Wow. I mean just - wow. The first chapter in a new post-Hidden World fanfiction series really kicked Wings of War off to a great start, if I do say so myself. The sequel, The Tides Return, is completed, though I must warn you, it takes place about thirteen years after this.

So don't be surprised that

Zephyr is Chieftess

Pheda is in her early twenties - still looking for the General, the missing New-Berkians, and Lindyr.

I will be swapping perspectives - as in, sometimes I will be writing from the perspective of Pheda, sometimes from the perspective of Honest (well, I guess I sort of did that in this one, but still. . .), and sometimes from the perspective of Everlynh, a thirteen-year-old who is searching for her parents (I probably could have done a better job at portraying that, but whatever), and Starflinger, one of the Night Furies.

It should be up in a week or so, but don't pin me. It all depends on how the third Wings of War is coming along, since The Tides Return has a rather. . . cliffy ending, and I don't wanna keep you guys waiting. What? I couldn't resist.

Now for some epilogue explanations:

Why did the Night Fury eggs hatch if they were that old?

I have absolutely no idea. That detail is a product of my imagination, and nothing else.

Why did I want them to hatch?

Because the fact that the Night Furies went totally extinct because of ONE GUY is MESSED UP. And besides, I had two pre-made OCs I wanted in here, one of which you got a glimpse of in the epilogue (I'm not gonna tell you which one it is though. Take a guess!). The one that Honest broke out of the shell is my OC Starflinger, the blue-scaled one is Moonshadow, my friend's OC, and the other two are Onyx and Spirit, who were (mostly) generated exclusively for this series.

You'll get a better look at the Furies in The Tides Return, along with a snippet of the Berkian lore from RTTE at the very end. Okay fine. It's probably a bit more than a snippet. I did leave a hint about it in Wings of War. It's when Zephyr was talking with the General. I just realized I forgot which chapter that is. . . ahh some kind of fanfiction writer I am, lol. Honestly, I haven't done ANYTHING with this particular installment of Wings of War since I wrote it, some time last year. Anyways. . .

Thank you, so very much, all of you who took the time to read this fanfic of mine, whether you reviewed, favorited, followed, or not. It means so much to me.

And also, I believe a quick shout-out to FangirlAuthor430 is in order. If I hadn't gotten the notification for your first review in my inbox, the updating of Wings of War would have waited an extra day. When I saw the email, I just went, "Oh, forget it. The Epilogue is going up right now, and that is that."

Thanks for reviewing. That came at just the right time. I swear, I am going to read that every time I need motivation to keep writing the third book of Wings of War. And in answer to your question, yes, Hiccup and Astrid are ok. I probably glossed over that too much. . . whatever. I'll just have to make a mental note to not gloss over stuff like that in the future.

If you're looking for a new fanfiction to read, check out LissaFish's Selene (incomplete), and Flitt's I Am Dragonblood (complete series), on the School of Dragons Forums.

I leave you with an HTTYD Cinematic of one of my favorite songs, The Flight of the Silverbird, by Thomas Bergersen. XD I love epic music.

Since the link refuses to go on here, google search "the flight of the silverbird httyd" and click/tap on the video posted by the channel "theNightFuryfan95"

For the fanfictions I recommended, go to "forum . school of dragons .com" (without the spaces, of course) and type either "I am Dragonblood" or "Selene" into the mini search engine in the upper right corner of the site depending on which one you want to read.

*note*

the first book of I Am Dragonblood is called "Fury's Friend"

Until next time,

Storm
