Matthias Laune, 18.
District 2 Male.

"Matthias, wake up. It's time for breakfast." Omega's voice rang out, as he knocked on the door.

"Yeah, I'm coming!" He dragged himself out of bed, kicking the giant crystal costume out of the way, opening the door to see his mentor. Omega looked tired as if he hadn't slept the night before, his long blonde hair a mess.

"Breakfast time." Omega said, gesturing toward the dining room. Matthias nodded and stepped out of his room to follow him. They arrived and Matthias took a seat next to Sammus who seemed to be trying to drink himself into oblivion using coffee. He grunted at Matthias as he sat down, and went back to looking half asleep and drinking his coffee.

"So, let's talk gameplan for training." Scipia said, taking a bite of toast. Omega looked up from his cup of tea.

"Well, you should probably attempt to make alliances with the One and Four pairs." Omega looked over at Sammus for help, but he was still half asleep.

"What else? What kind of stations should we go to?" Matthias piped up from his end of the table. Omega rubbed his eyes and took a sip of his tea before answering.

"Sammus, you wanna take this one?" Sammus looked up and pushed his purple hair out of his eyes.

"What? Oh, you probably want to brush up on your weapons of choice, but also make sure to do some survival stations just in case." Sammus said, his tone quite grumpy. Matthias figured he probably wasn't a morning person.

"What else should we do?" Scipia asked, eager as ever.

"Try not to make people angry, they will target you in the area if you do." Omega replied. Sammus nodded in agreement. They continued eating, and as they finished Sammus and Omega stood.

"Once you've finished go change into your training outfits and meet us back here. You have half an hour." Sammus said, on his fourth cup of coffee and finally looking awake in some sense. Matthias stood, and he made his way back to his room. Layed out on the now made bed was a pretty standard looking training outfit, shirt pants and a thin jacket, all in the District Two colour of orange. He pulled the outfit on and moved around to see how it felt. Capitol clothing seemed to be quite the wonder, as it moved with him perfectly, not hindering him in any way. He glanced at the clock, he had taken about twenty minutes to put the outfit on and test it. He opened the door to his room and walked back out to the main dining room area. Omega and Sammus had changed into more casual clothing and were standing talking in hushed tones about something. As he approached they stopped talking, and Sammus moved to grab yet another cup of coffee.

"Once Scipia graces us with her presence, we'll head down to the training room." Omega gestured to the elevator as he said this. Sammus arrived back with who knows what number cup of coffee at this point. Scipia walked up to the group, wearing an identical outfit to his.

"Alright, we ready to go?" Sammus asked. Omega, Scipia and Matthias all nodded and the group headed to the elevator. Sammus jabbed the call button with his thumb and the elevator appeared nearly instantly, the doors sliding open not long after he hit the button. They all stepped into the small space, and Sammus hit the very bottom button, the doors sliding closed and the elevator taking off soundlessly. They quickly went underground, reaching their destination floor soon after. The elevator dinged and the doors slid open. Omega gestured for them to get out which they did. Sammus poked his head out the door.

"Good luck, don't mess shit up." He said. He pulled his head back into the elevator, and the doors closed. Scipia and Matthias turned to the trainer standing nearby.

"I see you two are first. Come join me over here while we wait for the others."

Beck Vars-Dyer, 17.
District 5 Male.

Beck rolled up the sleeves of his yellow shirt, as he tied the two pieces of string together. That brought the structure together, and it looked like something he could live in at this point. The station trainer clapped in excitement, coming over to inspect the structure.

"That looks amazing Beck, you've picked this up quickly!" He said, circling the small tent-shaped structure. The walls were built of stacked up rocks and what roof it had was covered in branches.

"Thank you." Beck replied. He had spent much of the morning here, but he didn't mind since this could be a useful thing to know. After this, he was planning on going to the water purification station. He straightened up, turning to survey what the other tributes were doing. At the javelin-throwing station was the girl from Two, who's name he believed to be Scipia. She hit three bullseyes in a row, turning to grin viciously at her district partner. The boy from Three was at the knot tying station, and he was setting up some sort of trap that the instructor was watching interestedly. The pair from Nine walked over to the station and went to talk to the instructor. Beck set to tearing the structure down. He got about halfway through before he felt somebody tap him on the shoulder. He jumped and turned to whoever had done it.

"Hi, do you want to ally with us? You seem pretty good at this." It was the boy from Twelve, his name was Fervin, Beck thought.

"Who's in this alliance?" Beck asked. He wasn't actually considering allying with him, but he still wanted to know. Fervin pointed at another boy, who was currently waiting for the axe throwing station.

"That's Sylvan, they're my ally." Fervin said with a slight grin. Beck didn't trust him at all.

"No, I think I'm okay. Thanks for the offer though." Fervin furrowed his brow at this looking slightly miffed, but he moved onto the next station. Beck turned back to dismantling his shelter. He finished pulling down the last of the structure, and he moved over to another station, this one the water purification station. He walked up to the instructor standing near the station.

"What sort of water purification would you like to know about?" The instructor asked excited somebody had come to his station.

"The easiest kind I guess?" Beck replied. The instructor nodded and gestured for Beck to follow him to a nearby table. They worked together there for awhile, the instructor showing him how to do something and him repeating it until he could get it right on his own. They had gotten through a few ways to purify water before they were called to lunch by the head trainer. Beck made his way into the dining room area and grabbed a tray of food from the front of the room scanning the room to decide where to sit. He made his way towards the back of the room, sitting by himself. Other tributes filled in the other tables, some sitting alone and some in groups. He would rather be alone then have an ally turn on him and kill him. He was in this game to win.

