Alice POV
"I hope it worked Mommy," Amber kept searching the future, it all seemed clear, no one was hurt.
"I'm sure they'll call soon," I assured her, kissing her soft curly hair. My psychic intuition was almost never off, and sure enough Edward's phone started ringing. He picked it up with utmost haste.
"Bella," he sounded in pain, his voice laced with worry and anxiety.
"Edward," he let go a sigh of relief at her soothing voice on the other end.
"Tell me everything," Edward's voice quickly changed to curiosity, now that he knew his wife wasn't harmed.
"We're all safe. It was lucky, incredible actually. Aro wanted to see into our memories of course. Jacob offered his thoughts up but just before Aro could find out about Amber, Jacob collapsed to the ground in pain. Aro was sure it was his doing. I asked Jake and he didn't know what happened either, just that it felt like his body was on fire," she explained the puzzling situation on the other end of the phone. I saw Amber's face turn into a small grin, her eyes sparkling with pride.
"I may have some idea what went on," Edward ran his hands through his hair, finally letting the corners of his mouth curve into a smile. "Our niece is quite powerful baby. Alice used her visions-or rather when her visions dissapeared-to see when Aro had decided to start reading Jacob's thoughts. Then Amber started combing through her visions. She had to work quickly, but finally she found an outcome that saw Jacob getting killed…burned by the Volturi. She tried to project it, focusing on the picture of him in her mind. We honestly didn't know if it had worked in time. We could tell of course that Aro decided to let you go and Amber no longer saw violence," Edward relayed all the information to Bella. I heard Carlisle murmuring in the background.
"That's incredible," Bella said wistfully.
"Our secret is still undisclosed for now," Edward sighed again. "Hurry home love," he closed his eyes, feeling peaceful.
"I love you," Bella told him, hanging up the phone.
"You did amazing," Jasper placed his hands on Amber's cheeks, full of admiration.
"Now that we can relax, shall we discuss the next elephant in the room?" Edward arched his eyebrow at me. I nodded, assuming he meant the vision I saw of Emmett and Rosalie. They would be home any minute now. Once we were sure our family was out of Volterra I was able to turn my attention back to them. Edward had seen my vision, he knew they were coming home successful.
"What do you mean dear?" Esme wondered, blissfully unaware of what I had seen.
"Emmett and Rosalie," he grumbled.
"You heard from them?" she asked, surprised, elated. Her face was an elongated smile.
"Alice saw them," he explained, tilting his head toward me.
"They should be home before everyone lands in Sweden. They were in Ireland," I remembered seeing Siobhan in my visions, and was glad Rosalie had found help. I knew they were putting us in even more danger, but how could I be mad? Rosalie was getting everything she had every wanted, the one puzzle piece that was missing from her existence. I wasn't sure if she would ever be the same-for the better I hoped. I shot a glance at Amber and could tell she knew what we were talking about.
"Let them explain," I whispered low enough for only her to hear. She pouted her lips but nodded quickly with understanding. She got a sparkle in her eye then, and placed her hand in mine. I was sucked into a quick succession of two visions. One of a little girl, dark brown, slightly wavy hair cascading to her hips. The other of a little boy, blonde, curly hair, dimples, almost a perfect replica of Emmett with Rosalie's hair color. My heart filled with love, and I couldn't wait to see how fate played out for my brother and sister. I came back to reality and saw even Edward had softened a little at the images he saw in my head. Jasper looked puzzled at my swelling emotions of adoration. "You'll see," I kissed him on the cheek.
The door opened then, a small crack, then swung wide open. I saw Emmett, his familiar face beaming but also slightly weary.
"Welcome back son," Esme was so pleased. She ran over and gave him a hug. Rosalie appeared then, a look on her face I almost didn't recognize. I had only ever seen Rosalie this happy on the days when she re-married Emmett. Esme was overcome with delight and went to hug Rosalie as well. "I was so worried, first you two left, then Carlisle, Bella and Renesmee," her voice was high-pitched, rambling. "You kids have a habit of doing this to me," she laughed, shooting a joking glare towards Edward.
"We're happy to be back," Rosalie's voice was empathetic as she returned the hug happily.
"Did you already tell them?" She pulled away, looking back and forth between Edward and I. I shook my head, and Esme's expression contorted back to confusion.
"It worked," she whispered. She lifted her black and pink Balenciaga sweater to reveal a small, familiar bump. The scars, the bruise, it was almost like deja-vu for me. Esme's brain rapidly processed what was going on. Her eyes glittered, and I knew she would be crying if she could. She threw her arms around Rosalie's neck.
