Hey guys! The song used in this chapter is 'Demons' by Imagine Dragons. This song had been highly requested so thanks to Carrot Lord, joshannis12345, and I think someone else might have suggested it but I can't find the review so if that's you then thank you. Also thank you for every other song suggestion, I've been making a playlist out of every song that I've used or that one of you have suggested, because I seriously needed some new music to listen to, and now I have it! Here's chapter 25!

Percy's POV

I was still hugging Annabeth when I heard someone start to unlock the door. We quickly scooted away from each other just as Jason and Grover walked in, stopping when they saw Annabeth.

"Hey Annabeth." Jason greeted her, "Whatcha doing here?"

"Percy asked me to come over because he wanted to invite me to Thanksgiving!" She lied, smiling like that was all we talked about. She shot me a look that said 'Play along!' and so I did.

"Yep! I got the idea yesterday, but I wanted to check with my mum before I told Annabeth." I plastered a fake smile across my face, trying to shake away the memories of Gabe.

"Uh huh." Grover looked sceptical, "Then why's your guitar out?" Shit. I glanced down at the instrument I had left on the floor, trying to come up with an excuse.

Luckily, Annabeth was faster at thinking on her feet than I was. "He was playing a song when I got here."

"Right...sure."

"Well, I should be going." Annabeth stood up, "I'll see you guys later." She waved as she headed towards the door that Grover and Jason had left open, closing it behind her.

"I'm getting a soda." Grover announced, walking to the kitchen to help himself.

"Percy you know that subconscious thing you do when you're thinking about you-know-who?" Jason asked, sitting on the sofa in front of me.

"Yeah..."

"You're doing it." I looked down at my arm. Crap, he's right - I'm touching my scar. Stupid hand. "Did you tell her about-"

"What? No! Of course not. The song I was singing when she got here was one I wrote back then, so he was just on my mind, that's all."

"Sure it is." Jason raised an eyebrow, clearly not believing me, but he let it slide, not wanting to press me.

"So what were you guys doing?" I asked, desperate to change the subject.

"Oh nothing, I was just on my way here when I bumped into Jason." Grover explained, coming out of the kitchen with a can of Coca-Cola in his hand.

"Why were you coming here?"

"To talk to you." He said, sipping his drink and sitting down next to Jason. "Last night we didn't get a chance for you to tell me about what's going on with you and Annabeth."

"Oh."

"Sooo, are you gonna tell me or what?"

"Do I have to?"

"Yes."

Not wanting to relay everything to Grover, I turned to Jason. "Jason can tell you, he knows pretty much everything."

"Woah woah woah! Pretty much everything? Do I not know everything?" Jason inturrupted, sitting up.

"Ugh, no of course you do." I hastily replied, "It was just a figure of speech. Anyway, you can tell Grover what's going on, he needs updated on everything since the Party."

"Since the party? That was two weeks ago!"

"Every time Percy sees me he makes sure we don't talk about Annabeth."

"Makes sense." Jason nodded, before launching into the story. "So, the morning after the party they..." I tuned Jason out, and walked to my room to grab my songbook. I had too many thoughts swirling around in my head about Annabeth, and I needed to write them down. I have a few random lines written down that I came up with years ago and haven't managed to put into a song, but I think I finally know how to use them.

I brought my book back out into the living room and sat down at the table, still ignoring Jason's (very detailed) description of everything that has happened between Annabeth and I recently. I started to write, letting all of my thoughts pour out of me and onto the page.

"Perce! I'm done telling Grover everything." Jason said, turning to face me. "Oooh you've got your songbook out? Let us hear whatever you're working on!"

"Fine." I agreed, I was finished the song anyway and wanted to put some chords to it.

"Here's your guitar." Grover said, picking the instrument up off of the floor and handing it to me as I sat back down on the coffee table across from them

I strummed a few random chords, trying to find the right melody, and once I found it, I started singing.

