Jane takes a minute to gather her thoughts before speaking. "Before all this happen." She said clearing her throat to address everyone in the room. "Before this happened Korsak brought up me taking the lieutenant's exam." "I don't know if that's still on the table but I think if I return to work I'm going to do it." Jane says looking to Maura for approval. "Jane that's great." Maura says. "I'm going to ask to be put on the street less." She says smiling at her son and wife. "Jane." Maura says sweetly. "You dont have to decide this now." "I know" says Jane. "But I have and this is what I want to do." "I was considering it before this but I've missed a whole year with my family." "I dont want that to happen again." "I will still do what a love, but without being on the streets as much." "I have you and our family to think about." Jane says squeezing Maura's hand. "Like I said I don't know if that offer is still available but if it is I'm going to take it."
Just as she says that Korsak walks and and blurts out. "I over heard and yes it's still on the table." Jane smiles at the familiar voice. "I'm going to be retiring soon and I couldn't think of anyone else better suited to take my position." Korsak says with a wide smile. "Glad to see you back Janie." He says handing her flowers and giving her a quick hug. "So when are you getting released or are we going to have to break you outta here?" Korsak says chuckling. "I'll be here for a few more days and then I will be able to go home." Jane replied.
"That's great news Jane." Korsak says looking at his phone. "I'm sorry but duty calls so I better get going." Korsak says giving Jane's foot a tap. "We have a case involving a "Fat bomb" as Frankie calls it." He says laughing. Jane looks to Maura confused. "It seems someone used fat from a liposuction patient to make a bomb." Maura answers. "Man I miss all the good stuff!" Jane says laughing which in return made the whole room laugh. "Jane!" Maura says trying to hold back her own laughter. "What am I going to do with you?" She says smiling at her wife. "Love me, hug me, squeeze me tight?" Jane says with her typical Rizzoli grin.
The next few days came and went. It was time for Jane to go home the doctor didnt want her going back to work right away so he told her to take a week and then return to the hospital and she would get checked out and as long as Jane doesn't reinjure or aggravate her shoulder and she was cleared in good health she could return to work.
Jane knew better then to argue with her doctor Maura wouldn't let her. Maura enters Jane's room after speaking with the doctor and receiving Jane's discharge papers. She noticed Jane having trouble lifting her arms above her head to put her shirt on. Although everything healed well the scar tissue was still sensitive. "Here baby let me help you." Maura says quickly dropping the papers in the chair.
She stood infront of her wife who hand nothing on but tight fitting blue jeans and a black silk bra. She grinned mischievously placing soft kisses to the brunettes collar bone and long neck. "Mmm, babe." Jane whispered. "I missed doing that." Maura said with a sly smile. "God, I've missed your kisses and touch too love but could you please help me with my shirt I'm kinda cold." Jane said smiling at her wife.
"Well if you would of let me finish you wouldn't be cold." The blonde joked and winked up at her wife. "Later babe, I promise." Jane whispered in her wife's ear that sent a shiver down Mauras back. "Ok." Maura replied with a pout." Jane smiled at the blondes antics. "Okay here" Maura said placing Jane's t shirt over her head and then allowed Jane to do the rest. "Thank you Maur." Jane said sitting down to put her socks and shoes on. "Alright sweetie are you ready?" Maura ask while zipping up the duffel bag. "Do you even have to ask?" The brunette spouts with a smile.