"Oh Rose I'm so happy for you." I looked to Jasper to see how he was taking the news. He didn't seem mad but he held an unchanging look, his mouth settled into a thin line. Amber of course was bouncing with excitement that she could finally talk about the information and that she was getting another cousin to play with.
"Sorry it took us a bit longer to get back here," Emmett apologized. "All the running was making Rosalie more tired than usual, I had to keep her off the path of humans, and we had he stop to hunt more," I could tell he was teasing her now. She just rolled her eyes and laughed it off.
"Edward, Jasper?" Rosalie came to sit down where Esme had been waiting, Emmett trailing her. She was waiting for approval from her brothers.
"I'm not upset with you," Jasper started, "I can't fault you for going after your greatest desire in this life. I can't lie and say I am not worried about the new problems this presents," his answer was calculated and I knew he was holding back slightly. He tried to be compassionate but his years stuck in a military setting (both human and vampire) made it difficult for him to overlook danger. She seemed to understand his answer, and gave a small smile.
"I feel the same. More babies means more to hide form the Volturi. Of course I'm happy for you though Rose. It's been almost eighty years. You deserve this," Edward had seen Rosalie miserable the longest and I knew he truly was happy her existence was gaining more meaning.
"I just want to say thank you Alice. As crazy as all this has been if you didn't get hurt and get pregnant we still would all be in the dark that this," she gestured to her stomach again, "was even a possibility."
"Can I show her mommy?" Amber asked excitedly, wanting to share the possible features of her child. I squeezed her hand in approval and she leapt the small distance to Rosalie. She pressed her hand to Rose's face and I watched her blank expression. When her eyes returned to normal, her smile was undeniable.
"They're both so beautiful," she whispered, playing with Amber's perfect ringlets. "Thank you."
"No fair I wanna see," Emmett joked, picking Amber up out of Rosalie's lap. She squealed with delight, eager to share her gift. His reaction was much the same, a goofy grin with a hint of pride in his eyes.
"How did things with the Volturi go?" Rosalie asked hesitantly, not wanting to break up the happy mood.
"Everything went well," I assured her. "Amber was able to use her vision projection and it stopped Aro from getting to the part in Jacob's mind where I was pregnant."
"So we're safe?" a sense of relief flooded her features.
"For now," Jasper reminded her.
"'I'm sure Carlisle will be delighted that his theory worked," Esme chimed in.
"What about you?" Rosalie turned her head towards Esme who was perched on the side of a chair.
"What do you mean dear?" she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I mean aren't you excited? We know it can be duplicated. That mean there's a possibility you and Carlisle could have a child," Rosalie was getting more excited as she spoke. Esme bit her lip looking around to all of us.
"I'm not sure if the desire is there. When I was changed I was still grieving the loss of my son, and back then I wanted nothing more than to have a child of my own. I didn't get one, I got six," she beamed. "And now I have two-soon to be three beautiful grandchildren. Of course I want to see how Carlisle feels, but for me, you all are more than enough." I felt so much love and gratitude towards her in that moment. It was always odd to hear her speak as though she was the same age as a human grandmother, when physically she wasn't too much older than the rest of us. I assumed it was similar to how humans felt. Some wanted their own children while others were happy to adopt.
"Aww thanks mom," Emmett gave her a big hug, exponentially bigger and taller than her, it was an adorable sight.
"I did tell the Irish coven," Rosalie continued to fill us in on what she had been up to. "I don't think we have to worry about them spreading the information, but they do know."
"They are dear allies to Carlisle, I think they will keep our secret," Esme noted. "I'm glad they were able to help you Rosalie."
"I'm sorry again for leaving," she shot an endearing look towards Esme, "I have a bit of a temper."
"We know," Jasper laughed, and I couldn't help but revel in the normality of this moment.
Bella POV
Landing in Östersund after visiting Volterra was eerily similar to landing in Forks-what seemed like forever ago now. The memory was foggy but I still remembered how exhausted I felt, how happy Alice was to reunite with Jasper, how upset Esme was at Edward for leaving. As our family exited the airplane I couldn't help but wonder what the scene would look like this time. Esme and Edward had come to the airport to greet us, desperate to see with their own eyes we were safe. Jacob held Renesmee's hand as we made our way, at human pace through the small airport. Fresh snow covered the ground outside and bag check was only a few steps away. I smelled him before I saw him. Edward's familiar scent of sunshine, lilac, and honey made me feel at home. A family moved towards the doors and I saw them then. Esme looked nervous next to Edward, who's eyes kept darting between Renesmee and mine. I tried to keep a normal speed, breathing, blinking. Too slowly for my liking I reached Edward. He picked up Nessie and held her close on his hip, pulling me into a hug on the other side of him. He placed a kiss in my hair and breathed-inhaling my scent as well. This moment made me never want to leave again.
