One day at class, Marinette invited her father to show the kids how to make his famous pastries. "I'll let you in on a little secret. I always add cream to the chocolate to make the ganache extra velvety. Then I let infuse for one minute."

"I love it when your dad comes to class and gives us pastry lessons," Alya whispered in Marinette's ear.

"So does he!"

As usual, Chloe spoiled the fun. "Urgh! Do they seriously think I'm going to get my hands dirty, cooking like some maid? If I want a croissant, I'd just make my butler get it for me."

"He's not making croissants, Chloé," Rose corrected her. "Those are macaroons!"

Rudi scoffed. "Don't bother with her. She wouldn't know a croissant from a pie!" Chloe growled at him.

Tom continued his lesson, "It's all done with a flick of the wrist. But you mustn't go too fast or you might splash yourself!"

"And soil my Chenal pants? Who's he kidding?"

Rudi growled, "If you don't have something nice to say, Chloe, just shut up."

"Look at this lovely emulsion." Tom showed his work and everyone awed. Everyone except Chloe. With a shifty look in her eyes, she snuck off, dialed her phone and whispered into it. "Now we need to chill it for half an hour. Marinette?"

Marinette jumped after hearing her name. "Yes, Dad?"

"Could you put this in the school cafeteria fridge for me, please? In the meantime, I'm going to show your friends how to whip up egg whites!"

Marinette took the bowl with the mix in it and left the classroom just as Chloe returned to the group. Before Tom could continue his lesson, the alarm suddenly went off and the ceiling sprinklers turned on.

Miss Bustier quickly calmed everyone down. "Quietly, students. Single file line, please. Just keep moving."

Once everyone was outside, Principal Damocles gathered everyone outside the school's courtyard. By his side was the fire captain and neither men looked happy. "So, some smart aleck had the bright idea of calling the fire department. Somebody amongst us thought it would be funny to waste the fire captain's valuable time."

"Yes, in fact, if you wouldn't mind I..."

Principal Damocles interrupted him. "Hold on! I want the guilty party to apologize to you."

"I'm sure it was Chloé," whispered Marinette to Alya. "I saw her on her phone right before the alarm went off!"

"You seeing her make a phone call isn't solid proof."

Marinette sighed. She had to admit, Alya was right. Her word wasn't good enough.

Chloe raised her hand. "Mr. Damocles, sir?"

"Yes, Miss Bourgeois?"

"I saw a student leaving the classroom right before the alarm went off. It must have been her."

"Really? Who was it?"

"Let's see if she'll come clean. What do you say, Marinette Dupain-Cheng?" Almost all the students gasped at Chloe's accusation.

"Figures," Rudi said to himself. "Always play the blame game with Marinette." He then said out loud, "You don't really believe her, don't you? Why would Marinette sabotage her own father?"

"And I know for a fact that Marinette didn't even have her phone on her when she went out of the classroom," said Alya.

The fire captain nudged Mr. Damocles. "Mr. Damocles, I must be heading out."

"Just one more second. We're very close to discovering the truth."

The fire captain groaned. He wasn't going to get back to work at this rate.

"Oh well, we all know it can't be me!" Chloe said with smugness.

Marinette seethed with anger. "I'm not gonna let her get away with this. I've gotta tell..."

Adrien put a hand on her shoulder. "Hang on, Marinette. We don't know for sure it was her."

"He's right. Let's not stoop to her level," said Alya.

"What's stopping her?" Rudi asked, shifting his eyes at Chloe.

"I really have to leave now. Just call me if you find out who the prankster is," the fire captain said. He turned to leave but the principal stopped him again and said to the students, "Fine. Since no one is owning up, the whole school will be punished."

Everyone, even the fire captain groaned.

Rudi raised his hand. "Excuse me, I get why you're punishing us, but why is he getting punished? A school principal cannot keep a man from doing his job!"

