Chapter 39: The Legacy of All Might! Deku's Finest Hour!
Deku's P.O.V
I was face to face with Aura Phantom, now powered up to the max. "New power or not, I'm still stronger than all of you!" Aura Phantom said. His shadow spirit came at me, but it stopped just when it was about to attack. I pushed it back. I then lunged at Aura Phantom and hit him with a fully-fledged Aura Smash forcing him away.
"Where's that scary hidden power you had?" I asked smirking, "It looks like you've lost your touch." "I'll show you who's lost their touch!" He lunged at me again. With a simple 3 hit combo, I pushed him back. I then shot an aura sphere at him that was fully charged.
Ochako was looking at me. "Whoa, it's like he's barely even breaking a sweat. "Enough games," he said. He grabbed me by the neck and slammed me down to the ground. He was about to use his shadow to attack me but Ochako intervened. "Keep your shadowy scales off my boyfriend!" She said, "Tokyo SMASH!" She punched him hard using her left hand since it had the gauntlet. The two of us kept pummeling at him with everything we had. I switched to shoot style and kicked him far while Ochako made something weightless and threw it at him. With OFA enhancing it, she was stronger than before. "Enough…. enough…" he said. I shot one more aura sphere at him. "I said ENOUGH!" He shouted forcing us back. He then grabbed the device and put it on his head. A giant shadow being was being formed, and he was in the middle of it controlling its every move. It was huge. "I know all about your weakness All Might. You don't have the same power you once did," he said.
"I may not have muscle form anymore, but I can still fight!" Yagi said. He lunged at Aura Phantom but was pushed back easily. I rushed to his aid. "I'm fine," he said. "Is that all you got?" Aura Phantom asked, "Let me show you what I'm truly made of!" His aura turned red like fire. "Looks like this device lives up to your reputation David," Aura Phantom said, "I can feel my quirk getting stronger!"
He aimed it towards Yagi. Acting quickly I jumped in front of him forming a shield. Someone else was forming one.
It was Starla. "Starla!" I said. "Didn't think I'd leave you hanging did I?" "On 3, you move right, I move left!" I said. "Roger!" We moved as soon as the shield was down. Someone else froze the limbs of the shadow creature. It was Todoroki. The others made it out alive! "Midoriya, you ready to fight?!" Bakugo asked. Ochako helped Melissa up. "We'll do what we can to help you Midoriya," Todoroki said, "You go in for the kill!" Ochako had OFA channeled up in her body. Yagi was happy to know we were safe. "With my students so motivated, there's no way I can give up now," he said. He pushed one of the limbs back with ease and Todoroki froze it. Yagi then went to me. "Izuku," he said. "Right," I said channeling up Aura. He spun me around a few times and threw me up. I shot dozens of fast-paced aura spheres at the limbs blasting them to smithereens. Some shadows kept me from moving any further.
"Nice tricks Midoriya," Aura Phantom said, "But you've yet to use your strongest weapon. Your mind." He kept me pinned while he started to attack my friends. They were in danger and I couldn't help them. "And now its time to end this little charade, once and for all. He summoned big blocks around me. "DIE!" They all went towards me crushing my bones and body. Or… so he thought.
"DEKU!" Ochako screamed. Aura Phantom cackled. "And so ends the days of All Might's future successor!" "Yeah, about that.." I said. He looked up and saw me. The Deku he thought he killed was a clone. I jumped down and punched him harder. While landing I did some kicks pushing gusts of strong wind at him to distract him while my friends escaped. I landed on my feet in front of Uraraka and reached out my hand to her. She gladly took it. "I forgot you could make duplicates," she said smiling. Yagi approached me. "That was very reckless of you, Midoriya," he said. I chuckled. "I know, but that's what heroes do, no matter what, right?" I asked. He smiled and nodded. "You can do it Ochako!" Said a voice. She looked up to see her parents smiling at her. "If anyone has what it takes to beat this villain, you do!" Her father said. "You've come so far, don't give up now!" Said her mother. I looked up to see my "Father". "You always talk about how you dream to be a hero," he said, "This is your moment. This is your time!" Yagi looked to see his mentor, Nana Shimura. "You have become a great hero Yagi," he said, "For the good of mankind, you must not give up." Yagi smiled knowing she was right.
