(12 Months Later) The wedding day
Standing on the end of the Navy docks Mike smiled widely when he spotted Sophie and Cleo walking towards him dressed in beautiful blue dresses with a now 1-year-old Sebastian walking between them holding their hands dressed in a suit and a blue vest
"Dada" Sebastian giggled as they got stopped in front of him
"Hey Skipper" Mike reached down lifting the little boy into his arms
"Well you finally made it big bro" Cleo smiled reaching up and placing a kiss on his cheek before moving to the side
"Mum looks like a princess" Sophie giggled standing next to Cleo
looking across at his daughter Mike winked at her before turning to look at the end of the docks to see Kate making her way towards him in a beautiful white gown that hugged her figure with tinges of blue to represent the sea,
stopping in front of him Kate smiled as he looked at her speechless "You'll catch flies there Sailor" she grinned
"I can't help it, you… you look absolutely breathtaking" he smiled
"You scrub up pretty good yourself" she reached a hand across brushing the imaginary dust off his shoulder Mike having worn a suit like Sebastian's with a blue vest
"Mm mum" Sebastian reached out for Kate
"Spunky man" Kate smiled widely taking him in her arms
"You ready for this?" Mike reached a hand out
"Absolutely" she interlocked a free hand with his while supporting Sebastian with her other one
"Are we ready?" the forgotten Charge stood in front of them ready to officiate the ceremony
"I've been waiting for this for ten years, so absolutely" Mike smiled at Charge while Kate passed Sebastian to Cleo.
Turning to face Mike, Kate smiled before he grabbed her hands in his
"Hi" he grinned
"Hi" she replied with a wide smile
"Family and Hammersley family we're here today to celebrate the love that Mike and Kate share in watching them commit themselves to each other, as I understand Mike and Kate have written their own vows so Mike would you like to go first?" Charge motioned to him
"Kate…" Mike began saying with a small smile
"My life changed the moment we met when we were teenagers, a chance meeting which by faults could be yours" he winked when he hand playfully hit his chest
"Okay, okay it was mine but my point is if I had to accidently kick sand on you I'd do it all over again; so many times we'd lost contact and lost each other but we found our way back to each other,
You gave me our beautiful daughter and our handsome son you treat my sister like your own and you have no idea how much you've changed my life for the better I love you so much and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you creating and sharing memories" he squeezed her hands
"Kate your turn" Charge smiled
"Mike, you were my first love when I was just fifteen and it would seem that your supposed to be my last you came into my life at a time I needed you the most you showed what it was to feel loved" she teared up
"I'll never forget everything that you've done for me, you've given me our gorgeous daughter and son as for Cleo" she turned slightly to face her
"Getting to call her my sister in law is the most amazing experience and I love her deeply, as for you my heart will forever and always be yours I love you and I can't wait to create new memories with you and our family" she smiled at him a tear rolling down her cheek he reached across and brushed it off with his thumb.
"Mike repeat after me; I take you, Kate, to be my wife from this day forward, to join with you and share all that is to come" Charge said as Cleo moved forward taking the rings from out of Sebastian's jacket
"I take you, Kate, to be my wife from this day forward, to join with you and share all that is to come" he smiled pushing the ring on her finger
"Now Kate repeat after me; I take you, Mike, to be my husband from this day forward, to join with you and share all that is to come"
"I take you, Mike, to be my husband from this day forward, to join with you and share all that is to come" Kate repeated smiling widely at Mike pushing the ring on his finger
"Mike do you take Kate to be your lawfully wedded Wife through sickness and in health till death do you part?" Charge finally asked as they got towards the end
"I do" Mike teared up looking at Kate
"And Kate do you take Mike to be your lawfully wedded Husband through sickness and in health till death do you part"
"I do" she smirked at Mike
"Well then with the power invested in me I now pronounce you Husband and Wife, you may.." he began saying as Mike wrapped a hand behind Kate's head he pulled her close and kissed her passionately the crew laughed in the background
"They never wait for the end seriously" Charge rolled his eyes as Mike moved back from the kiss
"I just couldn't wait to kiss my wife" Mike laughed turning to face the crew who were cheering them on.
"We did it" Kate grinned hugging Mike from the side while Sophie and Cleo moved towards the crew
"That we did Mrs Flynn" he looked down at her
"Congratulations you two" Maxine moved forward holding out two glasses of champagne
"Oh thank you Ma'am" Kate kept her arm tightly around Mike's back in comfort while they took the glasses
"Maxine" Mike nodded before she walked off
"That was…"
"Confusing" Kate sighed turning to face him
"Well Mrs Flynn, a toast" he smiled holding up his glass
"To us" she followed suite
"To us" he nodded before taking a sip noticing she wasn't drinking
"Um…" she placed her glass down on the nearest table
"You're not drinking?" he asked confused
"Well I…" she began saying when an arm began dragging her away
"Kate?" Mike yelled after her watching his sister drag her away.
