The white-haired maid gazes out the train's window as trees pass rapidly...
She had gotten on this train back at Argus... along with a couple other colorful individuals.
She gazes into the train car for a moment to see a large sign to the front of the room, on it simply reads.
"Welcome Vault Hunters"
With a picture of Jacques Gele's face smirking in the corner...
It also has a little 'GDF' branding in the opposite corner.
She glances around the rest of the train car, seeing a short, flat, blonde maid with silver eyes that is totally ripping off her maid style, much to the Schnee Maid's annoyance.
She wears her hair in twin-tails and is looking up at the sign with a confident smirk.
Her feet don't even touch the floor from where she's sitting...
The maid looks over to a green haired bespectacled wearing man in a brown overcoat sitting next to an older man with greying hair and a mustache, they seem to be discussing the job, the maid can hear bits and pieces, a 'Why didn't we think to get actual funding sooner' here and a 'Barty my boy, this may be a grand chance to discover more of those vaults.' there.
The maid looks to the final two members in the mostly empty train car, a man with greyish black hair, red eyes, and a little stubble on his chin, a single-edged great sword on his back, then a woman sitting alone in the corner, she has chin length black hair, blue eyes and a knife with a thick handle at her waist, a singular red dust crystal imbedded within the center of it.
Sakuya lets out a long sigh.
None of these people look that impressive...
Especially that child... her smug aura really irks the time stopping maid.
Plus, she has no idea where she's going to 'get help' as her lady put it... do all of these people have issues with Gele too? Is this the 'help' she has been offered?
A little disappointing... she isn't going to lie.
She frowns as the red eyed great sword wielder locks eyes with her and winks, then look out the window.
'Tch. A flirt.' She mentally scoffs. 'I'm married to my job and my job alone.'
She gives her train of thought a brief pause as she notices a quiet whirring sound.

She notices the other people in the train car looking around, so she assumes they have noticed it as well.
The sign at the front of the train falls down.
"TO YOUR DOOM! (Nothing Personal)"
At that moment, several boxes in the front of the train begin unfolding, gaining arms, legs, even a head.
*CHZN*
The arms flip out to reveal a gun on one hand and a long saber-like blade on the other.
The two robots point their gun arms forwards as their eyes glow red, giving the green haired gentleman and the slightly... round... man just barely enough time to leap back behind their seat before they start unloading.
*RATATATATA*
Sakuya ducks behind the seat in front of her as bullets whiz by overhead, along with a couple dull thumps as they impact the cushion in front of her, momentum slowed after punching through several rows before her.
She glances up to see a hatch on the ceiling as the child maid dives out a now broken window with a grin.
Sakuya suddenly leaps upwards, using the seat in front of her as a springboard, grasping one of the bars that make up a ladder leading up the side of the wall and along the ceiling.
With a feat of surprising upper body strength that doesn't seem possible with her lean arms, and with one hand nonetheless, she twists her body and slams her feet into the hatch, smashing it open and launching her up onto the roof of the train.
The two older gentlemen rush down the aisle in between the seats as bullets fly past them, only for the black haired man to stand up from his spot where he sat unmoving even as bullets flew past his head, and point his great sword at the robots, the single edged blade folding downwards ever so slightly to reveal two barrels.
*BANG*
A singular slug smashes into the left robot's shoulder and causes its entire body to twist, gun still shooting, causing it to destroy its ally, a second slug explodes its head in a shower of sparks.
They both fall to the ground unmoving as the black-haired man smirks, flicking the blade back up to hide the barrels.
Qrow Branwen: Bad Luck Charm
The two moving huntsmen freeze as the door at the back of the room opens to reveal more robots, guns trained on the two partners in hunting.
The mustached one lifts his blunderbuss and shoots at the door, sending small fire pellets scattering over the foremost robot, making it stumble backwards with damaged metal plating, it and the bot behind it however are quickly reduced to scorched metal as they are both hit by a cone of fire, melting most of the important bits within.
When the smoke clears, the green haired man takes a sip from the nozzle of his flamethrower without a care in the world as the grey-haired man balances his blunderbuss on his shoulders.
Peter Port & Bartholomew Oobleck: The First Vault Hunters
Deeper within the train car the two men were rushing for, the small girl from before crashes through the wall with a large explosion, on her back are four large black feathered wings and floating just out of her reach are two large spears made of pink light.
She crosses her arms, sending both spears flying through the chests of two nearby bots, then she steps forwards, punching another robot in the lower stomach, folding the metal inwards like it was a soda can, sending the dented robot crashing into the wall with a crack as its metal deforms more, then she turns, and with a small flap of her wings, four darts appear around her before rocketing towards some of the remaining robots, severing arms, cleaving directly through eyes, piercing cleanly through the front armor of more robots.
She grins and grabs the chest of another robot, her fingers creating dents in the metal from where she grabbed it, then she just simply tosses it out the hole she came in, sending it tumbling into the snow and crashing into passing trees.
Mittelt: The Angel.
Two robots come from the front of the train car the six were originally sat in, the black haired woman lunges forwards, stabbing her knife into the side of the first robot as the second tries to slash her.