"Can I count on the aid of my future son, and daughter in law for one more time?" He asked. The both of us nodded and looked to Aura Phantom.
"There's no way you can beat me, you're just little worms," he said, "And you don't know when to lay down and die!" He fired more dark spheres at us. I shot a fully charged Westerville blast using only one hand. It pushed the dark spheres away. Bakugo helped me out by blasting them away. "IF anyone doesn't know when they're beaten, it's you!" More limbs came at us. Todoroki froze them in place. Ochako jumped up and did a hard punch shattering the limbs into pieces. The limbs kept coming at the three of us, but we refused to back down.
We were determined to see it through! I started running faster than usual. One shadow limb was about to attack Ochako. I acted quickly and did a Columbus Smash knocking it back. I then regrouped with the two of them. "I won't let you win!" Aura Phantom shouted. He summoned a big obstacle to push us away. The three of us jumped up and channeled energy into our fists. "To overcome what's in front of you…." All Might said. "By giving everything you've got…" Ochako finished. "That's what it takes to be a true hero!" I said. "I'll crush this entire tower!" Aura Phantom shouted pushing the Dark shadow sphere at us. The three of us had energy channeled in our fists and were prepared to give it our all.
"Triple Detroit…. SMAAAAAAAAAAAS!" We punched the sphere hard. Aura Phantom kept trying to force it back. "You will all perish and suffer!" Aura Phantom said. We gave it our all and tried to force it back at him. Someone shot an aura sphere at Aura Phantom. It was Melissa using one of the gauntlets from the criminals. "NOW!" I said. We forced it back hard and it went flying at Aura Phantom. "Let's go!" I said. "Plus!" Ochako said. "Ultra!" All Might finished.
We flew at Aura Phantom who tried to cover himself with a shield. It was futile as we punched him hard. When the attack landed, there was a tremendous explosion. The giant being was starting to vanish and everyone saw. "They did it…" Iida said. Mineta jumped up and down. "Yeah, they beat the bad guy!" I got up and saw that Aura Phantom was down for the count, too weak to get up again. I went to Yagi to make sure he was ok and he was safe. Ochako rushed to my side. "IZUKU!" She said as she jumped on me. Aizawa looked at us.
"That kid has some scary potential," he said. Yagi looked at David. "I came to save you, my friend," he said. David smiled. "I heard most of what had happened," Yagi said.
David looked ashamed at what he did. "It's true," he said, "I was consumed with fear that everything you did would die when you did. That device I did was nothing more than a way to maintain that light until…." He looked at me. "I realized the symbol of peace will leave on in somebody else." Yagi smiled. "He has a lot of potential, more than the heroes I've seen in the past," Yagi said, "When he takes my place, he'll shine a brighter light than I could ever muster."
Melissa turned to me and Ochako. "How can I ever thank you?" She asked. "I think it's me who should be thanking you," Ochako said, "But oh man… I think I broke your gauntlet with that last punch." "Plus I ruined the aura armor," I said scratching my back. "It's ok," Melissa said, "Actually I know of some ways to improve them. If I can talk with Mei Hatsume, I think I might get some new ideas down!" Ochako and I looked up to the sky to see her parents and my dad smiling at us. We were holding hands and waving at them. "Come here," she said. She pulled me in for a kiss. The others were cheering at us. "Woo, get it Ochako!" Jirou said. Todoroki smiled at each other while the hands intertwined with each other.
The next day we were meeting some visitors from U.A who came to the party. Eri rushed to us. "Papa, Mama!" She said as she ran towards me. I scooped her up into a hug. "Were you a good girl sweetie?" Ochako asked. She nodded.