"Cleo? What are you doing?" Kate sighed pulling her arm out of her grip
"Dragging you away so you don't spoil the surprise"
"I wasn't…"
"Really?" she raised her eyebrow at her
"Okay I was but only because he noticed I wasn't drinking" Kate shrugged
"Seb is a bit fussy why don't you go and feed him" she nodded
"Yes Ma'am" Kate laughed walking over to Seb and picking him up.
"Did she tell him?" Sophie stopped next to Cleo with a plate of food
"No I got there just in time but I don't know how it's going to stay a secret for much longer if she is constantly passed champagne and she won't drink it"
"Maybe Daddy will be excited he'll stop people from passing her that yucky drink" Sophie grinned
"But it's supposed to be a surprise" Cleo shrugged
"Daddy hates surprises" Sophie shook her head before walking off
"But this is one he'll be sure to love" Cleo said to herself crossing her fingers.
Hours later after the celebrations Kate and Mike felt for their honeymoon arriving at their hotel Mike stopped her from opening the door
"What?" she asked confused
"It's tradition" he grinned wrapping an arm around her and picking her up bridal style into his arms walking her through the doorway he smiled at the beautifully decorated room
"I had Cleo's help" she grinned moving out of his arms
"My sister helped you with all this?" he asked moving towards the bed that had a matching Mr and Mrs bath robe set
"Yeah well when she knew we couldn't go away because of work she booked the honeymoon suite here in Cairns" Kate placed her bag at the end of the bed
"Leave that I'll do it later" he motioned to her bag when she began unzipping it
"I just need to get your present" she grinned pulling out a colourful box
"You got me a present?" he asked confused when she sat on the end of the bed
"Well yes and no it's kind of for both of us" she held out the box when he sat next to her
"Right…" he said confused pulling off the lid
"I was waiting until the right time to tell you…" she paused watching him pull back the tissue paper to reveal a small pair of knitted socks
"Kate?" he asked confused
"So um… There's been something I've kept from you for a few weeks now" she passed him a second smaller present wrapped in more tissue paper
"Kate are we?"
"Open it" she answered trying to hide her smile watching him unwrap the tissue paper she found herself getting emotional as his eyes widened when he looked down at the Pregnancy stick
"Kate…" he picked it up before turning to look at her
"Surprise" she shrugged holding back the tears
"We're Pregnant?" he asked dropping the box on the floor
"Two months" she smiled
"We're going to have another baby?" he sprung forward wrapping his arms around her in a hug
"Your happy?" she mumbled against his neck surprised when he moved back
"Am I happy? Kate you've made me the happiest man on this earth" he met her lips in a soft kiss that soon became more passionate
"Mmm" she moaned when his hands run across her back
"Hmm" he grinned moving them up the bed the test being lost somewhere along the way of the frantically pulling at each other's clothes.
Five Years Later:
"Quick! We're going to be late" Kate sighed as she rushed to get the kids out of the car
"But I don't want to go" Sebastian groaned
"Come on Skipper your Auntie's expecting us" she ruffled his hair
"Mum! Seb stole my lollypop" Stewart cried
"We don't have time for this, Mike a little help please?" Kate sighed looked across at her husband who was standing aside with a now 15-year-old Sophie
"Right!" he moved forward picking a grumpy Stewart up in his arms
"Come on you lot best behaviour please" he sighed while Seb held Kate's hand
"Now we've got to be very quiet okay" Kate nodded when they all walked across the grass to find their seat Cleo waving from them at her spot near the stage.
Five years had passed since Kate and Mike got married during this time they,
brought a house together that was big enough to extend their family,
gave birth to a little boy 7 months after their honeymoon who they called Stewart Gordon Flynn,
Sophie had grown into a beautiful young girl and was the best big sister to her little brothers,
Cleo was now 19 and been accepted into the Navy following in her brother's footsteps,
Sebastian and Stewart were the best of friends and would do everything together although when it came to food and sharing that would always end in arguments,
Sophie was still into her reading and even won an award for most books read in a month,
As for Kate and Mike well they were never going stronger and were even expecting another child in less than 2 months this time another little girl after they found out they made the decision that was it they were happy with their family of 6.
A lesson to learn in life is that no matter what you go through or what happens, family is the most important thing in the world.