A gout of fire flashes out from the gaps in the robot's armor, as she removes her knife and ducks another slash from the second robot, stabbing it right in the armpit.
With a flash of fire, its head pops off.
The knife suddenly enlarges, the handle extending into a long shaft as she tears the bladed head out of the robot's side, she points the now spear forwards and shoots a fireball from red crystal imbedded in the tip, launching another bot backwards with a crunch as it collides with another, dismantling them both.
She lets out a huff of annoyance as she props the spear on her shoulders and walks forwards.
Azure Bubbles: Simon Says.
Up on the roof, Sakuya is probably having the worst time out of all the 'Vault hunters'
She leaps back, avoiding a bullet that smashes into the ground, she lunges forwards, towards one of her opponents.
Her knife clashes against a longsword, the blades clattering slightly as they try to overpower each other.
Sakuya ends the deadlock by deflecting the attacks to the side before suddenly leaping back as another gunshot rings out, another bullet barely going past her face.
Her eyes narrow.
"I don't have time for this."
She disappears and reappears past the second huntsmen, a large gash appearing in the side of the first as he flops off the train, and the second's throat being slit as Sakuya clutches a knife with a black crystalline blade.
She frowns as the edge slightly chips.
"Eight more seconds..." She mutters. "That leaves about three hundred..."
She hops back down into the train as she spies a tunnel coming up, landing just in front of the black-haired girl from before.
They lock eyes for a moment before nodding.
The black-haired man from before walks up with a smirk, the blonde midget following behind as the two older men gape in astonishment at... her wings that quickly fold into her back.
The group of six come to a quick understanding and make their way through the rest of the train, heading for the front.
They kick open the door leading to the locomotive itself and pause.
Wooden boxes, stacked haphazardly around the room, vials with floating crystals of assorted color set around the walls, each with wires attached to the ends, in the center of the room is a singular screen...
They all widen their eyes, dust bombs... and crates absolutely full of dust.
The screen flashes to life, showing a man with a confident grin, he has black hair, starting to grey, and a smooth and slightly pale face that has a barely visible line on his cheeks, chin and upper forehead. "Oh? You're still alive? Ah well... I suppose that's to be expected."
He lets out a laugh at their faces. "What? Did you actually expect me to let you barbarians join my beautiful company? Heh! What could you six do that my of thousands upon thousands of employees couldn't?! The only reason I put out those ads were to kill anyone else searching for the vaults! Such a shame that the train was attacked by grimm... but, it's not something that hasn't happened before~ the world will move on."
"Welcome to Anima, kiddos~!"
The dust in the test tubes begin to glow brightly- only to dull as the world turns grey.
Sakuya lets out a sigh as she quickly walks over to the midget maid and picks her up, stepping over to the door where she flings the little girl off the train where she pauses upon moving a fair distance away from the maid.
She does this action four more times, for each of the remaining train riders, then leaps off the train herself.
Sakuya Izayoi: The Perfect Maid
The world regains its color as Sakuya lands with a small crouch, the other five crashing into the snow-covered dirt.
Sakuya pulls out her stop watch and lets out a sigh. "Sixty seconds gone... that is a little more difficult to regain."
*BOOOM*
The train explodes about two hundred feet down the track.
"What the hell?!" Qrow asks as he sits up from the snow.
The blonde maid sits up with a frown and brushes off her clothes with a light glare.
She rolls her shoulders and stands up, a smile on her face after she gets her clothes clean. "Alright... that was something..."
She yawns before glancing over the other four who are still pulling themselves from the thin snowfall.
"Y-You're one of those things on the mural!" Oobleck exclaims as he sits up, pointing towards the blonde girl.
"It's called an Angel, don't call me a 'thing' again." The girl scoffs. "Anyways, looks like good ol Handsome Jacq tried to murder us, so I'd say we should get our priorities straight."
The girl snaps her fingers. "Alright, show of hands, who here was going to attempt to murder Jacques Gele before he tried to kill us all?"
Sakuya blinks in surprise as not only her hand goes up, but the black-haired man, the black-haired blue-eyed girl, and even the midget maid's.
"And those reasons aaaare?" The blonde asks, pointing towards the man.
"That bastard sent an assassin towards my Niece by association."
Her finger moves towards the black haired girl.
"He attempted to kill my old teammate."
To Sakuya herself, causing said white haired maid to blink.
"He attempted to murder Lady Schnee and kidnap her daughter."
The midget points to herself. "I was sent by the Hunter's Guild because they attempted to murder the co-creator's wife and kidnap his daughter."
"…" the green haired gentleman and the mustached man sit in silence. "W-Wait, is that why Nicholas suddenly had to return home?! The three of us were going to do this together, but he got a sudden call from home and had to return."
"So, it appears a majority of us were sent here for the same reason..." The blonde nods before gesturing towards the two men who haven't really said anything yet. "What are your reasons for being here?"
"We desired funding for our vault hunting expeditions." The mustached vault hunter explains. "But this..."