Malec Bridon, 17.
District 3 Male.

Malec slid into the chair, placing his lunch tray in front of him. Like many others, he was sitting alone. That was until a boy with ginger hair slid into a chair across the table from him. It was one of the boys from Five.

"Hi, I'm Armitage. Mind if I sit here?"

"No, go ahead. I'm Malec." He replied. Armitage thought for a second before responding.

"I saw you working at the traps station, you're pretty good at it."

"Oh, thanks." Malec suspected Armitage was about to ask him to ally, which is exactly what happened next.

"Would you consider allying with me?" Armitage said, shoving a piece of bread into his mouth. Malec had seen Armitage practicing at the crossbow and archery station. He seemed skilled enough at it. He glanced over at the nearby career pack. Anyone who could wield a weapon decently would be a good ally against them. Malec nodded yes and Armitage grinned widely.

"So, what stations do you wanna go to after this?" Armitage asked, shifting to stick his feet up on another nearby chair. Malec shrugged.

"I'm already pretty good at survival stuff, my boyfriend is a big fan of camping and he likes to drag me along." Malec said, picking at his vegetables. Armitage laughed, and some of the other tributes gave him weird looks.

"Oops, I'm being too loud aren't I." Armitage said, covering his mouth with a hand as he continued laughing, but quieter.

"Nah I don't think so." Malec said with a shrug.

"How about we go and try the sword fighting station then?" Armitage said, his laughter coming to a stop. Malec nodded, and the two lapsed into silence as they finished their food. They both finished around the same time, and they took their trays back up to the front dropping them off and turning and leaving the room to return to training. This time they made their way to the sword-fighting station. Armitage gestured for him to go first, and he stepped up to the platform. The instructor picked gestured to a nearby rack of swords.

"Pick your weapon, and we'll start." Malec turned to the rack, and grabbed a sort of curved, medium-length sword.

"A khopesh, a good choice! Small and light, with an easy learning curve." Malec nodded and stepped back onto the platform, and the instructor lifted his sword.

"Okay, I'll teach you some basic blocks first."

Malec had been at the sword fighting station much of the afternoon. He'd learned how to fight with the sword with a mediocre at the best level of competency. Armitage had eventually moved onto the poisonous plants' station, alongside the boy from One. Malec hadn't been able to beat the trainer yet, but he was still quite pleased with his progress. He had no doubt in his mind he stood no chance against someone trained, but he figured he was competent enough to put up a fight. Malec returned the sword to the rack, done with fighting for the day.

Tovah Pines, 16
District 7 Female

Tovah poked at the small fire she had managed to start, blowing on it gently and adding a little more grass. The little fire bloomed a little brighter as Tovah continued to add more grass. Fire was an interesting thing, fickle to start but once it got going it could be a source of life, or a cause of death. Tovah had always been intrigued by fire. She continued fiddling with it until she heard a loud commotion. She turned to look at what was going on. One of the girls, she thought it was the one from One named Jade, had jumped on the girl from Eleven, who's name she thought was Briony

"Your brother killed my brother! I'll kill you!" The career girl shouted. Everyone had turned to look at this, as several Peacekeepers came out of nowhere to grab the pair. Before they could do so, Briony kicked Jade off and jumped to her feet. The Peacekeepers grabbed Jade, and began dragging her off. As she was dragged off, she spit in the general direction of Briony, and they took her out of the room, still screaming. The entire room was dead silent in shock, as another Peacekeeper came in to take Briony off. The lead trainer hurried out of nowhere, her voice echoing across the room.

"Sorry about that everyone, please continue what you were doing before. You have two hours of training left today." Conversations resumed and people went back to what they were doing. Tovah looked around the room, at all the scattered people. In a corner, the careers were talking about something, and Sarmiento, the boy from One was making a concerned face at the pair from Two. The smaller boy from Four, Cress was bouncing around the group, ready to go and do something. Tovah turned back to her little fire, continuing to stoke it.

Tovah continued working at the fire making station until the lead trainer announced their time was up for the day. Tovah made her way back to one of the elevators, meeting up with her District partner Sylvan along the way. Tovah didn't mind Sylvan, they seemed nice enough but she knew they were freaked out by her, most people tended to be. They stepped into the elevator in silence, and before the doors could close, the now lone Sarmiento hopped in, leaning over to push the floor one button. He leaned against the railing of the elevator, a cold look on his face. He looked almost angry at the stunt that his District partner pulled.

"What the hell was that?" Sylvan asked, waving his hands towards the training room that quickly went out of sight, the doors gliding closed. Sarmiento looked over at Sylvan, the look dropping off his face.

"What, with Jade?" Sarmiento replied, pinching the bridge of his nose between his fingers. Sylvan nodded, and Sarmiento continued.

"I have no clue what that was to be honest with you. I knew she had lost a brother in the Games but I didn't know that the other girls' brother killed him." Sylvan nodded and they lapsed back into silence, quickly arriving at the first floor where Sarmiento got off, waving his hand goodbye as he did. Sylvan waved back, as the doors closed again and the elevator took off to the seventh floor. They both stood in silence, waiting for the elevator to reach their floor, which it did with a joyous little ding. The pair stepped out of the elevator and were greeted by their mentors, Charles and Hallium. The two were instantly bombarded by questions by their mentors.

Tovah lit one of the small candles and placed in on the dresser top. She preferred the candlelight to the electric lights. Tovah climbed into bed, and grabbed a book she had gotten from the small library nook in the apartment. She opened the book and began reading, soon drifting off to sleep, the candles going out on their own through the night.