The principal glanced at the fire captain, who nodded. "Fine. I'll call you when the culprit fesses up. But the punishment for the students still stands!"

"What?! I'm not so sure my father will react kindly to me being punished without any proof!" Chloe reached for her phone and prepared to dial it.

Mr. Damocles waved his hands. "Oh, no! Please, don't disrupt the busy mayor." He cleared his throat. "The whole school is punished except for Miss Bourgeois!"

"Hold up! The mayor has no jurisdiction to control the school," shouted Rudi. "He's not a member of the school board!"

Chloe grabbed him by the wrist. "Listen here, you. I can make things heck for your family if you say stuff like that. I have ways of persuading Daddy to have you and your family deported."

Rudi scoffed. "You and your fat father don't scare me."

Chloe then smirked. "What about Walter?" Rudi's eyes widened. "Yeah. That's what I thought. So, here's the deal. You keep your fat mouth shut and I won't have Walter haul your butt all the way back to Germany."

Rudi's eyes flashed green.

What was the students' punishment? Everyone was to to janitorial work. Everyone except Chloe. She just sat on a bench, checking her phone. When Rose swept a broom past her feet, she snapped at her, "Can't you see I'm trying to relax here? Go sweep somewhere else, Cinderella." Rose cried and walked off.

Adrien, who was washing the windows, frowned at her. He put the rag into the bucket and marched up to the spoiled blonde. She smiled at him when she saw him, ignorant of the angry frown he had. "Adrikins," she said happily.

"I know it was you who did it, Chloe."

"Of course it was me who called the fire department. So what?"

"And it doesn't bother you that everyone's being punished because of you?"

"No. Why would it? They all seem to enjoy getting dirty making cookies. How's it any different than getting dirty, cleaning floors? They should be thanking me if anything."

Adrien shook his head and sighed in disappointment. "Chloé. How long have you and I been friends?"

"Since we were adorable little tots, Adrikins," Chloe said with a pout.

"Well, I'm sorry Chloé, but I can't be friends with someone who treats other people like this. You've gotta be nice to people."

"N-Nice?" Chloe stuttered.

"Yes, nice. It's not that hard."

Adrien left. Chloe sat on the bench, staring at the miserable faces of the students, and thought about what he said.

After school, Chloe returned to her room in the family hotel, she was still thinking about what Adrien said. Her butler, Jean came into the room, hands behind his back. "Mademoiselle does not look very happy, today." He held out the tray of chocolates he hid behind his back and Chloe took one. Then she grabbed the whole tray and stuffed her mouth before sobbing.

"Adrien says I have to be nice to everyone or he won't be my friend anymore! How can he do this to me, Jean-Michel?"

"Uh, my name is... hmm, never mind. Ah, perhaps Mademoiselle can see comfort with Mr. Cuddly?" He held out a yellow teddy bear and Chloe grabbed it from him and held it close. "If you would allow it, Mademoiselle, I could help you keep your friendship with Adrien."

Chloe looked up at him. "W-Why would you do a thing like that, Jean-Jacques?"

"Because that's what being nice is all about, Mademoiselle." Chloe gasped at his words. "'m sure Mademoiselle can remember when she was a little girl when Mr. Cuddly was always nice to Mademoiselle when she was sad. Mr. Cuddly can teach you how to be kind to others!"

Chloe looked down at the bear. Before she met Adrien, Mr. Cuddly was pretty much the only friend she had. And he was always there for her. "I remember, Jean-Luc. Adrien's going to see just how nice I can be."

Jean sighed in relief.

Meanwhile, Rudi was in his room thinking of doing nasty, horrible things to Chloe when suddenly the phone rang. "Hello? ... Nino? ... Whoa, whoa, slow down. What do you mean Chloe invited everyone to party? ... How do you know about that? ... She sent one to you? How come I never got one? ... Marinette didn't get one either? Figures."

