Epilogue- We are going to Paris.
Things had been going better for them the last few months, Diane and Gibbs divorce was final, and he was back in his house. However, things were better than ever between Gibbs and Jenny, they spent most of their free time together and Gibbs had taken Rory to work on the boat a few nights, even had her overnight one night so Jenny could go out for drinks with Decker and Burley.
Jenny was standing in the bathroom when she opened her eyes to see Gibbs standing behind her. "This is the ladies room Jethro," she teased.
"Where've you been?" he asked.
"Well Jethro we are standing in the ladies' room, I've been here," she rolled her eyes at him. "What do you want Jethro that meant you had to barge your way in here.
"Director wants to see us," he informed her slowly, and she stood up like a shot. She nodded her head and they exited the bathroom, he followed her up the stairs and unsuccessfully trying not to check her ass out. She gave him a sharp look at the top of the stairs, she always knew when he was checking her out, and he just gave her a knowing smirk.
They walked into Morrows outer office, Sarah wasn't there, and the door was left open, so Gibbs just walked in.
"Gibbs, Shepard," Morrow said "Take a seat, he indicated to the conference table. Jenny pulled a sear back from the side of the table and sat down, observing the thin file that was placed in front of her.
Gibbs flipped his eyes from Jenny to Morrow to the files and waited for morrow to start. "Your performance has been exemplary, Agent Shepard" He said, and Jenny nodded, "You too work well together." He stated and she again nodded, Gibbs made a gruff affirmative. He indicated to the file in front of them. "We have a covert ops mission in Europe, and I think you will both be excellent for it."
"She's got Rory sir," Gibbs said, and Jenny snapped a glare at him.
"Ah if you would let me finish Jethro, Most of what you will be doing there will be unofficial, and you may be required to break international law," a small smile appeared on Gibbs lips, he was good at breaking rules. "However, the cover is to send you both in as a married couple, and if you wish, Rory could play the part of your child."
"I wouldn't wish to put my child in harm's way Director," she said warily, she wanted Europe, she wanted black ops, but things had changed, and she wasn't sure if she could go through with it anymore.
"There would be no way that Rory would be in danger, you would just be seeing the sights, acting like a normal family who moved to the city, there would be some trips away, however I am sending Dr Mallard with you, he has contacts in the area, and he could also play the role of babysitter, if you both oblige." Jenny and Gibbs looked at each other, he looked pissed, she looked guilty.
"Can we discuss this and get back to you?" He asked gruffly.
"Of course, just let me know by 0900 tomorrow." Morrow excused them, Gibbs stormed away to the elevator, Jenny trailing behind. When the elevator began to move he flipped the switch.
"You wanted black ops Jen?" he asked, already knowing the answer, she looked at her feet she couldn't look at him. "What about Rory?" he growled, and her head shot up.
"Not that it is any of your business, but I had it sorted, I had options," she spat, "I like the idea of being able to take her with us, for the three of us to go together." She added and Gibbs nodded.
"I want assurances from Morrow she won't be in danger," Gibbs said after a few moments of silence, Jenny nodded. "Suppose we should go and talk to Ror huh," he said with a smirk and Jenny kissed him, because he was making sacrifices for her, because even though they hadn't said it, he loved her.
It was after dinner that they sat Rory down at the table, saying they had something to talk to her about, and Rory was excited. "Are you getting married? Are you gonna come live with us forever? Are you having a baby!" Rory shrieked getting up and jumping up and down "Is it a girl?" she added.
"Aurora Joy I am not having a baby, sit down," Jenny ordered, Gibbs laughed, and she shot him a glare. "What we have to talk to you about baby is, well-" Jenny wasn't exactly sure how to phrase it.
"Your mom and I, we have to go to Europe for work," Rory looked sad, she wanted to go to Europe.
"Yes, and we will be going for a good few months, and we will be brining you with us." Rory's eyed lit up, she was going on holiday! "Rory, this is a special kind of work job, mommy needs to pretend she is married to Jethro," Rory nodded, that was fine, "and Ducky will come too, he will pretend to be your grandpa," Rory shrugged, she liked playing pretend. "Rory you are going to have to call Jethro dad while you're out in public." Rory looked at her mother for a moment, she was getting a dad!
"Just outside? So not inside?" she asked curiously.
"Just outside for the job, but uh inside if you want too, up to you kid." Gibbs said scratching his head.
"But if I called you dad does that mean you would actually be my dad?" Jenny looked at Gibbs, they hadn't really talked about that, but his eyes said it all and Jenny nodded at him.
"If you want me to be then that would be cool with me," and Rory came running over to him and she cried, because she had a daddy now, it was all she ever wanted. Jenny bit her lip and held back the tears, she had it all.
They spent the next hour going over everything with her, explaining how they would be based in Paris but mommy and Jeth- sorry Mommy and Daddy would sometimes have to go away for a few days but Ducky would look after her, and she would go to a local international school.
They reported to Morrow the next day and they were given their aliases, she was Jennifer Smith, Gibbs was Jethro Smith and Rory was Rory Smit. Morrow had tried to keep it simple for Rory, they spent the next few days packing, and Rory said by to her friends, she would miss them, but her mother assured her she would see them again.
