Hello, thank you again for all the lovely reviews and I'm glad you all like the fanfic. I just wanted to let you know that Brax will be mentioning Charlie in this chapter, and I decided that Brax had been dating Charlie for five years before she died and for this, she's been dead for four years. So, to help I'd thought I'd also give you the Braxton brother's ages.
Brax – 28 (meaning him and Charlie were 19 when they met, and they were 24 when she died)
Heath – 24
Casey – 16 (but he'll turn 17 in the next chapter)
Kyle – 16 (I was originally going to have them split in age by a week but changed my mind to three days apart instead)
Also, I'm not a doctor, so in terms of length of hospital stays I have no idea so I apologise if I let some of them out of hospital too quick but the show did and they would have done extensive research haha. Anyway, here's the next chapter.
(10:37am) 47 minutes later…
Summer Bay - Yabbie Creek - Northern Districts Hospital – Heath's Room
Heath was sitting on his hospital bed just thinking when there was a knock on the door, and it opened to reveal his older brother.
"Hey." Brax said as he closed the door behind him "How you feeling?"
Heath just nods as he picks up the empty cup that was beside him and starts to play with it.
"That good eh?"
Heath still doesn't say anything in response which worries Brax slightly.
"Look, Heath I know it doesn't sound like it mate but it is going to get better you know. You've just got to try to get through every day the best way you can." Brax tells him hoping it would help "And, I want you to know that we are all here for you if you need us. Just because we all haven't been here to see you as much doesn't mean we don't care."
Still Heath is quiet which for him was definitely unusual.
"Listen Heath, I know what you're going through mate. When I lost Charlie, it was like she…"
"Excuse me?" Heath cuts his brother off.
"Look, I'm not trying to take anything away from what you're going through, believe me. I'm just trying to say that a lot of the things that your feeling right now, I've actually felt and I am feeling again what with Kyle also missing. So, if you want to talk about them…"
"You don't know what I'm feeling." Heath states.
"Heath."
"No, Brax you don't. Ok, you had five years with Charlie and I didn't even get 5 days with my wife. So, I could do with a little less of the pep talking okay?"
"Ok." Brax replies just as there's a knock at the door and Johnny opens it "Hey Johnny. How are you mate?"
Heath sees his best mate and just looks away.
"They're sending me home today, but I wanted to let you know if there was anything you need just call because I know how you must be feeling right now as I'm worried about Rocco too." Johnny says to his friend.
"Good on yeh, thanks." Brax replies shaking Johnny's hand that's not attached to the arm that's in a sling.
"I mean it." Johnny reiterates "I know as your best mate/best man, Bianca would want me to make sure that you're ok."
"What did you just say?" Heath asks after listening to what Johnny just said.
"I mean it'll make her hap…"
"Don't ever speak for my wife!"
"I just want to help."
"You come in here, playing the good friend like nothing happened!" Heath angrily says to him "Well, guess what Johnny, this is all your fault. You're the reason they're all missing or dead. You're the reason that my wife and little brother are not here. If it weren't for you, Tyson would never have turned up at the wedding which in turn wouldn't have blown up leading the way for the chopper to go missing!"
Johnny starts to say: "I'm really sorry Hea…"
"You've got no right!"
"Heath." Brax says calmly.
"Bianca and Kyle are gone. It should have been him." Heath explains then points at Johnny "IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU!"
Johnny doesn't say anything in reply to that, instead he just turns around and leaves the room.
"Heath." Brax says.
"GET OUT BRAX! JUST GET OUT!" Heath yells at his brother.
Brax backs out the room holding his hands up as a sign of surrender to Heath's demand.
Once the door was closed, Heath starts to breakdown, he throws the cup at the wall then starts to cry as he thinks about Bianca and Kyle.
(11:41am) 1 hours and 4 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Surf Club – Main Area – Juice Bar
Brax was currently stood beside the Juice Bar on the phone while Alf was going around cleaning some tables.
"Hello." Brax says into the phone as he watches what Alf was doing "Yeah, speaking. What? When?"
The two questions, causes Alf to turn around and look at the oldest Braxton as he spoke on the phone.
(12:02pm) 21 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Braxton House – The Flat
After his phone call, Brax had rushed back home.
Opening the door to the flat he ran in, but it was empty, so he headed for the main house.
(12:04pm) 2 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Braxton House – Living Room
"Heath!" Brax shouted as he opened the door and wandered in.
It turns out the phone call had been from the hospital, between Brax leaving and Nurse Julie Cooper going in to check on Heath, he had somehow managed to leave the hospital without being noticed and now no one knew where he was.
"Heath!" Brax shouted again as he started searching the house looking for him.
Walking back into the living room: "Where are you mate?!"
Realising Heath was clearly not at the house, Brax pulled his phone out of his pocket to ring Alf.
Summer Bay – Surf Club – Main Area – Juice Bar
The phone for the juice bar was ringing when Alf re-entered. He rushed over and picked it up.
"Alf Stewart." He said down the phone.
Summer Bay – Braxton House – Living Room
"Yeah, it's me." Brax replied "He's not here. How'd you go?"
Summer Bay – Surf Club – Main Area – Juice Bar
"No luck and I just went up to the point and there's no sign of him up there either."
Summer Bay – Braxton House – Living Room
Pulling a face as he listened to the man, Brax replies: "I can't believe this. Right I'll tell yeh Alf, we've got to do this fast ok because the anti-rejection meds he's on, have got to be taken at exactly the right time, okay?"
Summer Bay – Surf Club – Main Area – Juice Bar
"I'll call more people in if we have to." Alf says to him "In the meantime, I'm going down to the beach to start there."
Summer Bay – Braxton House – Living Room
"Yeah, yeah ok. Thanks mate." Brax says before hanging up and starts to head back out the house to continuing looking for Heath.