Chloe scoffed when her butler made two suggestions. "The baker girl and the Kraut mechanic boy?"

"It's what Mr. Cuddly would do... yes."

Chloe sighed then reluctantly sent the invitations.

Rudi's phone beeped. "Oh, wait. Looks like Chloe's sent my invitation. ... Wait, you're seriously going after what she'd done? ... Marinette's going too?" He groaned. "Fine. I'll go. Bye." He hung up the phone. "Who does that witch think she's trying to fool?"

The circular window to Hawk Moth's lair opened and butterflies swarmed around him. "A party being thrown by the most spiteful girl in all of Paris? Such a fertile breeding ground for negative emotions!" He grabbed one of the butterflies and turned it from white to purple. "Fly away, my little Akuma, finding a victim to evilize should be a piece of cake!" The Akuma flew out the window and toward Le Grand Paris.

The students gathered at the lobby of the hotel, where they chatted, ate some of the buffet food and generally socialized. Everyone except Chloe, who just stared down at the guests with disdain. "Mademoiselle should go downstairs and greet her guests in a welcoming manner with a hug and a kiss," suggested Jean.

Chloe practically jumped when she heard that. "Uh, you're kidding, Jean-Claude. You really expect me to let their cheeks touch mine?"

"Well, that's what Mr. Cuddly would do." The butler held up the teddy bear, much to her annoyance. "This way, you will prove to your good friend, Adrien that you really are nice."

"This whole party thing is way weird," Marinette whispered to Alya.

"Well, I've known Chloé for a long time. She can be really cool, sometimes," said Adrien.

"Really?" asked Rudi. "Do you know she has an army of flying monkeys?"

At that moment Chloe ran up to Adrien and hugged him and kissed his cheeks. "Adrikins! What do you think of me hosting this party? Really nice of me, right?"

"It's awesome, Chloé!"

Marinette rolled her eyes.

Rose, Kim and Max greeted Chloe and kissed her cheeks, saying thanks for inviting them. But when Chloe kissed Marinette's cheeks, both girls gagged. Then it was Rudi's turn. She kissed his cheeks, much to her disgust, and he said, "Alright, how much did you pay this kids to do that?"

"Nothing at all," said Chloe. "I did it out of the goodness of my heart." She left him with a huff.

One person wasn't socializing. Walter sat at a single table, watching everything and everyone. His eyes spotted a black butterfly enter the room. He watched with intrigue.

Later, Nino offered to be the DJ and start the music and dancing. Chloe sat by the sidelines, watching everyone having a good time. She turned to Jean and said, "I did it. Adrien seems happy. Are we done now?"

"If I may be so bold, in order to reaffirm Adrien of her kindness, Mademoiselle might go and check that her guests are having a good time."

"And why would I do that, Jean-Marc?"

The butler held up the teddy bear. "Because that's what Mr. Cuddly would do!"

Chloe quickly shoved the bear away so nobody would see it. Then she went up to the counter and slammed her hands on it, startling Nathaniel while he was eating a snack. "Having a good time?" she asked through gritted teeth.

Mylene danced up to the counter and panted. "Wooh! All this dancing's made me thirsty. Do you know where the ice cubes are?"

"How should I know? I'm not your servant. Go and find them yourself and if you're so hot, why don't you take off your fake sheep skin sweater? Throw it in the trash where it belongs."

Mylene gasped and her lip trembled. The Akuma began to fly toward her.

But then Chloe quickly changed her act when she saw Adrien staring at her and Jean waving the teddy bear. "I'm totally joking. I love mutton. I'll get you those ice cubes."

Mylene calmed down and the Akuma flew away.

Hawk Moth growled. "What are you doing, Miss Bourgeois? Where's that natural cruelty I'm counting on?"

Marinette watched as Chloe ran to get some ice cubes for Mylene. "This BFF act she's doing is just one big charade. She's just doing it to please Adrien."

