Bonus – Lessons

Major's eyes trained on the back of his mate as she got up from the couch, and out the back door. A swift look to his 'twin', she nodded and followed her out the kitchen. Sadness emanated from the girl, and it was everything in his power not to wrap her up and take her from that room, but it was as he spoke earlier…better to air out everything now.

His dark eyes then trained on Masen, he stared back unapologetic, unremorseful, and unrepentant - it didn't matter what you called it. He didn't care. He didn't care as to what happened to Lettie, or what will happen to her. So long as his human - Isabella - was safe.

"I ought to kill you right now limb from limb," Major said darkly.

Bella the frightened little lamb that she was looked terrified at the prospect. She looked at Carlisle pleadingly.

"And imagine that would do to Isabella…and in turn Scarlett…" Edward mused.

Major scowled. The mind reader was right – as much as he hated to admit it. Lettie still had a slight sentimental attachment to her twin. She knew her sister was self-centered and toxic but there was still the familial bond that held her. Still he demanded retribution.

"Carlisle," he said slowly.

Carlisle sighed, he knew what he wanted, heck the entire coven probably did, but as coven leader it was his decision to let it pass.

"I'll allow it, on a condition." Carlisle agreed.

Edward's jaw dropped open slowly.

"You can't be considering being so archaic?" He asked.

Carlisle eyes hardened at the bronze haired Cullen.

"It is well within his right – you've caused a lot of trouble."

"You mean she has caused a lot of trouble."

Major growled threateningly. He was about ready to start there and now, house be damned.

"Out!" Esme said sharply - feeling the tensions rise in the air.

Bella blinked and Edward and Jasper were gone – as were Carlisle, Alice and Emmett.

"Where'd they go?" Bella asked anxiously.

"To settle their differences," Esme replied.

"Will Edward get hurt?!" She demanded.

Esme didn't respond, it all depended…mainly – how gracious Major was feeling.

The patriarch and his sons found himself at the same range where the whole incident started the Olympic ranges – the very field where they all shared so many baseball games together. Today it would serve another purpose. Emmett and Carlisle stood width-wise on either side of the field, while Edward and Jasper stood on opposite ends lengthwise.

"My condition – don't kill or permanently harm him," Carlisle said folding his arms over his chest.

Major scowled, but supposed it would have to do. Both men crouched into position.

Masen emitted confidence, overly so. Major mused. He was overconfident in his speed. It would cost him. The battle began, nothing seen but blurs in the wind. Neither one really allowing the other to land a hit.

Emmett frowned, he was angry, when he found out what Edward did that day at the airport he was pissed – however no one was AS pissed as Major. If they weren't in a public place and risked exposing what they were, Masen likely would have ceased to exist that day.

Rose had become surprisingly attached to the human, surprising as she despised her twin. Rose knew what Lettie had been through, to hear it happened twice – was upsetting. Especially since Edward could have prevented it entirely had the information be presented properly. Instead, Edward chose to withhold it, in favor of having Bella found and rescued first. While normally Emmett frowned on this sort of archaic method of battling it out – it was much more in favor for Major.

Which begged the question…what was he doing? He was lithely dodging Edward's attacks and letting him land a few hits. But he wasn't really going for it either. Even from his vantage point he could see Edward getting overconfident - that's when it all made sense.

Major was teaching Edward a lesson, a hard one, but hopefully one that would stick. Emmett grimaced, this wouldn't be pretty.

Edward was quite confident in his ability to fend off Jasper. But what concerned him was his mind. It was blank, carefully controlled blank…it unsettled him. At least he'd be at least able to feel or read his blood-lust, but not even that came though. Just emptiness. Suddenly Jasper was gone from his spot and Edward was flung into the ground hard! He hadn't seen Jasper move. His mind was then flooded with memories, blood, screaming, pain, then Edward realized what he was looking at.

This wasn't Jasper at all…he was looking at Major. He had heard Carlisle talk about him as though he was a different person. Although now - taking a look in his mind – they were almost separate people. Edward was horrified at the visions running through his mind. The things he saw – the Blood Wars. This man was like a different being than what he was familiar with. Jasper had Edward pinned face first in the ground, his entire body vibrating with anger. A quick twist and yank and Edward's arm was rendered from his body and tossed away, Edward refused to cry out and give him the satisfaction this vampire so craved.

Major chuckled – he had to give it to the boy – he was stubborn as a mule. Then again so were they – the men – human and vampire alike that Maria had made him…alter their mindset. Nowadays Major didn't come out to play as much. He didn't need to. Jasper wasn't in immediate danger, definitely not since joining Carlisle and his coven. But when Jasper met Lettie – that changed things. Major was enamored by her, just as much as Jasper was. Major detested that was touched- harmed in her past, and it took Rose and Emmett to convince him not to track down those three boys and end their lives. Would have done more harm than good, she seemed to enjoy when Major came out to play. They both relished in the sounds she made, the way she felt, the way she tasted…

She was his. And he was hers. Two sides to the coin, she accepted him – all of him, Major included. And while he knew his family did too – there were part of them that feared Major, and rightfully so. Major unleashed full time would not bode well for anyone. Even now as Major watched the boy writhe in pain Major did feel satisfaction, if he was honest – pleasure.

"You're a monster," Edward gritted out.

Major pressed a little deeper on his back holding him there, his face cold, dark.

"Maybe, I'm more of a man than you are. Threatened by a lil' girl Masen?" he asked darkly.

Edward growled harshly pushing at the ground trying to stand up. Footsteps alerted Emmett walking close – only to toss Major the arm he had just snapped off. Edward began writhing in pain, as his appendage got closer.

"Hurts don't it? You ain't never been hurt in this life have ya? The actual dismemberment doesn't actually cause pain - it's keeping the pieces apart that hurts. The closer they get but don't reattach – well I'm sure you get the picture. It drives a person insane kept apart too long." Major said nonchalantly.

Edwards's eyes widened, and as Major brought the arm just above his body - his body writhed in pain – the best thing it could be compared to was the pain he remembered from when he was changed, and he thought nothing could be more torturous than that. He was wrong.

"I'm givin' you this one warnin', boy. Just the one, and be fuckin' thankful you're gettin' one – out in the real world you wouldn't be getting' shit. You ever – I do mean EVER – do harm to Lettie again – this will look mild compared to what I do to you." Major hissed.

Shoving off of Edward, he sunk his teeth into his arm – venom generously pumped into the mark and reattaching the arm before disappearing into thin air. Edward cried out this time, venom on human turned them – venom injected into another vampire was extremely painful – especially in large quantities. For mates it could be pleasurable – but enemies or even arguments where venom was involved was no laughing matter.

Edward was lucky, it could have been so much worse – Emmett grimaced as he watched his coven member writhe on the ground clutching his arm. Painful reminder of the pecking order, he mused.

He felt no remorse as he headed back to the house, leaving Carlisle to deal with his wayward son. Emmett was confident though, he wouldn't do anything for him – the pain was a reminder and a warning.

Don't mess with Major.
