Chapter 26
Outside Lucas's Hospital Room
Brooke felt her heart sink. As tears welled up in her eyes.
Lucas is alive. He would recover and in time she would repair her relationship with the man she was in love and the girl she loved like a daughter. Patience would have to happen and she knew without a doubt in her mind that they were worth the wait.

At the sight of her father beaten and bruised she rushed into his arms.
"Daddy. I'm so glad you're okay. I love you so much. When can you go home." Aurora asked. Focusing her gaze on him.
"Once i'm healed enough to take care of myself. The thing is. I have to go through a series of tests in terms of my reflexes. To be more specific. My legs." Lucas said.
"What are trying to say.?" Aurora asked.
"When i woke up and was able to know where i am and speak. I realized that i couldn't feel my legs. So the doctor is going to figure out what's on with me and then once i know for sure I'll talk to you." Lucas said.
"You're alive. Strong. And healthy. You got my through the worst most dark period of my life. So whatever happens next. I'll be there." Aurora said.
"Thank you. I love you too. The doctor will be coming in soon. So you can go back into the waiting room. I'll send a nurse to find you once i have the results of the testing." Lucas said.
"Okay i'll go. After this is all over. No more hospitals for either of us. And we need a family trip somewhere far." Aurora said.
"Deal you start planning. Look into places we could go. And you fill me in about it later." Lucas said.
Aurora placed a kiss on his forehead before she left the hospital room.

When Brooke saw Aurora exiting the room she focused her gaze.
"How did the visit go.?" "I'm sure the amount of happiness and relief you both feel can't be put into words." Brooke asked.
Aurora narrowed her gaze. "Honestly it isn't you're concern. You know he's alive. What more do you need. Just go home. And leave us alone. Forget we exist. Move on. You're free now." She said. Turning from Brooke as she walked in the direction of the hospital room.
"Ro." Brooke said. Her voice breaking with emotion as she looked up towards Lucas's hospital room door.
She took a deep breath and walked towards the exit doors.
