Its been about two months now since Nani and Sunburst have arrived at horseland. Sunburst decided to adopt me as his daughter too since all of my other parents adopted me. during this week it has been very hot and dry here at horseland.

I have been sweating and thirsty all the time. I have even got a sunburn at one point. it hasn't rained in weeks and there is a water shortage. somedays I would just lay down in my bed and not do anything because it was so hot outside. my family and my friends are worried about me.

the heat has been taking over me, making me depressed because I haven't been motivated to do anything because it's so hot outside. I was laying down in my bed not doing anything when my dad Ahadi, Nala, and Sarah came in my room.

"Lana?" Nala said with concern. "yeah Nala?" I said. "do you wanna go on a trail ride with us and Sarah?" Nala asked me. I sat up from my bed.

"no thanks guys, I'm not feeling too well right now" I said. "we're worried about you Lana you haven't been out of your room in two months" Ahadi said.

"you have to get up and do something" Sarah said. I said nothing and laid in my bed. "are you sick?" Ahadi said. Sarah walked over to me,

and felt my forehead. "it doesn't look like you have a fever" Sarah said. "come on Lana please do something with us" Nala said.

I still said nothing and kept laying in my bed. "I have an idea. if you go on a trail ride with us, we will take you to see a movie after.

I know you love going to movies" Sarah said. "and you can pick any movie you want" Nala said. "any movie I want?" I said. "yep,

any movie you want and we will take you to it. but you have to go on the trail ride first" Ahadi said. I thought for a minute. then I spoke up.

"yeah sure I guess I will go with you guys" I said. "that's great, let's get out saddles on our horses" Sarah said. "okay" I said.

"we will be waiting outside the barn for you" Ahadi said. I nodded, then Ahadi and Nala left my room. "come on lets go" Sarah said.

"okay" I said. Sarah and I then went to go saddle our horses. after we saddled our horse we met Ahadi and Nala,

who was waiting outside the barn for us. "are you guys ready to go?" Nala said. "yeah were ready" I said as we got on our horses.

"Great let's go" Nala said. we then took off starting our trail ride. a while into our trail ride, I felt myself getting hot. "are you doing okay Lana?" Ahadi said with concern. "yeah dad I am doing okay" I said. "here is some water" Sarah said,

as she handed me a water bottle. "thanks" I said as I took it from her. after our trail ride I saw my Aunt Zoey and Aunt Chloe, and Nani in the arena. "Aunt Zoey!" I called. "hey Lana" Aunt Zoey said. I haven't been able to hang out with Aunt Zoey much.

that is because she joins this after school eco-club that talks about the environment. I walked into the arena with Skyler. "hey Aunt Zoey, how are you doing?" I said. "Im good" Aunt Zoey said. then I noticed her looking at Aunt Chloe and Chili.

"whats wrong with Aunt Chloe and Chili?" I asked her. "it looks like Chloe has been using a lot of water to bath Chili" Aunt Zoey said.

I looked at Chili's coat. I was shocked when I saw his coat all shiny. "come on lets go talk to her" Aunt Zoey said. "okay" I said.

we then galloped up to Aunt Chloe and Chili. "Chloe" Aunt Zoey said. "daddy?" I said. "yeah Lana?" Chili said. "how come your coat,

is so shiny?" I asked him. "lets just say your Aunt Chloe has been spoiling me with tones of baths. I'm taking baths every hour" Chili said,

happily. "every hour?! doesn't she know there is a water shortage?" I said. "yeah, but who cares. I am the cleanest horse in horseland" Chili said.

"you know you're supposed to be saving water right?" I said to Aunt Chloe. "say's who?" Aunt Chloe said. "umm says the law"

I said. I sighed. "come on Skyler lets go get cooled off" I said. "okay sounds good to me" Skyler said. then Skyler and I went to the stable.

after I unsaddled Skyler I heard Aunt Chloe say, "what a pretty shiny horse you are" Aunt Chloe said. I saw her baithing Chili,

again! I saw Aunt Zoey walk up to me with Pepper. "what's wrong Lana?" Aunt Zoey said. "umm Aunt Zoey,

you might want to see this" I said. "see what?" Aunt Zoey said. I showed her that Aunt Chloe was waisting water bathing Chili. Aunt Zoey tied Pepper's reins to the door handle. "be right back Pep" Aunt Zoey said. Aunt Zoey and I then,

walked up to Aunt Chloe. "fallow me" Aunt Zoey said. I nodded. we went to the water faucet and turned off the water. I giggled a bit to see Aunt Chloe's reaction. "Im washing a horse here, what's the big idea?!" Aunt Chloe whined. "your waisting water.

we have a water shortage remember?" Aunt Zoey Chloe ignored us and kept bathing Chili. "come on Aunt Chloe, you need to stop wasting water. beside's your gonna dull daddy's coat washing him so often" I said.

"don't listen to her, she is just jealous" Aunt Chloe said to Chili. I sighed. I gave up and decided to go to my room for a bit. after a while,

when I went back outside I saw Aunt Chloe waisting the water again but this time in the arena! I was pissed off at her now.

I walked up to the water hose and turned off the water. "will you cut it out?!" Aunt Chloe yelled. "stop waisting the water and I,

will stop turning off the water" I said with an evil smirk. "ugh, will you just stay out of my business?!" Aunt Chloe yelled.

with that she slammed the hose on the ground and stormed off. I laughed to myself then looked at the mess she made with the hose.

she could have at least cleaned up after herself. when I finished putting the hose away I saw my brother Mufasa,

who walked up to me. "hey Mufasa" I said. "hey Lana, what are you doing with the watering hose?" Mufasa asked me.

"what do you mean?" I asked. "I saw you putting the watering hose away. you weren't wasting water were you?" Mufasa said.

"no, I swear I wasn't" I said. "I see the arena wet, are you sure?" Mufasa said. "yeah I am sure" I said. "okay then,

I will leave you alone now" Mufasa said. "okay" I said. when Mufasa left I saw Nani who was talking to Aunt Zoey. I walked up to them. "hey guy's what's up?" I said. for some reason Nani did not look too happy with me. "whats wrong Nani?" I said.

"so it's true then?" Nani said. "whats true?" I said totally confused. "waisting water. I saw both of you. bathing horses, washing stalls, washing the arena" Nani said. I was shocked. "what are you talking about?" Aunt Zoey asked her.

"you guys know there is a water shortage, what is wrong with the both of you?!" Nani said with anger in her voice.

I just stood there completely shocked and speechless.
