CHAPTER 20: Gushing Guppies Scubaman, It's Fluff!
A young voice rang through the room, "Mooooom!"
"Yes, honey?" Jah'ug asked her young son.
"There's a birdie outside!"
She looked out of the window into the streets of Dollar General HQ, watching as a voided goose ran down the sidewalk on the other side. "A very large birdie."
As Wr'akh giggled and laughed at the void bird as it chased around a mailman, Jah'ug turned back to her paperwork. Wr'akh may have a younger brother or sister soon, depending on if any new voidlings are found.
She loves her bloodborne children, but that doesn't mean she doesn't want more. And that is why she is filling out adoption eligibility papers. Speaking of children, shouldn't Fi'ewj be back soon?
"Mom, I'm home!" Speak of the devil and she shall appear.
Wr'akh jumped from his seat in front of the window to go hug his older sister and Jah'ug put the last signature she needed to complete the papers. She sorted them and put them in a folder before heading out to greet her daughter.
Fi'ewj broke from her younger brother's excited hug and gave one to her mom, asking, "Did I miss Obi again?"
Jah'ug chuckled and replied, "Only by an hour."
Wr'akh copied his sister as he had every day as Fi'ewj snapped her fingers and said "Drat, I missed them yodel goodbye."
The family laughed as they moved further into the house, the daily in-joke always getting at least a chuckle.
Fi'ewj sat down on the couch and tossed a vine that she found in her pocket into the trash. The Rainforest room always was messy and left things everywhere. The mess wasn't helped by coworkers always trying to slip things in her pocket, as romantic gifts. She preferred human mating rituals anyway.
Wr'akh hopped onto her lap shouting, "TV, TV!"
"Yes TV," she said as she reached for the remote. She couldn't reach it with Wr'ahk on her lap, so she made her arm slightly longer, knowing Jah'ug was in the kitchen and she wouldn't see.
She saw anyway and yelled, "No shapeshifting in the house!"
Fi'ewj groaned as Wr'akh laughed at her, yelling back sarcastically, "I know Mom."
She returned her arm to its former length anyways.
Wr'akh settled down as the television turned on and displayed his favorite cartoon, 'Underwater Hijinks'.
It technically wasn't a children's show, but it was clean enough for little ears so it was the family's go-to show.
Jah'ug joined them soon after whispering to Fi'ewj, "I finished them."
She grinned at her mom and whispered back, "Are you going to tell him?"
Wr'akh turned around and shushed them as seriously as a just out of toddler age kid could before turning back to watch as Laura helped Scubaman defeat Nessie again.
Jah'ug smiled and, as Nessie yelled in the background "I may be a typical villain, but at least I have standards,", mouthed over, "It's a surprise for his birthday."
Fi'ewj nodded, placed an arm around her brother, and leaned into her mother's side.
Family was awesome.