When the days are cold
And the cards all fold
And the saints we see
Are all made of gold
When your dreams all fail
And the ones we hail
Are the worst of all
And the blood's run stale
I want to hide the truth
I want to shelter you
But with the beast inside
There's nowhere we can hide
No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
Don't get too close
It's dark inside
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
When the curtain's call
Is the last of all
When the lights fade out
All the sinners crawl
So they dug your grave
And the masquerade
Will come calling out
At the mess you made
Don't want to let you down
But I am hell bound
Though this is all for you
Don't want to hide the truth
No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
Don't get too close
It's dark inside
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
They say it's what you make
I say it's up to fate
It's woven in my soul
I need to let you go
Your eyes, they shine so bright
I want to save their light
I can't escape this now
Unless you show me how
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
Don't get too close
It's dark inside
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide

"Well that was dark." Jason slumped, "I was expecting another happy-go-lucky love song for Annabeth."

"Another?" Grover asked, "How many has he written?"

"Five that I know of."

"Five?!" Grover exclaimed, "He's known her for three weeks! He was in love with Rachel for three years and wrote about ten songs total! Jesus christ Percy, you are head over heels for this girl."

"Hey I was not in love with Rachel." I protested, indignant.

"Yeah you were Percy."

I thought back to high school, "Okay maybe I was in love with her a little bit." I admitted, cringing at the memory.

"Who cares about Rachel?" Jason interjected, "When are you going to ask Annabeth out?"

"I'm not."

"What?!" Jason and Grover both yelled in unison. "You have to!" Grover said, exasperated.

"I can't."

"Why not?"

"You heard the song - I'm not good enough for her." It's decided, I'm never telling her how I feel. Annabeth deserves someone much better than me. She deserves someone who can give her the whole world.

"Oh my God Percy!" Grover yelled, but his expression softened when he saw the look on my face. "Look, I get it, you've gone through a lot. And I can't even begin to understand how you must feel, but that's exactly why you should ask her out. You deserve to be happy Percy! And telling her how you feel will make you happy."

"But what if she doesn't like me back?"

"Oh for FUCKS sake Perseus!" Jason shouted, loud enough for the neighbours to hear. "How many times have we been over this?! She! Likes! You! Too!" He said, slapping my arm with every word.

"Ow!"

"You deserve it! Ask her out!"

"Fine!" I agreed, "I'll tell her I like her!"

"Good!" Jason yelled, but then a thought seemed to occur to him. "But uh...you should wait until next week."

"What? Why?" Why does he want me to wait after weeks of trying to get me to ask her out?

"Well what if she says no? You don't want to ruin Thanksgiving week."

"You just said she was definitely going to say yes!"

"Just ignore him Percy." Grover interrupted, "Ask her out as soon as possible."

"No don't do that! She's coming to your mum's for Thanksgiving right? You don't want to take her to meet your mother for your first date!"

"That's actually a good point." Hm. Those are rare from Jason.

"Yeah but you should ask her out the second after Thanksgiving is over!" Grover tried to convince me. Why are they both acting so weird?

"No-"

"Alright!" I shouted over them, "I'll ask her out sometime after Thanksgiving alright?"

"But-"

"Enough! I'll ask her out when I ask her out, it's up to me. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to my room to get away from you two." I said, picking up my guitar and my book, and walking to my room.

Annabeth's POV

A couple of hours after I left Percy's, I was lying on my bed staring up at the ceiling. I can't believe he went through all that. He always seems so happy and upbeat - I can't imagine a time were he was so depressed he almost killed himself. Maybe that's what he had been thinking about the first time we had a baking lesson, the thing that he didn't want to be thinking about. I just...can't believe it.

I rolled over onto my front and grabbed my phone - I want to talk to him.

Annabeth

Are you alright?

I chewed on my nails, anxiously waiting for a reply, and the little bubbles popped up around 30 seconds after I sent the text.

Seaweed Brain

Yeah I'm good

Annabeth

I'm glad

I was trying to come up with something else to say, when the bubbles popped up again.