"Come on," Carlisle placed his hand on my shoulder, the other holding tightly to Esme. "Everyone at home Is eager to see you."
"Everyone?" I asked hopefully.
"Yes, Rosalie and Emmett are back," Edward set Renesmee down linking one hand to each of ours as we headed towards the car.
"I don't think even us being safe will make blondie glad to see me," Jacob laughed following us outside into the harsh cold air.
"Somehow I don't think she will be as malice towards you," Edward snickered back. "Besides I thought you two got along-for Nessie's sake."
"Sometimes," Jacob answered flatly, "but if someday ice cold barbie melts I'll be happy to try and make amends."
"Jacob," I smacked him, narrowing my eyes. He raised his hands in defense, dropping the subject.
"How long will you be staying with us Jacob?" Carlisle asked casually, opening the doors to the small pickup lane. Looking quickly for cars, we scampered over to the cell lot where our newest car- a Mercedes GLS was waiting. Esme had bought it as an early Christmas present for the family, knowing we needed more room with more of us now.
"As long as you'll have me. Which I'm guessing isn't very long," Jacob laughed jokily.
"Nonsense," Esme smiled at him, "tomorrow is Christmas, you have to stay at least until then. I told the kids to start decorating before we left." Nessie beamed, she loved Christmas and had yet to experience one without Jacob.
"Thank you," Jacob dipped his head towards her, as we all climbed into the SUV.
"I'm just so relieved you're all okay," she placed her hand over Carlisle's as we started to drive off.
"They didn't find out anything," he assured her. "I suppose we have our granddaughter to thank for that."
"Have you ever heard of something like that?" I wondered, she was more powerful than any vampire I had ever encountered.
"No," Carlisle mused, "being able to project a power is almost unheard of. Consider Alice though, she saw visions of Jasper before she even knew he existed," he continued. "Jasper and Alice are both graced with incredible gifts, it makes sense their daughter would be multi-talented."
"Like Renesmee," Edward pointed out. He nodded, and I noticed Esme looking out the window, seemingly deep in thought.
"Everything okay Esme?" I wondered, wishing I had Edward's mind reading ability.
"Of course dear," she assured me, "just thinking." I wanted to know more but decided to leave it alone. Renesmee was cuddled close to Edward, just enjoying being back home. The car ride continued silently until we pulled up our long stretch of road. I noticed candy cane poles wrapped in twinkle lights, on either side of the driveway. The roof was outlined in colored lights as well, a beautiful ornate wreath hanging on the door.
"I'm still getting used to how fast we get things done," I laughed, memorized by the elaborately decorated outdoors. Heading inside was no different. A huge tree hugged the corner of the room, covered in ornaments and white lights. A few presents were splayed on the ground beneath it. Ten stockings were hung carefully over the fireplace and tinsel and holly were garnished over every empty crevice. Jacob whistled.
"You put Christmas back home to shame."
"It's what we do," Alice beamed, carrying Amber who was dressed in a red sparkly outfit, glitter sprinkled throughout her hair.
"I helped," Amber declared proudly.
"Where do you want this?" Emmett came out of the garage door, carrying a giant reindeer, made entirely of lights.
"Out back, but keep it close to the window," Alice directed him. He nodded, speeding off.
"Well if anyone needs me I'll be in the kitchen," Jacob sauntered over to the fridge. "Want something Ness?" She nodded eagerly and skipped over to join him.
"Where's Rosalie and Jasper?" I looked around noticing neither of them were around helping out.
"Daddy is in the shower," Amber told me happily. "Uncle Emmett and him were joking around putting up the lights and he fell in the snow." "Aunt Rose is.." she trailed off. "She's about to need me." Alice nodded seeming to understand her cryptic request and they both darted up the stairs.
"What was that about?" I asked Edward. He just shrugged, and I gave him an annoyed look. I knew he was hiding something from me and I didn't appreciate it.