Ayla took note of her hypocrisy. "Ahem. How funny. That reminds me of a girl who didn't want to go to a party until she heard she heard Adrien would be there."

"Please don't compare me to Chloé."

Ayla giggled at that.

Meanwhile, Chloe dumped the ice cubes in Mylene's glass until they reached the top.

At the dance floor, Kim gave Nino the OK sign. Nino switched to the slow music and everyone paired up and started dancing. Kim walked over to Chloe and asked, "Chloé, how about a dance with an awesome guy?"

Without even looking at him, she asked, "I'd love it, where is he?"

The Akuma slowly started fly toward him.

But then Chloe changed her mind again when Jean showed her the teddy bear again. "Oh, here is, right in front of me."

Smiling, Kim took her hand and led her to the dance floor. The Akuma flew away.

While dancing with Kim, Chloe waved to Adrien, who nodded and gave her a thumbs up.

Alya whispered to Marinette, "Go over and ask him, girl."

"Uh, what? Adrien? No, you're crazy."

Rudi frowned at her. Then he got an idea. "Marinette, there's a bee on your back?"

"Where?"

"Here!" And he shoved her right into Adrien. They both bumped into each other and gasped. But Adrien quickly recovered and took her hand. "Want to dance with me?"

"Uh...bubba...hubba...boo..."

Adrien took that as a yes and took her hand and took her to the dance floor.

Chloe watched them slow dancing and she gasped. "What... I am speechless!"

"Thanks. You're a pretty good dancer, yourself."

She was about to tell Kim off when she saw Jean at the ball pit, waving the teddy bear again. She kept her mouth shut.

Adrien was proud of Chloe. He said to Marinette, "See? Chloé's on her best behavior, tonight."

Alya interrupted them as she put Marinette's hands on top of Adrien's shoulders and put his hands on her waist and then continued slow dancing with Nino. Though momentarily stunned, Adrien and Marinette continued dancing.

Finally, Chloe couldn't stand it anymore. She pushed Kim out of the way and stomped toward them. "I'm not letting her dance with Adrien under my roof."

"Hey! The dance isn't over yet!" said Kim.

Jean suddenly blocked Chloe's way. "If I re-say, Mademoiselle, or to..."

"Move, Jean-Jacques!"

Jean pulled out Mr. Cuddly again and gave it a squeak. "Oh, please Chloé, dear. You've been such a good little girl. Mr. Cuddly is so very proud..."

Chloe quickly tried to hide the bear, but it was too late.

Rudi pointed at her and laughed. "You're a teenage girl and you still sleep with a teddy bear?" Everyone joined him in the taunting. Everyone except Adrien and Walter.

Red in the face, Chloe ran into the kitchen with Jean following her.

Chloe screamed and threw a bunch of utensils onto the floor. "I've had it with your stupid teddy bear, your stupid advice, and you, Jean, whatever your stupid name is!"

"But, Mademoiselle, I was only trying to help."

Chloe snatched the bear out of his hands and stomped on it. "There's no more Mademoiselle, no more help, no more anything! You are FIRED! Now get out!"

She marched out of the kitchen. Jean picked up the bear in sadness.

"Ah, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed," said Hawk Moth.

The Akuma flew to Mr. Cuddly and absorbed itself into it. Jean's face suddenly went blank and a baritone voice spoke to him, "Hello, Despair Bear. I am Hawk Moth. You've always been such a good influence on Chloé, but now, you get to be a bad influence for everyone, and a very evil one at that."

"With great pleasure, sir!"

Black smoke enveloped Jean and he shrunk down, transforming into a black teddy bear. Or rather, he became a tiny man controlling the bear. "You've been very naughty, Chloékins. And Despair Bear is not proud of you. The time has come to make you pay!"

Despair Bear snuck out of the kitchen and searched for his first victim. Then he saw her. Sabrina. He ran up to her and latched itself onto her leg.

