry land, panting even louder and harder than before. He rolled onto his back and stared at the body of water he had landed in. Then, he took a good look at his feet. A look of delight came upon him as he realized that the water had cleaned the peanut butter off of his feet. Fully relieved, Lycanroc let out a confident snicker and laid himself down on his back, with his arms folded behind his head. There, he relaxed beneath the bright, full moon.