"You'll see," he mouthed to me, noticing my grimace. In a few moments, Alice and Amber returned, Rosalie trailing behind them. Amber was massaging her temples slightly, Alice holding her close.
"Bella!" Rosalie called. I was a little surprised as I wasn't usually Rosalie's favorite person in a room. She ran over and hugged me close, I returned the hug still a little confused. Edward just chuckled quietly next to me.
"Oh Rose, I know he's not your favorite but Jacob is going to stay with us for at least another few days. Didn't feel right to have him miss Christmas with Nessie," I explained, looking over at Jacob and Renesmee cooking what appeared to be grilled cheese.
"It's only the smell of wet dog that will bother me," she laughed, tossing her blonde hair behind her shoulder. "But of course he's welcome here."
"Okay Rose what gives?" I asked, skeptical of her light demeanor.
"Bella," she gave me a look, like she was disappointed I didn't understand. "I'm pregnant." Her smile returned then, unwavering. My eyes went a bit wide then, but I guessed that's where they had run off to, I was just surprised it had worked out so well.
"You're sure?" I felt stupid as the question popped out of my mouth. Her brilliant laugh filled the room.
"Well there's no magic stick to tell me like humans have. But I've got the vomiting, the sensitive smell, and of course the bruises," even that didn't seem to deter her happiness.
"Plus I've seen it," Amber piped up, her sweet voice was still mesmerizing.
"Oh they're so cute Bella do you want to see?" Rosalie gushed, pulling me towards Amber.
"They?" I asked, again feeling very out of the loop.
"Well she can't tell if it's a boy or a girl yet, but she has seen each one, she knows what they will look like." I just nodded, trying to keep up with all of this new information. I held out my hand and was immediately consumed by the visions. Two children, perfect in their own right. The little girl, had Rosalie's facial features but dark brown hair instead of blonde. The boy was a spitting image of Emmett but had some softness to him and blonde curly hair to frame his face. I pulled away, still stunned.
"What's going on in here?" Jake came out of the kitchen, chewing on the edge of a sandwich. I saw Rosalie look away in disgust, not as violent of a reaction as Alice used to have.
"Rosalie is pregnant," Edward informed him gently. Jacob choked a little on the sandwich he was chewing.
"No shit," he turned to look at her for verification. She just nodded, holding her sweatshirt over her nose. "I thought the vampire baby was just like a one time thing."
"No, Carlisle figured out a way to recreate it. Not perfect, but Rosalie was able to get some help to sway the odds," Alice clarified. Emmett came back inside then, joining Rosalie's side.
"Another cousin!" Renesmee was delighted with the news.
"You," I pointed to Nessie, "Bed." She whined, but I knew she was tired, it was getting late and the plane ride wasn't exactly the best place to sleep. She grumbled about it being unfair that she was the only one that had to go to bed. Edward kissed her on the forehead and I guided her up the stairs.
Alice POV
The night crept on quietly, it seemed for once our family was at peace. We knew at some point all of my visions of the Volturi would come to fruition, but for now we were just us. As weird as our family seemed, not fitting in with the human world, nor the vampires, we were happy-and that's all that mattered. Rosalie gushed about her trip to Ireland, how welcoming Siobhan had been, just how happy she was. It was something I thought I would never see. Edward told me that Rosalie had always had an ice wall around her. When she was first changed it was impenetrable. Killing her rapists had helped, love from Carlisle and Esme softened her still. Meeting Emmett was the biggest turning point of course, and at least in his presence she was vulnerable. But the rest of us hardly ever saw that side of her, there was always one last piece of that impermeable wall. And just like that, it had come crashing down. Rosalie was finally whole, and it made me feel even more certain about our decisions. Children were made to be loved, taught, an integral part of any family-ours were no different. I just had to hold on to the idea that the Volturi would understand that somehow.
"Why don't you go upstairs for a while and play with Esme," I told Amber, placing a kiss on her cheek.
"I know you're just trying to get rid of me to wrap presents," she stuck her little tongue out at me and I laughed, recognizing how often I did that. "I've seen what I'm getting."
"Stop peeking then!" I feigned discipline, knowing I was one of the hardest people to surprise.
"Fine fine," she giggled, and Esme picked her up.
"Come on, let's go see if we can't find somewhere to put Rosalie and Emmett's baby. An addition to the house may be in order," Esme was glee with the thought of more architectural work. Amber clapped, eager to learn more. Carlisle disappeared upstairs and was back in mere seconds with bags of items, some presents already wrapped, paper, bows, and other supplies. All of us had been hard at work, shopping online for gifts.