He frowns with narrowed eyes. "Nicholas was our friend... to think... this Gele rapscallion made an attempt on his daughter's life... and an attempt to kidnap his granddaughter... that makes me mad."
"Hm?" The blonde hums with a raised eyebrow.
She leans forwards slightly. "OH! You two are the 'first vault hunters'… honestly, I have to thank you two because your discovery mostly revived my creator."
"The Mural vault was mainly meant to be a faith battery anyways, so I suppose it served its purpose as well." The blonde shrugs before crossing her arms. "Anyways, I'm Mittelt, who are all of you?"
"Qrow."
"Azure."
"Sakuya."
"Bartholomew Oobleck, but you can call me Bart."
"I am Peter Port, huntsman, slayer of beasts, vault hunter extraordina-"
"Yeah, okay... so we should stick together, right?" Mittelt asks as she looks between the rest of her group.
They all seem to be in agreement.
Gele must pay.
"May I have a couple words about history-"
"Nah... you won't be getting much from me." The girl shrugs. "I may have four wings, but actually I wasn't created all that long ago... like... five years maybe? You'll want someone like Azazel... he's been around a while."
"Azazel?" Oobleck mutters under his breath.
"Oh yeah, he's a womanizing fuck. But he's a bit like a cool uncle... so we sort of just ignore the flirtatious part about him."
The girl yawns. "We can do a QnA after all of this is over... we still need to find and kill Jacques after all."
"Kill... him?"
"Yep." The girl nods. "You see, the GDF have actually found a vault on their own, just never went public with it... not much inside it other than a storage of Life Dust so I've been told, but... it did tell of another vault that held something... dangerous."
"All the more reason to kill him." Sakuya mutters.
"Indeed." Mittelt nods.
"What... exactly is in this Vault, then?" Oobleck mutters.
"Well, the vaults all have assorted jobs, one functions as a 'command center', one as a prison, one that details history, a storage room, and even... an armory."
"He is looking for... the armory?"
"Correct." The girl nods. "Luckily, he doesn't have all the keys to open it... yet..."
She holds up a T shaped piece of metal with a white crystal barely poking out the top, around that is gold metal that wraps around the arms and bottom of it. "And he won't..."
She gestures over her shoulder to the exploded train as she slips the t shaped piece of metal back into her pocket. "Walk and talk? We should probably start scavenging if we want to survive out here."
They all begin to make their way towards the train.
"That... was a key?!" Oobleck asks as he pulls a notepad from his pocket.
"One of the many keys." The girl nods. "There is one other gold key, four silver, and eight copper... it seems like Asgorath really liked for everything to have an additional purpose, even Angels gain more abilities the more wings they have... in addition to just being a Key, each 'Key' is a weapon in and of itself."
"A weapon?"
"Yep. Even a copper key is pretty powerful... easily capable of destroying the taint left behind by the dark god... hell, a golden key might even surpass the destructive capabilities of my light powers."
"They... are light attributed?"
"Mhm." The girl nods as Oobleck's question. "I don't know much about how they work, but apparently, they use life dust to transform aura into light energy, light energy, like life energy, is toxic for grimm, as they are creatures of death and darkness, so it's quite easy to kill them with it. Each type of key drains a specific amount of aura, the more energy they drain, the larger and more powerful the light is."
"I think you are skipping over a small thing in your little talk about the keys..." Qrow deadpans.
"Hn?" Mittelt asks.
"Where the hell are we supposed to be going, what the hell are we supposed to be doing, and how do we do it." He elaborates.
*Snrk-* the blonde snorts. "that's easy... you'd know if you actually fucking thought for a second, Qrow."
She looks back to the group just as they reach the crashed train cars. "We are going to the GDF compound... to kill Jacques Gele... preferably after we've gotten enough evidence of his crimes."
Heeeey looks like Azure is back! A lot of you have been wondering where she was, and what evil schemes she was planning... even though she isn't evil...
And good ol Barty and Portly make an appearance as well!
Also Qrow.
When does Qrow get his fucking harem, huh?! Qrow deserves better! How dare that god chad fuck every girl on his team!

Eh, I mean, victory domain would probably just give you more power when you do get a victory... maybe cause you to lose power if you fail? That 'I have Victory Domain so I Win' shit is probably outer-god level stuff though...
Ah yes... when Cinder and Neo finally try to get a boyfriend she's going to have to deal with an overprotective dad and two overprotective uncles... Joy.
Guest 001:
I never said he COULDN'T just make his relic after his divine powers come back... he was deciding if he should make it now, or wait 3 months... because, really, if you're going to make a relic, you are going to MAKE A RELIC, put your all into it, not just half ass it with your lesser abilities.
Guest 002:
Yep, he'd just smite literally anything other than the twin gods, so you can't really have him do any fights... fuck around? Sure. Toss more random races into Remnant just to see what happens? Absolutely.
Anywaaays, I got this chapter out a lot quicker than the previous one... not having writer's block and a general idea of where to go with the story really helps! I didn't just want to skip ahead like 10 years to the first plan I had, so I decided to go with this!
This should do a good... eh... 25k words at least, maybe 50k at max?
