I Didn't Have A Choice-Ch 25
The next day everybody worked together to get things ready for the impromptu wedding of Derek and Penelope, the men all worked on getting the backyard decorated while JJ, Emily, Jessica, Emma and Penelope worked on getting things for the bride and bridesmaids.
Fran, Millie and Tabby worked on the wedding cake and the food for the reception, Derek stood smiling as they looked around at the backyard, it looked amazing. In the center of it was an arch that Derek, Penelope and the minister would stand in for the ceremony and it was covered with dark red roses.
Sarah and Desi had been keeping an eye on Jack and Henry and helping them make a banner for the wedding, the boys had told them that they wanted to do something special for their aunt and uncle. They were already being the ring bearers but they had their hearts set on fixing a banner to put on the fence in the backyard.
Currently the men were staying Millies while the women and kids all stayed at Penelopes, Penelope had agreed with her future mother-in-law about keeping everything traditional, that included sleeping in separate locations the night before the wedding. After working hard that day everybody was exhausted and more than ready to turn in for the night.
The next morning the men headed to the diner for breakfast, Fran and Millie had made fresh muffins and donuts for the women and kids to enjoy before the hustle and bustle started. As they sat at the table they were all laughing and talking about how nervous everybody was at their weddings.
Penelope threw her head back and said, "I remember that, he forgot his shoes", JJ giggled and said, "he still talks about that", Emily said, "what about Aaron forgetting his vows". Sarah said, "didn't he just have to repeat after the minister"?, Emily said, "ohhhh no, we wrote our own vows".
Desi said, "and he forgot them"?, Emily said, "yeppppppp", Penelope put her hand on Emilys and said, "but he finally remembered them", Emily said, "yeah after like 15 minutes". Fran said, "bless his heart, that wedding was a little before my time with the family", Penelope said, "it was hilarious", Emily sighed and said, "then it wasn't, but now, now it is" and everybody laughed as they finished their breakfast.
Penelope took a bite of her chocolate muffin and said, "what time are the men coming over"?, Fran said, "about 11 but don't worry we will be upstairs getting you dressed". Penelope said, "I can't believe that this is happening, that we are getting married, like really getting married this time".
JJ said, "you and Morgan will get married this time, we're not leaving your side until you do", Penelope blew out a deep breath and said, "thank you, thank you all for everything you've done to help me". Emma said, "I know that some of us haven't known you long but we love you Penelope and we wish only the best for you and we would do anything to help you".
Penelope hugged her and said, "I love you guys too, you have been so amazing to me and I don't know what I would have done without you when I got here". Jessica said, "you were a breath of fresh air in this town", Penelope said, "really"?, Emma, Jessica, Tabby and Milly all nodded their heads and said, "yes" in unison.
Jessica looked at Penelope and said, "Henry is so excited about getting to be part of the ceremony", Penelope said, "awwww I'm glad Jess. we wanted to include all three kids in the ceremony". JJ said, "so the Henry's and Jack are the ring bearers"?, Penelope said, "yep, we know that it's a little odd having 3 ring bearers but we had our hearts set on having everybody involved".
Fran looked down at her watch and said, "it's time to start getting ready", Jessica and Emma said, "we'll get the three boys dressed before we get dressed and then we'll do a last check on everything". Sarah said, "me and Desi will help you with that" and the girls all grinned as they grabbed the boys and headed upstairs.
Emily said, "alright then PG, let's get you upstairs and get you ready to marry your prince", Penelope stood up and blew out a deep breath, she then slid her hand down over her baby bump and said, "alright, let's get this party started". Fran, Millie and Tabby started clearing off the table so they too could start getting ready for the wedding.
