"It seems to me that there is no way out of this."
Sango groaned. "We came to you to help us find a way out, monk!"
"I'm just speaking the truth. From what I have gathered from both of your descriptions, the only options are to risk rejection or die. Aren't there more treatments in the future, Lady Kagome?"
The woman in question shifted in her seat. "Well," she started, "There is surgery where they open a person up and forcibly unroot the plant."
"Then why-"
"Because," she interrupted, "The patient will lose all feelings of love and possibly their memories of that person. While I have no problem with that since I don't know who it is, there are also cases of people losing all ability to romantically love another person ever again! Not to mention a risk of dying on the operation table and it's costly!" She sighed. "Miroku is right. There is no way out."
AN: I love this trope so much :) It hurts but that's why I love it!
