A surprise
It was the next day and the ninja where getting ready to leave.
Jag then said "Do you truly need to leave now?"
"You all can protect yourself, the people of Ninjago can't. And even if danger is not around at the moment. I just want to be home.' Maya smiles.
"We understand." Jag nods, the people wave and cheer as the ninja and the rest get on. Misako as well as she be coming to stay wither son and husband.
As they got on they flew off and everyone was happy to be leaving, to finally go home. It would take to days to get back but they were all content with this. Just happy to have each other safe and sound.
As they headed back Nya asked Maya what she wanted as her wedding dress. Maya flushed but showed her a picture she made and Nya smiled at the beautiful design. When Maya wasn't looking she took a picture of it and saved it to her phone.
Also on their way back Wu asked about their idea on he monastery as Kai had finally told them. Maya and Zane gave their ideas, Maya especially liked the idea of a garden in the back of the monastery for them to relax.
Zane agreed saying "It be a perfect date spot when we can't go out." Zane chuckles. Wu smiled taking this in.
A few hours before they got to Ninjago Maya sat Zane down in the living room and said "I now it's not our wedding yet but I wanted to give it to you now."
Zane opened the small box with a green ribbon and smiled "Maya, a falcon necklace. I love it." He hugs her.
"I just, after everything I just couldn't wait to give it to you." Maya flushes.
"Then I should give you your present now. It is already finished." Zane smiles.
"You made me something?" Maya smiles.
"In a sense." Zane rushed out but rushed back in with the photo album.
"I am sorry it is not wrapped I did not have the time." Zane rubbed the back of his head.
"That's okay we have bean busy." Maya smiles as she opens the book and gasps "Oh Zane.' Maya looks from cover to cover and finds all their adventures and even dates on the album.
"How did you do this?" Maya asked.
"My falcon friend. It seems he does not like letting us be alone." Zane chuckles.
"Cheeky little thing he is." Maya chuckles, then looks back at the photo album and finds her letter and some pictures she made for him and gasps.
"But Zane those where for you." Maya looks surprised.
"I was thinking we could put your letters as well and keep them as memories, maybe and one day look back at them and laugh." Zane said with a smile then jumped.
"Maya are you okay, why are you crying?" Zane looked worried.
"I'm crying because I'm so happy. Zane this is beautiful." Maya launched into his chest and snuggles him.
Zane feels flushed to his ears, like their early days of dating, but he guessed he would never get used to her hugs. 'And I love that about her.' he hugs back and snuggles her head.
As they reached Ninjago for some reason they stopped on top of a building in the middle of Ninjago city.
"Why did we stop here?" Zane scratches his head.
"You will see." Wu smiles as they headed out. Once at the deck they both gasped, there down at the park was their friend and family, even some of the people they save in Ninjago, including the mayor who was standing at the end of an isle.
The park was decorated in roses and lavender sakuras. A white cake with purple sakuras and green leaves stood at a nice table with other nice looking food.
The park was decorated to look like a fairy garden with butterflies, lanterns, and see through fabric everywhere.
"Our wedding." Maya looked on with tears.
"But how?" Zane asked shocked.
"Kai, if you can believe it." Nay pointed at her brother.
"Yeah he called the mayor and told her everything that happened and your idea about the monastery and having a simple wedding." Jay smiles.
"Who knew hot head could be such a romantic." Cole chuckles.
"Hey after everything they've bean through they deserve to have a really great day on their wedding. And when I heard abou the monistary I thought it be a great idea to keep everyone together." Kai flushes arms crossed.
Maya hugged Kai and said "You are so sweet." Maya smiles.
"Yes Kai, we owe you much for this. As my thanks will you be my best man?" Zane smiles.
"Really, I wasn't thinking of it but sure!" Kai smiles.
The all cheered at this "The monastery will take time for it to be complete but you two will be heading off to your honeymoon anyway and it should be finished by then." Wu smirks.
"Honeymoon?" they both said flushed and surprised.
"You two never got to decided so we decided to pick something you two might like." Nya smirks.