"You better not have seen my gift again," Jasper teased nudging my arm. I had been fighting the urge to look for a while, there had only been a few Christmases and birthdays that weren't spoiled.
"I promise I didn't," I raised my arms in surrender.
"Let's get to wrapping," Emmett looked excited, as he picked up a bundle of clothes that looked to be for Renesmee. Carlisle let us know the ones already wrapped were from Esme and himself, or were from husband to wife and vice versa. Mostly we were just taking care of kid's gifts. We did not go light on the presents though. Renesmee was getting a bracelet making kit, modeling clay, LEGO, a new iPad, a WiiU (more Emmett's idea than hers), and of course clothes for her ever changing size. Amber had received a bunch of clothes as well, jewelry, nail polish, building blocks, several dolls, and even more. The kids had so many toys I was losing track as we all took turns wrapping.
"It's so nice to have more kids to celebrate Christmas with," Carlisle mused.
"I already asked Esme, but I want to know how you feel," Rosalie interjected. "Do you want a baby? Or at least try?" Carlisle pondered her question for a moment.
"You are all my children. It has been so long now since I have even thought of the human need to father children. I know at one time it was very important to Esme. I always cursed myself that I couldn't give her what she needed. I tried for several years to figure out a way for us to bear children. I always had theories but could never go through with them. Esme is my wife and I didn't want to hurt her, for something that wasn't guaranteed. I think she has grown to see you all as her own children as well. It's intriguing, the thought of how a child of ours would act, look…feel," he trailed off slightly and his face started looking a little solemn.
"Just think on it," Rosalie suggested, noticing his faltering expression. He nodded, smiling at her.
"I'm just glad to know my research has helped you," he said warmly to Rosalie. "Really we have Alice to thank." He looked at me with admiration.
"Not even me, it was a fluke," I laughed.
"A miracle," Jasper corrected, grabbing my hand.
"Our family is prone to those it seems," Carlisle tittered. We worked inaudibly, humming to ourselves, feeling content. I started to see the sunrise outside, everyone preoccupied with their own activities. Esme had brought Amber downstairs a little while ago and had joined Carlisle on the chaise for reading. Emmett and Rosalie had retired to their room and Jasper and I sat quietly, Amber drawing next to us. Jacob emerged downstairs first, stretching and rubbing his eyes.
"Morning," he waved briefly, heading into the kitchen. Nessie followed shortly after, her eyes lit with excitement when she noticed the enormous mound of presents under the tree.
"Merry Christmas," Bella called, rushing over to give Renesmee - still in her flannel pajamas- a hug.
"First Christmas in Sweden what do we think?" Edward asked peering out the large back window. The sun danced brilliantly off the fresh layer of snow. It was slightly hazy out but the snow covered trees and rocks still were dominant on the landscape. Some of the decorations we had set out were visible, adding to the winter atmosphere.
"It's beautiful," Renesmee was entranced by the captivating scene outside.
"Grandpa," Amber turned toward Carlisle, "you've seen the most Christmases in different places. Where was your favorite?" He paused to think for a brief moment.
"Depends on how you mean. This Christmas right now is very special to me because it's the first one with you, our newest Cullen. My first Christmas with Esme was also very wonderful, as was the first with Edward, and Rosalie, and you get the point," he laughed. "But the most beautiful place I have ever been at Christmas time is Austria, specifically Salzburg. In fact, I'm hoping someday we can all move there. It is a cloudy town but it is so beautiful. Snow covering the old cobblestone alley way and cathedral buildings. Trees covering every hill surrounding the little marketplaces. I only visited their briefly after leaving the Volturi but it has always held a special place in my memory." As he talked I noticed Amber's eyes gazing in and out of focus, I wasn't sure exactly what she was searching for.
"I see it," she declared. "There's a future out there where I saw us all there. In the little village, strands of holly all around, lights glistening. We had a lovely home there."
"Well I for one hope that is one of your visions that comes true," Carlisle winked at her.
"Time for presents!" Jacob was holding coffee in one hand and a donut in the other. He came to sit by Renesmee under the tree. I watched with love and admiration as our family chatted, laughed, hugged, everyone thankful for the gifts they were given. The children were busy playing with their new toys and trying on clothes.
