Author's Note - Hope ya'll are doin ok out there. I am hoping to finish this story soon. It is wearing me down being back to writing it. So many things I don't like about the early story and I can't remember half of it since I wrote more than half of it 5 years ago.

Leave a review if you like it. I am really struggling to push through and every comment helps.

Chapter 32

The two weeks went by quickly. Stan and Kyle kept up their sparring regimen during the day and then began practicing magic together in the evenings, not returning to the Marsh home until very late. Stan still couldn't perform the simplest of spells, although he had a lot of it, his magic was violent and unfocused. He didn't seem upset about it though. He'd found a way to use his magic to great effect. He was explaining his thought process to his mother and Kyle at the dinner table currently.

"So I've been working on release my magic in small bursts. I can't really shape it, but I can direct it." He said excitedly while doing a few punches in the air.

"I suppose you could use your magic like a weapon. Firing bursts of raw energy like bullets from a gun." Randy said nodding and thinking of the possibilities. "That would only work for someone with a massive amount of magic though. For the average mage it would be more effective to use a spell rather than burn through your magic that way."

"But that isn't even the best part!" Stan said excitedly jumping up from the table too excited to wait. "Kyle lets show them!"

"Are you sure dude? You hit a tree last time you tried." Kyle said as he took another bite from his burrito.

"It's fine! I had so much magic running through my body the tree took more damage than I did." Stan motioned for his parents to follow him outside. "Besides, I need more practice. We've only got a couple of weeks left."

"Alright Stanley, settle down we're coming. Let me just shift us into the Nightlands…" Sharon said beginning to reach inward for her magic.

"Oh don't worry about it Sharon, I've already got it," Kyle said and with a small effort brought them through to the twisted version of the waking world as they stepped through the back door.

"Well done Kyle!" She exclaimed proudly.

"Now what is so urgent to show us, Stanley?" His father asked still eating his burrito that he'd brought with him.

"Just watch!" Stan said as he walked out into the middle of the twisted version of the yard. He reached inward for the restless magic in his soul. He only grabbed a small portion of it. He thought it was comparable to what he'd done the night of the attack. He let the magic flow through his body like ethereal blood. Everything buzzed and he felt stronger and faster, more alive.

"You aren't going to be able to fire a blast of magic if you don't concentra-" His mother began to say as she shook her head. But Stan just smiled and then he jumped.

Stan soared up into the air easily clearing twenty feet. Right when it seemed like he was gonna start to drop he angled his body to be horizontal with the ground and then released bursts of magic from both feet. He shot through the air over their heads, flipping over he released another burst of magic to shoot back towards the ground. As he hit the ground he slid and then launched into a flying kick towards a tristed version of a tree, the trunk exploded on impact.

"Incredible!" Sharon exclaimed clapping. "Just like your grandfather and sister."

"Another Marsh who can carry on the invincible title" Randy added wiping tears from his eyes.

"It's cool right!?" Stan said dusting himself off as he laughed.

"It's very cool" Kyle said shaking his head at his boyfriend's childish glee.

"It works a little different from how Grandpa and Shelly move like that, but it accomplishes the same thing. Should allow me to fight on par with even the strongest revenant, even bare-handed."

Back in the waking world…

Wendy was starting to get the hang of shooting. She could now actually it the target, though she still was all over it. She was constantly sore from the exercise her parents were putting her through. She had a new respect for ordinary humans who spent all their time exercising.

"You're getting better sweet-heart" Her father said watching from an armchair behind her.

"How about you try the shotgun next?" Her mother asked as she set the gun and the box of shells in front of her daughter.

At the McCormick house…

Kenny was pulling a pizza out of the oven while Butters was running Karen and Ike through their exercises in the backyard. They weren't going to start combat training for a couple more years but they were going to start building the physical strength they would need for it.

"Dinner is ready!" He said, opening up the back door.

In the woods…

Cartman was enjoying the solitude. He was enjoying the silence and time alone. With his jailor trapped outside the town, he finally had some time to himself. He quite liked not taking orders from anyone.

Outside the South Park limits…

The young man was calm now. He raged for days, but now he just simmered, like a gathering storm. He could feel the compulsion weakening, once it was gone he would destroy the entire town. He would wipe it off the map.

AN - Shortest chapter I know. I am really trying to finish this story without dropping the quality but I am struggling with my motivation. Please leave some comments if you want me to finish this! It seriously helps me push through my boredom with the story.