Now under bear's control, Sabrina reached into her bag and grabbed her hair brush. "Come here, Chloé."

"Sabrina? What's gotten into you?"

"Let me brush your hair. I promise I won't hurt you."

Sabrina lunged for her but Chloe pushed her away and ran. "Help! Somebody stop her!" She hid behind Kim, who blocked Sabrina.

"If you touch one hair on Chloé's head, you'll have to answer to me."

"Oh, what a gentleman. Despair Bear praises a knight in shining armor." Despair Bear latched itself onto Kim's leg. This did not go unnoticed by Marinette, Adrien and Rudi.

"Uh, I think I had too much orange juice. I gotta go. See ya," said Marinette.

"No problem. I have something to do, anyway. See ya," said Adrien.

Rudi, having no dance partner, hid under the buffet table and pulled out the Mask from his backpack. "Well, guess it's time to lighten up Chloe's party. IT'S SHOW TIME!"

Sabrina shook her head, having snapped out of the trance. "Chloe?"

"Don't you com near me!" Chloe shouted.

"Why? What's going on?"

"Kim, do something!"

Kim did do something alright. He grabbed Chloe's hand and spun her around like a top. "Shall we dance?"

Chloe stopped spinning Kim grabbed her by the arms. "Let go of me, you big derp! You're messing up my hair!"

"I hope you're having fun, Chloékins!" Despair Bear used Kim to toss Chloe up into the air. She screamed and flailed her arms helplessly.

Suddenly, a yo-yo tied around Chloe's leg and flung her safely into the ball pit. Ladybug landed onto the ground. Chloe popped out of the ball pit and spat out one of the balls. "About time. What took you so long?"

Big Head suddenly appeared. "You do know kids get pink eye in those things, right?"

"It's Big Head!" screamed Max.

Despair Bear forced Kim to attack Chloe, but Chat Noir appeared and tripped him, sending Kim flying into the ball pit and Despair Bear into a wall. "It's a very slippery dance floor, you know," the feline said.

Big Head pulled out a pair of machine guns and fired at Despair Bear, but the toy quickly dodged the bullets before running toward the partiers in an attempt to control one of them. Big Head fired his guns again, sending the guests scattering. "Come out, you little toy!" he shouted.

"Big Head!" shouted Ladybug. "Can't you capture him in a way that doesn't involve trying to kill the guests?"

"Eh, I could, but..."

Suddenly, Chat Noir grabbed Ladybug's shoulders. "What is it?" She took one look in his eyes and realized he was under Despair Bear's control.

"Despair Bear, if you want to continue playing this game, give me Ladybug's Miraculous!" shouted Hawk Moth.

Chat Noir reached for the earrings, only to get punched in the face by a huge hairy fist. He slid across the floor and smacked his head on the wall. Ladybug looked up and gasped to see Walter looming over her. "Oh...uh...thank you, Walter."

Despair Bear climbed onto a table and jumped at the giant.

"Walter, look out!"

Walter saw the bear and grabbed Big Head before using him as a mallet to flatten Despair Bear into the ground. "That hurt my face," he groaned.

Despair Bear regained consciousness and latched himself onto Chat Noir again. Chat Noir growled, "Cataclysm!" His powers activated and he tried to use it on Ladybug.

"Get away from her!" Chloe grabbed Chat Noir's belt and tugged him back. He fell onto a couch and disintegrated it when his hand touched it.

"Thanks, Chloe," said Ladybug.

"Hey, I was really nice, just then. Did you see? No?" The partiers all groaned and face palmed. "You're all so lame."

Ladybug twirled her yo-yo into the air. "Lucky Charm!" The magic from the yo-yo then produced... "A fork?"

"You little brat!" Chat Noir lunged after Ladybug again, chasing her up to the roof.

Chloe made a scoff. "She's crazy, she's never going to make it without me." She chased after her.