Seaweed Brain

Thanks for listening earlier

It felt good to talk about it

Annabeth

No problem :-)

Thanks for trusting me enough to tell me

Am I really going to say that? Eh screw it, I thought as I hit send

Seaweed Brain

Of course

I was about to type a reply, but the bubbles appeared before I could. And then they disappeared, and then they appeared again.

I'm happy I met you

Annabeth

I'm happy I met you too

I'm glad we're friends

Shit. Did I just friendzone the guy I like? Well, if it wasn't confirmed before, I am one hundred percent sure that I am a complete idiot.

Seaweed Brain

Yeah, me too

"Hey Annabeth." Piper said, walking into my room. She seemed a little down - not her usual, bubbly self.

"Hey Piper." Figuring this would be a long conversation, I quickly texted Percy a goodbye message.

Annabeth

I've got to go

Talk later?

Seaweed Brain

Ttyl

I set my phone down and looked up at Piper as she sat down on the end of my bed. "What's up?" I asked, sitting up and crossing my legs.

"I was just wondering what Percy wanted to talk to you about earlier."

"Right." I suppose we haven't had this conversation yet. "He was inviting me to Thanksgiving at his place."

"Cool!" She brightened up, "We can go together then! And you can wear your new dress!" Oh yeah, I had forgotten about that dress. I looked over to my open closet, and looked at the navy dress, still to have its tags taken off of it.

"I guess I can." I laughed, but the slightly down expression returned to Piper's face. "What's wrong?"

"Oh it's nothing." She sighed as she flopped backwards onto her back. "It's just...my mum."

"Ah." I understood, if anyone can sympathise with parental issues, it's me. Piper's mother was a famous model, she travelled all over the world - Milan, Paris, Tokyo, the only problem was, she never seemed to have time for Piper. "What did she do this time?"

"Well, she said she was going to be in New York over Thanksgiving weekend. Not on Thanksgiving, but I was fine with that, because I'm going to Percy's, and I'm going to be with Jason all day, but I was looking forward to getting to see her."

"And let me guess, she just called to cancel?"

"I hung up the second before I came in here."

"Oh Piper." I felt bad for her, I really did. Her mum always does this, and it's not fair on Piper.

"It's just, she does this every time we make plans. And every time I get disappointed when she cancels. I should be used to it by now! But no. I get my hopes up every single fucking time. It's...it's shit!" She exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air.

"I know it is Pipes. But you don't need her - you have me, and Hazel, and Jason, and Will, and Reyna, you have a whole family in New York. And they all live within a ten minute drive from here. And any one of them would come over right away if you needed them."

She smiled and sat up, "Thanks Annabeth."

"No problem." I said as I hugged her, hoping that she was feeling better. "And you have your dad too, why aren't you going to his for Thanksgiving?"

"He's abroad filming a movie. But it's alright, I know he'd be here if he could. Plus, he'll FaceTime me Thanksgiving morning, and so will Coach Hedge - he'll probably want to double check that I'm alright, he's basically my uncle."

"Yeah, an uncle who makes you do push ups." I laughed, and so did Piper, I'm happy that I was able to cheer her up.

Okay, so that chapter was a little bit short, but it was a kind of a filler chapter because I didn't want to skip straight to Thanksgiving. Also, I'm happy that I got to get into Piper's story. I don't want the characters who aren't Percy and Annabeth to be just supporting roles - I want them all to have their own story, their own lives. Anyways, (I feel like I say that every chapter) Thanksgiving will be in the next chapter, well, part of Thanksgiving anyway, and it might not even be Thanksgiving - it might be Wednesday, I guess we'll just find out tomorrow (assuming I manage to write the chapter tomorrow, but considering I've managed to write a new chapter everyday for the past wee while, the chances are looking good). Thanks for reading, and please review!

Replies to Reviews:

Krutarth: Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Personally, I really liked the chapter, because we got to see the different aspects of their relationship, and it shows how much it's developed since the start of the story.

Guest: Me too!

