Chapter 38: Infiltration/Broken Limits
Deku's P.O.V
After much discussion, we finally had a game plan as to how we would take back the tower's control. We were told it was on the 200th floor. It was gonna be a long road ahead, but I was prepared for it. By the time we got to the 80th floor, we noticed the rest of the floors were blocked off. "Shit!" I said. Todoroki turned to Uraraka. "Can't one of you bust them down?" He asked. "If we did that the guards would notice we were in here," Melissa said. Starla chuckled and held out a key. "Not with these bad boys they won't," she said.
She opened a door and we all went in. Someone was watching us. "You think you can get away from us that easily?" He asked. He pressed a button. As we were running I saw some doors beginning to close. "Oh no!" Mineta said. Todoroki stepped forward and froze the door before it could close. "Ochako!" I said. "On it," she exclaimed as she jumped. She channeled OFA into her hands and punched the door hard. "Quick!" Melissa said, "In here!"
We snuck in and hid behind some plants. "Maybe we can use the elevator to make our way up once the guards disappear," Kaminari suggested. "Unfortunately that's not an option," Melissa said, "Only authorized people have the rights, and this place is built like a bomb shelter." One guard was looking around. "I see you kid!" He shouted. We were thinking he was talking about us. I looked up and it was the same guy I fought back in the jewelry store. He teamed up with Discharge. I saw someone else walking towards them, and it was Han. "Sorry, I was just looking for the party and found myself getting lost," he said.
From what I could tell, he was creating a diversion so we could run. "Don't lie to me or you'll regret it," Discharge said. He was about to punch Han. "Han!" I said. Todoroki made an ice barrier. The rest of us came out. Bakugo jumped out of the bushes. "Half-and-half can take care of these punks," he said, "The rest of you go ahead!" Todoroki made an ice platform for us to get to the top. "I'll be back after I deal with this mess," he said. Discharge got back up and faced the three of them. "Well if its a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get!"
He lunged at them with his gauntlets charged to the max. Todoroki made an ice barrier, but it was futile as Discharge punched right through it. This gave Bakugo the advantage. He jumped behind Discharge and shot an explosion pushing him back with his right palm. Diamondhead was dealing with Han. Han threw a barrage of punches that were countered by Diamondhead's shields. "Well you sure know how to fight," Diamondhead commented them, "Where did you go to school at." "Like hell, we'd tell you," Bakugo said.
I punched another door down. There was another wall keeping us from going up. "Damn it," Kaminari said, "These guys don't like to let us take the easy way." I looked up to a vent. "I think I got an idea," I said turning to Mineta. "Huh?" "That vent could lead to a room that could open the doors," Melissa said, "Someone with your stature could easily get in!" "Are you guys crazy!?" He asked.
"Come on Mineta you're the only one who can do it," Momo said. "Plus if you save everyone just imagine the fan service you'll get," Kaminari said. "And there's a possibility of…. A harem!" That magic word set Mineta off. "Ok, I'll do it!" He started climbing up to the maintenance room. Once he was there he pushed the ladder down allowing us to get up top. "Nice work Mineta," Melissa said, "Someone like you would make a great hero." Mineta blushed.
Bakugo, Todoroki, and Han were dealing with Discharge and Diamondhead. Diamondhead grabbed Han by the arms as soon as he threw another punch. "How about we go for a spin!" He spun him around a few times, then he threw him at Todoroki and Bakugo. Discharge grinned. "Time to take out the….." He was interrupted by a kick to the back. The others looked to see Sanjay. "Why don't you pick on somebody your own size," he said. He grabbed Discharge by the legs and threw him at some ropes. As soon as he came back, he did a lariat knocking him out. Bakugo smirked. "Time to stop messing around and fight!" He said. He charged at Diamondhead. He was doing one of his signature moves, "Howitzer impact" and forced Diamondhead back. Despite having his shield, it wasn't strong enough. Sanjay went to help out Han. "Alright," Bakugo said, "Now let's go help Midoriya and the others." As soon as they started walking forward, some security robots arrived.
The rest of us were making our way to the top. "We haven't seen any more guards," Iida said. "It could be possible they're leading us somewhere," Momo commented. I looked back. "Well even if that is the case we can't stop now, we're close." I saw a room that was guarded by defense drones. "Looks like they know we're hero course students," I said. Starla transformed into her hero costume. "If that's true then we shouldn't hold back anymore." The hero costume then went onto her cloaked mannequin and it busted the doors down. It started shooting laser blasts giving us time to run. More robots surrounded us. Kaminari stepped forward. "Time to be a badass," he said. He jumped in the middle of them and used his lightning quirk. It had no effect on the drones. "Time to kick it up a notch!" He went for a higher number of volts. "Denki no!" Jirou said, "IF you do that you'll….."