Walter stared, then noticed Big Head trying to crawl away. He stepped on him, then grabbed him by the head. "Oh, no," the cartoon maniac squeaked.

Ladybug hid on one of the turrets, watching the possessed Chat Noir search for her. Her lucky vision hadn't shown any clues yet. Suddenly, Walter burst through the roof and landed in front of Chat Noir. In his hand was Big Head, stretched out and as thin as a whip. "Help me," he groaned.

Walter struck Chat Noir with Big Head, knocking the feline hero's staff out of his hands. Growling Chat Noir tried to claw and scratch him, but Walter blocked the attacks using Big Head as a shield.

At that moment, Chloe appeared and gasped. She ducked behind one of the umbrellas and peaked her head out.

Ladybug watched as Walter pinned Chat Noir to the ground. Then she had an idea. "Chloe!" She tossed the fork to her. "Throw the fork at Despair Bear!"

Chloe looked at it, then at Ladybug before she nodded. She tossed the fork at Despair Bear, impaling him to the floor. Chat Noir blinked. "What happened? Where am I?" He looked up to see Walter standing on top of him. "And why is Walter holding me down?"

Walter let him go, then saw Despair Bear trying to pull the fork out. He grabbed the bear and ripped its head off. The Akuma flew out.

"No more evildoing for you, little Akuma. Time to de-evilize!" Ladybug caught the butterfly with her yo-yo. "Gotcha!" She released it, after it turned from purple to white. "Bye bye, little butterfly. Miraculous Ladybug!" She threw the fork into the air and it exploded into a wave of red and black spots that restored everything to normal. Despair Bear turned back into Jean.

Ladybug smiled at Chloe and shook her hand. "Thanks for helping me out there. That was really nice of you."

Chloe smiled back. "I know wasn't it?"

Jean picked himself up and walked over to Chloe. "Mademoiselle, I must confess. I don't remember anything!"

"Well, basically, you turned evil and I saved you. In fact, without me, Ladybug and Chat Noir would never have succeeded. I'm even better than you superheroes. I don't even need a costume."

"Oh, that's the biggest load of bull since I left the farm!" Big Head shouted. Walter grabbed him by the head, spun him around and tossed him off the roof and across the city. A car alarm went off in the distance.

Hawk Moth growled. "Ladybug, if you haven't been helped, defeating you would have been child's play. So you better watch out. Your day of devastation is coming soon!"

Out of genuine generosity, Chloe decided to invite Marinette's father to the party and allowed him to make his macaroons and even allowed the kids to make their own macaroons. "Great job, kids. You've done some really good work," he said.

"That was a great idea of inviting Marinette's dad," Adrien complimented Chloe.

"I know. This way, no one can be mad at me for calling the fire department. I'm really nice now, did you notice, Adrikins? Even Ladybug said so! Didn't she, Jean-Pascal?" The butler nodded.

Adrien put a hand on her shoulder. "I'm proud of you, Chloé. I think you've proven that you're capable of making an effort to be nicer to everyone."

"Aww, Adrikins! So we'll always be best friends, forever? Pinky swear?"

"Pinky swear!"

After the pinky swear, she sauntered off... and resumed being a brat as she criticized everyone's macaroons. "So, those macarons are dreadfully ugly. Those are so greasy, you can see yourself in them. Urgh. Too disgusting for comment. Those look horrible.

Adrien shook his head with a chuckle. "She'll never change!" He saw Marinette and walked over to her. "May I?"

Marinette jumped and stuttered, "Yeah! Sure! I mean... Uh, what?"

"Have a macaroon!"

"Yes, of course." Marinette reached for the macaroon and tried to give it to him, but she tripped on her own feet and it flew across the room and hit him in the cheek, sticking to it. "Oh, sorry, I'm so clumsy!"

"It's okay." He plucked the macaroon off his cheek and ate it. "Wow, this is really good. Your baking is good as your dancing."

Hearing this, Marinette smiled.