Carrot Lord: I'm happy you found it so funny, and thank you for your song suggestions, I'm glad I got to use one. Hope you liked the chapter!

joshannis12345: Thanks, I'm so happy that you love the story, and thank you so much for your song suggestions, I am now obsessed with Check yes Juliet, I have listened to it at least ten times since I read your review, and I'm hoping I can use it in one of the future chapters because I love it SO MUCH!

dodoking666: Ugh yeah, it was sooooo hard writing the heart to heart, I kept rewriting it because I wanted it to be completely perfect since it's such an important part of the story. I love that too, his songs are amazing, hope you liked th chapter.

MaddieJackson: Great! I'm welcome to as many suggestions as possible, I'm glad you liked the chapter and I'll try to use that song.

LukeBoy23: Thank you! I'm so sorry that your aunt and cousins had to go through that, and I hope your surgery went well! I'll try to use that song, and when you said they should sing a song together you gave me the best idea ever, and I love you for that, I'm excited for when I get to write it, hopefully it will be soon!

Yoshi133: I'm glad you liked the chapter, and they will be getting together in _ chapters. Sorry, I'm not gonna tell you when they get together, in all honesty I don't know how many chapters it will be in, I just know how it will happen. Hope you liked the chapter!

LeobadboyValdez0: Don't worry about it! I hope you had fun with your brother, and thanks for that idea, I know the perfect time to use it. ;-)

CancerGirl25: Thank you! I might do a Secret Santa, but I don't know if this story is going to last until Christmas, if it doesn't, I will defo use that in a future story.

Hestiaisboss: Thanks so much! I hope you liked this chapter too!

HaryP: I'm happy you like the story so much!

Guest: I'm glad yu liked the chapter! The chapter titles alternate between Percy and Annabeth's thoughts, so every odd number chapter is one of Percy's thought from that chapter, and every even number Is one of Annabeth's thoughts. SInce that was chapter 24 I had to use Annabeth's thought, otherwise I would have used 'she's too good for this world' or something.

Abby-E-Potter: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! That's so nice of you to say, I'm so so happy that you like the story so much.

Francesco: Thank you! And yeah they totally are.

DaughterofBlueFood: Thank you! I'm glad you liked it so much, I really enjoyed writing it. Yeah, they're not exactly blind to each others feelings, but rather to scared to admit it. They have both been hurt before by people that they thought that they could trust, and if they acknowledge each others feelings, it means they have to open themselves up to the risk of getting hurt again. I hope you liked rereading the first chapter, (I feel like my writing has improved a lot since then) and I hope you liked reading this chapter.

SeaMaster: I can neither confirm nor deny that.

Perceus-Prior: I've been quite proud of myself for being able to post this much, it just shows what you can do when you really put your mind to something, and enjoy doing it. Good luck with your story, don't worry about writer's block, for one of the chapters in this story I was stuck on it for three weeks! Also a little tip for writer's block, (that I got off of the TV show Jane the Virgin) is that sometimes the problem is further back, so maybe reread what you've written so far and double check that you're happy with it, that's what I've done so many times while writing this story and it always helps.

Other boys better be taking notes from Percy.

I don't perfectly plan out every chapter, when I first started this story I had the first eight chapters planned out, and then for a while after that I just wrote whatever I came up with. But I did have a couple things I was working towards, like the entire time I've been working towards Movie Night, then I was working towards Thanksgiving, and sometimes I just come up with ideas for chapter that I fall in love with and just keep in the back of my mind until I can use them. Like the last chapter, I just came up with the idea for Annabeth to meet Percy at the pool and see his scar. Also my 'plans' for chapters are really just the main event in that chapter, and maybe something I want to happen in it, for example I'll just write down party and spin the bottle, or movie night and truth or dare, or something like that.

ya6789: Sadly, they didn't, but they're getting together soon...ish.

SuperPotatoMan: Thank you! I'm happy you love it so much!

Guest: Thank you! And I know, I'm quite impressed with myself, but I may or may not neglect my schoolwork because I love writing this so much. ;-)

Quickly Please: The new chapter's here! Hope you liked it!
