28. Chapter 19-The Games Begin!

Hey guys! I'm doing Thalia's POV now. Comments! Oh by the way, if you're confused, time works differently in each universe. It's kinda slower here in Panem, sorry about that. Anyways, Have fun reading!

-Thalia's POV-

After we discussed our plans, we snuck into the Capitol building. The building reminded me of the Erechtheion back in Athens, and the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Frank told me he went there for vacation one time. When we crept past the guards, Nico told us to split up. He, Frank, and… Jason would head over to the main hall. I, Piper, and Clarisse would try and find Katniss. Calypso and Coach Hedge would search the east hall. We all agreed and went our ways.

We saw a guard coming, and we quickly hid. When he brisked past, we snuck over to the back yard, where the chariot was parked. Clarisse intercepted the vehicle while I opened a door. Katniss was sitting there, running her fingers along the velvet cushions. She looked up and gasped. "Oh my god, what are you guys doing here?" We explained to her about our plan. She looked quite skeptical, but she agreed. Then Clarisse came forward. "Uhh, here. Take my spear, it shrinks into a medallion," she muttered. We all stared. Clarisse usually never gave anyone a gift, much less her electric spear. "Well come on, girl! Take it before I change my mind," Clarisse said gruffly. Katniss managed a smile and grabbed the spear, which promptly morphed into a gold, silver, and bronze medallion, with a wild boar and a spear engraved in the center.

We all waited for the Games to begin. After sneaking in, staging raids, grilling the Gamemakers for information, and helping Katniss train, the Hunger Games began. We were all planning to interfere, and we waited until the horn blew. 10… 9… 8… I thought of me and Jason, hanging out with Piper. 7… 6… I was firing arrows with Phoebe. 5… 4… 3… 2… 1. "Go! Let the Games begin!"

We watched intently as Katniss grabbed a bow, a quiver, several arrows, a loaf of bread, an empty water skin, and a bunch of rope. She ran off with Peeta, who only took a backpack and a knife, into the trees. That was our cue. We rushed over the stone wall, attacking any approaching guards. I drew my bow, and shot an explosive arrow into the center. Two poor kids were badly injured, but I had to do it. One bulky kid drew a sword he picked up and ran toward us, yelling triumphantly. He slashed at Frank, who easily deflected it and kicked the kid in the chest. "Let's move!" yelled Nico. The Capitol seemed to know there was a breach (us) in their Games, and soon a small meteor shower was raining down. We ran toward the green.