It was too late. He became dumb. "Well at least he stopped the robots," I said. I was wrong. They kept coming at us. "Alright then, try this!" Ochako said. She slammed her fist to the ground making the drones float. She had the gauntlet on her to keep from getting pain. I channeled aura into my hands and fired multiple aura spheres. "Gattling Green Rush!" I also had the Aura gauntlet on me to keep from losing too much stamina. Momo then threw some jamming devices at the drones. Jirou rushed to get Kaminari out of danger.
The robots were forced out of the way as we kept running. "You're certainly getting used to OFA," I said. "Well I'm only using a small percentage of the quirk, but with this gauntlet, I can go all out without feeling pain," she explained to me, "I guess this glove has a cooling system or something!" The Aura Phantom was looking around for any trouble. HE didn't know that we had a student with a quirk that could spy on people.
Jiro noticed there were more troops and soldiers in the room we were looking at. "You guys go on ahead," Iida said, "We'll handle the rest of them from here Class president." He looked at me smiling. "Thanks, Iida," I said, "Melissa, Ochako, Kirishima, come on!" "Right boss!" Kirishima said. We kept running. Iida used his quirk to kick the robots away. Mineta was throwing balls to keep them surrounded. The drones were getting stronger. One of them got to Jirou and kept her restrained. "Get off me!" She said. One of the guards had his gun pointed at her. The others stopped what they were doing when they saw Jiro was in trouble. "Now that's more like it," the guard said smirking. Kaminari came to his senses and saw that his girlfriend was in trouble. "Hey!" He said. He sped right past the guard like lightning trying to scare him. He came around again and had the guard pinned. He then proceeded to punch him multiple times.
"Don't. Touch. My. Girlfriend!" He said. The guard caught Kaminari's hand and punched him hard. He was about to fire at Kaminari until he was caught by Starla. "I'm giving you the chance to surrender," she said, "And if I were in your position I would take it." She trapped him in an illusion. He was surrounded by spiders, and a web. "Call off your drones," she said. He did as instructed. The rest of us made it to a wind-powered generator. Kirishima saw this as an opportunity to try out his new technique. "Melissa, get on my back and I can climb up there. Ochako and I levitated up to the top. Once I made it to the top I punched the wall to make an opening for us. I sensed someone with a sword was coming and jumped. I shot an aura sphere from above knocking him out cold. More guards showed up. Ochako used her quirk to punch them and send them flying. We then continued to the main control room. We saw Melissa's dad taking the device back. "Its time I put an end to this," he said, "If this machine will cause nothing but trouble then there's only one solution; Destroy it." Melissa smiled. "Papa," she said. We approached him. "Melissa?" He asked. "Papa, you're doing the right thing," she said, "Destroying that device even though it can save All Might's quirk." He looked at us. "I'm atoning for the crime I've committed," he said, "What good is this device if it would be in the hands of a villain?" "OH it could be used for so much for a villain," said someone.
Aura Phantom approached us. He had 6 of the rings on him. "The device can easily amplify my quirk of shadow manipulation," he said, "Combined with the 7 aura chakras, I can build an army of criminals and become the next All For One!" "Aura Chakras?" I asked.
He showed us the rings. "Red: Physical body nature, Orange: Emotion, Yellow: Willpower, Blue: Intelligence, Indigo: Mental Communication, and Violet: Awareness of illusion," he said as he held a green ring, "And Green: Healing. With these rings, I can give my shadow a living body that I can control." David was shocked. "It truly was an act, just so I could play along and take what I have been searching for all these years," he said, "You honestly thought the Aura Arts were a rare quirk? While yours is rare, it holds the basic aura abilities that others have, and there were many others who have used them before you."
He remembered doing research on the aura stones. "Some of them gave their aura essence to 7 stones each holding their perspective chakras. I saw this as an opportunity to do research and discover the possibilities of harnessing the power," Aura Phantom said, "The scientists saw me mad and demanded the research be terminated, and I was furious. So I decided, if I can't do the research with I-Island's scientists, then I'd do it on my own. Sam?" "OF course," Sam said taking the device to him. "Sam?" David asked.
"I've been your assistant for years and you just allowed them to take out work," said Sam, "We could've had it all. I deserve to be rewarded for all we've done." "That you do," Aura Phantom said. He had a shadow in the form of a spear. He was about to kill Sam. David jumped in the way and took the hit. Fortunately, it wasn't fatal. "Papa!" Melissa said. Ochako kept her back. "Stay back, he might hurt you too!" She said. Aura Phantom turned to them. "I'm not one for hurting little girls, especially the daughter of David Shield," he said, "You should be lucky though."
He took the green ring. "As you all get to be witnesses to a powerful transformation!" He placed the ring on his left hand. His body was beginning to glow with energy. His shadow begun to change. It turned into a form of a being with armor around him. "Such power," he said, "And with this device, I'm a brand new man." "A brand new man who's in for a pounding!" Kirishima said. He lunged at Aura Phantom and was stopped in his tracks. His spirit started pummeling him with a barrage of punches. Its last one sent him flying. "Kirishima!" I said rushing towards him. Melissa saw this as an opportunity to run to the control room. "Stop her from getting down there!" He ordered one of his troops.