"Ninjago cabin resort. Get lost in the wild. Go swimming the clear lake. And a few special events that they'll have so bring some nice outfits to dance in." Jay winks.
The tow looked on shocked, they couldn't believe their friends.
"But how?" Maya looks shocked.
"How did you all manage that?" Zane looked shocked.
"I have a good saving deposit and Dr. Julien has a lot of stock saved up from not using his bank for so long." Wu smiles.
"Turn out being imprisoned for a bit helped with my income." Dr. Julien chuckled.
"Think of it as our joint wedding present." Wu winks.
"And an incentive for grandchildren." Dr. Julien smirks.
The two laugh at this, knowing the two had a catch to it, but they would just have to wait on that.
"Come on you have to get ready." Nya smirks.
"But my dress, Nya you didn't." Maya's eyes widened.
"What, what dress?" Zane looks over wide eyed.
"Sorry buddy that's a surprise. Come on let's get you into your tux." Kai pats his back and everyone heads off to get ready for the wedding.
Sometime later….
Zane is standing at the alter fidgeting nervously, Kai pats his back trying to calm him. Cole and Jay stand next to him as grooms men. Julien and Wu sitting at he front with Maya's mother who was crying.
"I am nervous." Zane spoke out.
The guys laughed at the abruptness and Kai said "It be weird if you weren't man."
"Yeah it's a big step." Jay smiles thinking of what it would be like to ask Nya to marry him.
"But don't worry. We'll all be here for you Frosty." Cole crossed his arm and smiled.
Zane smiled at this and nodded his thanks.
Meanwhile….
Maya looked at the herself in the mirror in shock "Is that really me?"
She was wearing along white dress down to the floor with a heart shaped neckline. Under her chest was a row of lavender sakuras and diamonds. Attached to each side was a transparent veil that went down the dress and trailed behind a bit and sparkled. She wore white gloves that only attached ot her middle finger and only came up to a little above her chest. She wore silver bracelets with lavender jewels on them. Around her neck was a silver choker with three silver petals coming out in the middle, a lavender jewel in the middle of the necklace. Lavender jewel earrings. Finally her hair was waves and adorned with a lavender sakura crown with little diamonds in them.
She wore lavender eyeshadow, peach blush, and sakura lipstick.
"It really is. You look amazing." Nya smiles.
"Thank you for his Nya." Maya felt tears fall.
"Hey don't do that the makeup will smudge, now go out then and make him flip." Nya smirks as she gives her white roses and lavender sakuras.
Maya smiled keeping the tears at by and waited to go down the isle.
Nya went first and Jay felt like he fall over 'Okay I want to marry her.'
Kai jabbed him in the ribs knowing what he was thinking and Jay flinched 'But I can wait.' He sighs.
Next came Lloyd with Maya's oldest nephew, Asher. The two being the ring bearer and Asher throwing flowers about. Everyone awed at his.
Maya's dad was waiting for her and said "Ready for this?"
Maya nodded, he took her by the shoulder and the two walked down the isle. At the cue Lou and his group sang 'Fix you.'
Zane looked out and felt like he couldn't breath. 'She is an angel.' He looked on wide eyed and almost felt like he float away. Actually…..
Kai grabbed Zane by the arm shirt and pulled him down "Wough Zane don't go causing a storm." Kai smirks.
Everyone chuckled at this as Zane flushed as he realized that he had almost used his full potential.
Maya was chuckling hard at this as she thought 'Oh Zane, I love you.' She smiles flushed.
"You got yourself some guy Maya." Vic chuckles.
"I really do dad." Maya smiles lovingly at Zane who returned it.
Once at the front he kissed her cheek and sat with his wife who was calming down to see the ceremony.
The mayor came up and said "Friends, family, we come together this day to make these two ninja one. They have battled through many obstacles and enemies and in that time they have fallen in love and formed a bond that cannot be severed. And now they come together after facing so much just to be with each other. Do you have any vows to say?"
Zane looked at Maya and started "Maya, I was once lost and felt empty. You helped fill that hole in me when I gained my memories and then filled me with something else. Love. Something I don't think I ever thought of till that fateful day in birchwood forest. When on our knees you confessed your love to me and I realized I felt the same. I will always be there to protect you my love. Now and forever."