"Merry Christmas," Jasper whispered in my ear, handing me a small neatly wrapped box. He had already given me a new ring so I knew this was a different kind of jewelry. I undid the paper carefully and saw a red jewelry box. I opened it slowly and was overcome with emotion. Inside was a beautiful gold Cartier love necklace. Two gold rings encircled each other, one plain, one with small diamonds surrounding it. "The lady at the store said this one is popular for mother's day. The circles represent the mother daughter bond. I know it's a different holiday but this our first Christmas with her. I thought you needed something special." I flung my arms around his neck and dry sobbed with happiness.
"It's beautiful Jazzy thank you so much," I closed my eyes and placed a small kiss behind his ear, inhaling his familiar scent. "I couldn't have asked for anything better."
"You're an amazing mother, and Amber is lucky to have you. I can't wait until she can dance and go shopping with you. You two are so much alike already." My heart was full with happiness, and I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have such a perfect family. I thought of all those years ago when I first saw Jasper in a vision, I had no idea then that my life would blossom into something so extraordinary.
The next few days passed by serenely, we were all soaking in the last few moments of Christmas break. Jacob had left yesterday begrudgingly, and was already looking for an excuse to come visit again. Rosalie had gone through a growth spurt, her belly visibly developing. She was progressing identically to me, so she knew it would be only another few weeks before she got to see her baby. Amber had agreed to be there to help heal her once the baby was born. It worried me because I knew it hurt Amber to cure others but she had assured me it was something she wanted to do.
"So have you picked out any names?" I asked Rose. The boys had left to hunt, Bella was upstairs with Renesmee and Amber, and Esme, Rosalie and I were all sitting in the living room talking.
"I've had names picked out since I was human," she laughed. "Of course a lot has changed, plus Emmett has had a strong opinion about some of my choices."
"He only likes a few?" Esme guessed.
"Try only four. I thought I was the one who was desperate for a baby but it turns out Emmett has become very supporting on this subject."
"We are thinking Lincoln or Macartan for a boy, Leilani or Melanie for a girl."
"I love those," I smiled at her.
"Esme," Rosalie wondered carefully, "What was your son's name?" Esme looked slightly taken aback at the question but her expression quickly calmed.
"No one has asked me about that in a long time," she smiled unconscientiously. "I think only Carlisle and Edward know."
"You don't have to answer, I'm sorry if I misstepped," Rosalie apologized.
"No it's okay. His name was Joseph," her eyes seemed far away as she talked about him.
"That's lovely," Rosalie touched Esme's arm gently. "I'm sorry you never got to know him."
"It's been almost a hundred years now. I still think about him sometimes. But I know he was lucky, never having to meet Charles."
"And you never would have been with Carlisle," Rosalie interjected.
"I like to think it was all meant to be. Carlisle and I met before when I was a young girl, it wasn't a coincidence. Vampires mate for life, and fate seems to always step in to make sure we find them," she was smiling brighter now. "It wasn't an accident that you happened to find Emmett that day in the woods, or that Alice's first vision when she awoke was of Jasper, or even that we moved to Forks a few years before Bella arrived," her eyes were soft, she was genuinely happy thinking about all her children.
"That's a great outlook to have. I think you're onto something," I said. From the moment Edward met Bella I was already having visions of them together, and her as a vampire. Once we knew who our mate was, there was no going back.
"I don't even think it was a happenstance that our family was able to bear children. We are unique in that we are vegetarians, non-nomadic vampires. We're a true family." Esme replied. I couldn't help but think that was why the Volturi were always jealous of us. We had something they would never have, a family based in love-not power. We valued human life and saw being akin to them as a compliment.
"Alice!" I heard Bella cry from upstairs. I ran to her as quickly as possible, kneeling beside Bella on the floor. "You need to see this." Bella spoke intently, Amber's hand still resting on Bella's cheek.
"What happened?" I asked Amber weakly, seeing the deep fear in her eyes.
"They're coming back," Amber's voice was barely a whisper. "They haven't made a decision when. They want to do it at the last minute." I just nodded, I wasn't sure exactly who she was talking about. She scooted herself over to my lap and placed her hand on my cheek. I was sucked into a scene of snow, three vampires were standing together, discussing intently. I recognized one immediately as Maria, the other two I couldn't see until they turned around. It was Aurora's sister and her mate, their red eyes lit with excitement. The vision was mundane enough, but it was their conversation that made me cringe to my very core.
Sorry about taking a while to update, but I hope you all enjoyed this new chapter. Also sorry about the cliffhanger, but I couldn't reveal too much too soon ;). What do you think of Rosalie's baby names? As always if you have a minute please leave a review! XO
