"So this is how it feels to be on top of the world?"
"Jack this is what power buys you. You can get your private seat at the big table."
"Rose thank you for inviting me to Shore City. I appreciate everything you have done for me. Including getting me out from the correction center."
"Jack it was the lease I could do. I have been your biggest fan for years. I do admire someone that loves their work."
"Rose speaking about my work, I'm anxious to get my hands on Iron Man."
"Ah yes, Tony Stark does that the nasty habit of always being in your life at the wrong time."
"Last time he tricks me and made me look like a fool. He waited until I was away from my armor to trap me. He knew that my armor is superior to his. All while I was in the correction center I had to endure each day of being called stupid and a second rate Iron Man. I want my revenge."
"Jack revenge is a strong motivator. But I have something in mind that you might like."
"I knew you wanted something and I always pay my debts, but Iron Man comes first."
"Now Jack you have been away for such a long time, I say what you need is a warm-up match with someone. That way you can build your credit back up. Don't you want your street cred back?"
"You do make a good point. My reputation has taken a big hit because of Stark."
"Yes and what better way than getting it back than by defeating one of the so call heroes."
"So you want me to take out one of Stark Avenger friends? I can do that, but I have to get my armor back first."
"Jack do not worry about your armor you will find it downstairs in one of my sub levels. Plus I think you will appreciate some of the modifications I had my tech boys do. As far as the person I want you to take out. He has been a thorn in my side for far too long. His name is Magni."
Walking downtown in disguise was Stan and Magni. Stan had not told him about his second thoughts and wanted to move out. He was waiting for the right time to do that. He had promise Magni to help him get back home, but he was thinking with each passing day that was a promise that he couldn't keep.
"Friend Stan today is a glorious day. The sun is shining high and the city has almost recovered from the Lava Man ramage. My date with Rebecca went well and I already ask her out again. I don't know where to take her but I'm sure she will have some ideas. Stan, maybe you should come with us next time."
"Whoa, buddy. I can't be a fifth wheel, no you two have a good time. Besides, I have some thinking to do. I have to find a way to track down more information about New Asgard for you. I haven't don't much in the way lately even though I promise that I would help you."
"Friend Stan I don't fault you. There has been one thing after the other in our lives. I know you are doing the best that you can. Besides, I had an idea the other night, but I just don't know if it would work."
"What do you mean?"
"Well if New Asgard does not exist here, but Asgard the golden Realm where my father grew up does, maybe I should use my ax and go there. There might be someone there that could help me."
"Magni that sounds like an idea that might work. I wonder if they would believe you? If you could convince them who you are they would have a magician there that could help you way better than I can."
"Friend Stan I wouldn't go to this Asgard without you. I need you there to help me convince them of who I am."
"I'm just some mortal, how could I possibly convince God's of anything. Besides if I went to Asgard with you I would probably just get myself hurt again."
"No, you would not get hurt. You have heart my friend, and with your heart, I know you could convince the elders of Asgard of who I am and to help me."
As the two friends are talking they walk right past a Starbucks where Detective Harris was drinking his mocha ice coffee. He was still upset about being taken away from Strikeforce. He knew that it was just politics but that didn't make him feel any better about it. He had the new case he was working on, a missing person case. A businessman went missing just before the Lava Man attack and no one has been able to find him. His last location was the boardwalk by the beach, his name was Trevor Scott.
Viper research scientist had been promising her some new formula that was an improvement upon what they used on the Lavaman. Plus it would enhance a normal human and make them loyal to Viper. She was looking forward to the latest test subject, according to his physical readouts he was in perfect health with no deformities. If things work right he would be the first in her new line of personal bodyguards. When she walks down the detention cell block and unmask their detainee he looks up at her face for the first time.
"Mr. Trevor Scott I'm glad to make your acquaintance. I think you and I are going to get along just fine."