Ochako jumped forward and punched him hard. "Don't you touch her!" She shouted. She felt a small bit of pain on her arm. "You'll pay for that one," Aura Phantom said. I jumped in front of him and shot an Aura Sphere at him. It was deflected by his spirit.
"That guy is tougher than he looks," I said. "But we have to keep going, for All Might and our friends," Ochako said, "Let's hold him off while Melissa gets to the system. I nodded. She was about to go and fight again. "Wait!" I said, "Ochako, at least let me do this. I ripped my shirt open and ripped it into pieces.
I wrapped one half on her arm where she was bleeding. "Thanks," she said. I lunged at Aura Phantom channeling aura into my hands and punched him hard. Ochako then continued with a punch to the face using OFA. Although she used a small percentage, her attacks still packed a wallop.
Melissa made it to the top. "Hold on everyone, I will save you!" She said. She deactivated the security protocols and shut down all the drones. The pro heroes were freed from the restraints, and All Might went into action. Aizawa assisted the others and that gave All Might time to run. David was being carried into the helicopter while I was fighting Aura Phantom. "You still trying to get the professor back so he can pay for his crime?" he asked. "No, I'm just saving him from people like you!" I said, "This is what heroes do!" "They save people in trouble!" Ochako said.
"How do you intend to do that, when you're facing a true god!" He pushed Ochako to the side and then his spirit lunged at me. He caught me in his punch barrage again. He then pushed me to the side. I took a bad beating from Aura Phantom, and my costume was nearly destroyed.
No matter what I did, he could do it better, because of those damn rings."I admire your courage boy," he said to me as he bent down to my level, "But you should understand that everyone has a limit, including you." I struggled to get up after that hard blow.
"But once I'm done, I will be the only one who uses Aura. As for your friends….. I hope they remember you, and how you failed them."
He prepared for a final blow. I closed my eyes and prepared for the worst. "Hold it right there!" Shouted someone. They jumped in front of Aura Phantom and blocked his attack using their hand. I opened my eyes to see… Yagi! "Have no fear Midoriya, for I am here to help!" I was shocked because he wasn't in his muscle form. He was still a bit skinny, but it looked like there was a small bit of meat in his muscles.
He punched him hard, sending him flying at a tree. "But…. how?" "I'm not sure either," Yagi told me, "I may not be able to use my muscle form for long, but at least I can still pack a punch." He saw the helicopter attempting to flee and then jumped. "You will return my friend to me at once!" He said. Ochako used her quirk to freeze the helicopter while Yagi rushed in. "Yagi!" David said. "I am here David," he said as he grinned. He started roughing up the guys with guns. His plus ultras weren't as strong as in his muscle form, but he still held his own.
Ochako rushed to help me up. "You ok Deku?" She asked me. I smiled and answered, "Best I've felt all day." I began to channel aura into my legs going into Shoot Style and fought off Aura Phantom. Even though I was badly injured I still wanted to help. I lunged at him and channeled aura into my legs to perform a new move. I did a flying kick at him sending him flying into the helicopter. "Columbus SMASH!"
I then rushed to David's side. He was still alive. "Melissa….." He said weakly. Melissa was relieved he was still alive. "Everything's gonna be ok," Yagi said. I sensed something was coming straight for All Might. "Watch out!" I said.
I took the slow and got a cut on my arm and yelped in pain. The attack then went for Ochako forcing her back. I rushed to her aid. While I wasn't looking, the injury healed itself. "Well, it seems you still got fight in you," Aura Phantom said. He had the device on his head and it was amplifying his quirk. I helped Ochako up. She used the gauntlet to shield herself from the blow. I threw another aura sphere at Aura Phantom before he could get close to David and Melissa. "Just who the hell do you think you are?" He asked smiling. I stared at the villain, the blood trickling down my face. "I am Izuku Midoriya, and I made a promise to succeed all might as the symbol of peace!" I said. I stood back up. "You still haven't learned have you?" He asked, "You may want to be a hero, but even you have your limits!" "I may have a limit with my aura... but limits... are made... to be broken!"
My hair started to glow. A large glowing light surrounded me and aura was coursing through my body. I felt stronger than before. I managed to throw a fully charged aura sphere without needing to charge and it was stronger than earlier. "A hidden ability…. This CAN'T BE!" Aura Phantom shouted. All might and Ochako were amazed. "I've awakened my newest potential," I said, "Aura Cowl X10!"
Izuku's newest potential has been reached, and the Final Battle is Upon us! Will Izuku have the strength to take on the Aura Phantom? Can he save David from his demise?!