"Auntie Midnight and I watched movies and played fun games while you were gone," she said, "Then we saw the news and saw how cool you were." She pulled out her doll and imitated my punches. "Smash!" She said making us chuckle, "And then we brought this new dress for the party!" She twirled around in her new ruby dress. "You look so beautiful sweetie," Ochako said as she kissed her nose. "Oh, and Grandma gave you a message saying that she loves you, Papa," Eri said. "Well I'll tell her I love her too," I said smiling.
A woman who had some resemblance to Momo stepped forward. "Mother!" Momo said walking to her, "I didn't know you were coming!" Momo's mother hugged her. "I'm never to busy to visit my favorite daughter," she said before looking at Todoroki, "And this must be Shoto. It's an honor to meet you, young man." Shoto shook her hand. "Pleasure is all mine." "There's somebody else who wants to meet you too," Ms. Yaoyorozu said. She turned to Mr. Yaoyorozu who walked forward. Momo was scared.
"D-dad?" She asked. "Now now, there's no need for alarm, I come in peace," he said. He turned to the rest of us. "I owe you all an apology for attempting to buy the island and shut down U.A High School," he said, "I was just so determined to bring the family company back from the ground, and I realized I was consumed by anger." He turned to Han. "I apologize to you as well for trying to place you in a difficult situation in this arranged marriage," he said. Han gave him a thumbs up. "No worries," he said.
He then turned to Momo. "More importantly I apologize to you Momo," he said, "I should never have tried to force you into marrying someone else. I thought I would find a good husband for you, but I realized that you've found someone you truly care about." His voice started to break a bit. "If you choose to stay angry at me then I understand." Momo approached her father. She then gave her a hug. "I forgive you, father," she said, "I just needed you to understand that I had no interest in being part of the family business. I wanna use my quirk to help other people around the world rather than just for myself." Mr. Yaoyorozu looked at her. "I never cared about having you work in the company," he said, "My true desire was to see how grown-up you've become." Momo was confused.
"I witnessed you speak your mind and stand up for yourself which was something I could never get you to do," Mr. Yaoyorozu said, "But somehow, your friends did. And you gave me a nice sock in the jaw there too." He turned to Todoroki. "I look forward to meeting you in the future Shouto," Mr. Yaoyorozu said, "You seem like a very good man for my daughter." Todoroki smiled. Later Mr. Yaoyorozu left on his private boat. We were heading to the party. All Might gave a speech on how he was retiring and someone was planning to be his successor (me). We were also given medals for our work in saving I-Island. If that wasn't enough, they created a statue based on me.
The party was amazing. There were even apples for Eri to which she enjoyed. I could tell everyone was having a good time, thanks to our hard work. Later they were playing a slow song. Ms. Joke approached Aizawa. "So Shouta….." She said, "Looks like they've slowed down the tempo for us huh." "Wanna dance?" Aizawa asked. She nodded and he took her hand. "Just follow my lead and you'll be fine," she told him. I looked to Kacchan who took Starla by the arms. Momo was dancing with Todoroki and signaled me to the same with Ochako.
Eri decided to take action and push us towards each other. I looked into Ochako's chocolate eyes. I held out my hand for her to which she took gladly. We started to slow dance with each other. "You really do look beautiful Ochako," I said. "You don't have to flatter me so much," she replied smiling. She held me close to her and I did the same. The others were watching. Iida gave me a thumbs up. Eri was sharing a dance with Yagi. We kept dancing but then we stopped for a moment.
We smiled and blushed. "I love you Ochako," I said. She smiled and got close to me. "I love you too…. Izuku." The two of us shared a kiss and people looked and cheered for us. It was a pretty amazing time. I unlocked my new semi quirk, my girlfriend has All Might's quirk, and I'm being acknowledged as a true pro hero. I couldn't wait for what the rest of the year had for me. But whatever it was, we would get through it. Together.
And so ends The Secret of The Aura Arts act. Izuku and friends have gone through good times and bad times throughout this arc, but they pulled through together. But their story as heroes is far from over. What great evils await them in the future? Tune in and find out.
