Chapter 22

Oatclaw smiled. "Of course! I'm so happy!"

He hesitated. "What made you change your mind?"

Dandelionstream rubbed against him and purred. "You reminded me of how much I missed you and your company."

They entwined tails as they walked through the corridor. All of a sudden, a scream ripped through the air.

"That's Silver!" Dandelionstream cried, whirling around to the healer's cave.

She ran and found Silver and Falcon grappling with each other. Without hesitating, Dandelionstream jumped into battle, clawing at Falcon's face. She bit his neck and dodged his blows. Soon he collapsed on the floor, the light dying from his eyes.

Dandelionstream rushed over to Silver. But even before she checked her wounds, Dandelionstream saw the peace in Silver's eyes that came from knowing your time was up.

"Don't go!" Dandelionstream cried in a choked voice. "Please!"

Silver smiled. "Oh, my dear, don't worry. I have lived a good life."

"No! She cried. "You had so many seasons to go! I'll get help, just stay with me!"

Silver shook her head sadly. "I'll...be fine."

Silver gave a rasping cough, then she closed her eyes, and stopped breathing. Dandelionstream wailed to the sky, enveloped in grief. Cats were coming in the cave.

"Falcon killed her," Dandelionstream said hoarsely. "There was nothing I could do."

Spikenose and Flintlash murmured comforting things.

Oatclaw came up to her. "You mustn't get upset." He said softly. "Think of the kits."

Spikenose and Flintlash both snapped there heads up.

"What kits?" They asked at the same time.

"I'm expecting," Dandelionstream said.

That was the last thing on her mind. I could've saved her. If only I had run faster. If only…

…

Dandelionstream woke up. It was time to leave. Dandelionstream said goodbye to each cat individually. She said goodbye to Apple, Bramble, Bracken, Moon, Fern, Rose, Tawney, Red, Eagle, Claw, Gray, and Flick.

She then went to the Healers cave and said goodbye to Crow, Pear, Amber, Silver, Ice, Flower, Rock, and Cow.

She then went to the patient's cave and said goodbye to Ruthless, Hummingbird, Rat, Dark, Narrow, Plate, Mr. Fluff, and Kelly.

Dandelionstream saved Mud, Minty, and Angel for last.

After that was done, she said goodbye again to Hummingbird.

"Thank you for making me see my love for Oatclaw." She said sincerely.

Hummingbird smiled. "My pleasure."

Dandelionstream also said goodbye to Fern, who had changed. She was now nice. Dandeliostream waited for Peachpaw to say her goodbyes to Angel, and they were off, straight ahead.

I know that chapter went a little too fast, and it was a short chapter, so sorry. Also, I was able to get this out really quickly. (One day) so it may not be that good. But probably is