People awed a this and others cried.
Maya felt tears and said "Zane. I don't know what pulled me to you, weather it was this bond or it was something else. I felt drawn to you. I felt your pain and love so easily. I never felt that way with another before. You were always honest with me. And on that day when we found your past when I thought I could not be with you. I felt my heart break so much, but when I found out that our love could be I let my love out to you so that I may never lose you. I promise to protect you as well Zane, my Icy love." She smiles.
Some awed and other chuckled at the end of this.
"Please the rings." The mayor asks.
Lloyd gives them to Zane who smiles and then the mayor asks "Zane do you take Maya to be your wife?"
"I do." Zane puts the ring on, it was a very thin white gold band with a tiny diamond in the middle. Maya smiled, she wanted it that way so she could keep engagement ring. Since it was so special to her.
"Maya do you take Zane to be your husband?" The Mayor asks.
"I do." Maya puts a thick white gold band with a small diamond on Zane's finger. Classy and simply like him.
"In the power invested in me as this cities Mayor I now pronounce husband and wife, you may kiss the bride!" the mayor cheered as did everyone else.
Maya put her arms around Zane as he held her close as they kissed. As they did Zane felt his power flux a bit and it began to slow slightly, the kids chuckled and cheered as they ran about trying to play with the light snow that over the park making it look like a slight winter wonderland.
It was then time for the party.
Zane and Maya dance to magical, their song. For their first dance as husband and wife. Then she danced with her father and Lea danced with Zane as a way to welcome him to the family.
Wu and then Julien danced with Maya in their own way of welcoming her to the family. Lloyd even took a turn with Maya, as did her two nephews. Everyone thought it was adorable.
Soon all couples where on the dance floor. Jay and Nya had gotten better at dancing and where cutting a rug together. Cole and Kai danced with some of Mayayounger cousins to be polite but nothing else.
The little ones danced all together having fun. Lloyd dancing with his mom when he could and Garmadon doing so as well to get all the time he lost with his wife back.
Even the falcon danced about on a tree branch nearby.
Maya and Zane danced through it all, lost in each other. They later got a few gifts to help them start up their new married life and such. Zane was quite happy with the kitchen supplies as Maya chuckled as his childlike expression while Maya adored the nick knacks for their room.
As cake came, let's just say Wu and Nya took turns guarding it from Cole, the two happily fed each other calmly yet still flushed. Everyone chuckling at the red cheeks. Maya decided to lightenthe mood but smudged Zane nose. He was confused as Maya chuckled then he smeared her with his nose and she yelled. Everyone had to laugh.
There was one more thing to do before the wedding ended, throw the flowers.
Maya got on a box and three the flowers over her head and the one to catch them was actually "Misako?" Garmadon flushed.
"I think it's about time we renew our vows." She smiles and the man puled with a flushed face making everyone chuckle.
Now it was time to say goodbye.
"The monastery will be ready when you get back." Wu smiles at them.
"Remmerb what we talked about son." Julien winks.
"Father?" Zane flushes.
"If this is about grandchildren I'm in. I want more." Lea begs.
"Mom." Maya flushes.
They all laughed and talk till it was just Nya and the ninja.
"You two have fun we'll see you in two weeks." Kai hugs.
"Yeah we'll get the place ready for you two." Nya smiles.
"And we'll have to figure out what to do next now that we don't; have to deal with Garmadon or the snakes." Jay chuckles.
"We'll figure something out, we're ninja it cant be that hard." They all chuckled at that and soon Zane and Maya got in the rented care with their packed things.
As they left they waved to their friends who waved back, they be waiting for them to come home.
As they rode away Maya said "So Mr. Julien-Wu. What do you think will be our next adventure?" Maya smiles.
"I do not know, but as long as I have you by my side. I know I can face it." Zane held her hands with a tender smile. The two kissed happily, not able to wait to get their married life started.
While their story would continue and more adventures would come, for now the two would have some peace.
