I know this is a rizzles and korsangela story, I don't throw Frost in many chapters but I felt like he should be included some more. Since I'm writing this the anniversary of Lee Thompson Young's death. I want to celebrate his life so I figured I could throw some Frost in here. Rest easy buddy you are still very missed... I hope he wouldn't mind me writing about him. I love writing my cute boy Frost.
Jane and Maura had gotten their hot chocolates and sat down on the bench where they put their skates on. They were just observing the others and Jane was jealous of how well some of these people could look so graceful when they skated. Maura noticed the look on Jane's face and smiled.
"We all can't be good at skating there Jane," Maura was quite amused. Jane just sipped on her hot chocolate and rolled her eyes.
"I didn't even say anything. I know we all have special skills, like you can say and do smart things, Ma can cook like the best shit ever, Korsak can sit on his ass at work while watching endless YouTube videos, and well me I'm just a badass," she grinned and now it was Maura's turn to roll her eyes.
"I think your skill is being able to use the most profound words in one statement. And you often have some pretty long run on sentences."
"I do have a knack for saying curse words, especially when compared to you. How you don't curse much is beyond me," Jane smirked, "Even when we have sex I can see you hesitate to curse, well at first anyways."
"Is that why you have sex with me so much, because of my profound verbal capabilities?"
Jane laughed, "I have sex with you so much because I got addicted to it. Having you curse is just a bonus and a motivator to keep on going. It helps that I'm absolutely in love with you too."
Maura nodded with a slight blush on her cheeks, "The love part totally helps," she sipped at her hot chocolate eyeing her fiancee. "You know I'm tempted to cancel our dinner plans for tonight and just go back to our hotel room. Maybe get some room service from Chad."
Jane sat up straighter and smirked, "Oh I'm definitely down for going to our hotel room, but I was wondering what amazing place for dinner we were going to go to. We could always just go back to our hotel room for some dessert."
Maura bit her bottom lip, and nodded, "That sounds like a good idea, I do hope you mean food dessert, and not dessert from our bodies."
If she was drinking some hot chocolate Jane would have choked on it from Maura's words. "I like calling it Maura juices, just like you can call mine Jane juices, if you'd like."
"Jane juices are quite tasty if you ask me," Maura purred. And Jane just laughed shaking her head. "Yeah I think we are quite addicted to having sex with each other."
Jane rested her hand on Maura's knee, giving it a squeeze, she leaned over to nip gently at her earlobe. Maura sucked in her breath, closing her eyes. She moaned ever so slightly and Jane smirked. "Very addicted indeed, Doctor Isles." She pulled away and Maura just looked at her.
"You're such a tease, you know that Jane Clementine."
"Yeah, yeah my middle name is so hilarious, Maura Dorthea," she raised her eyebrows and laughed. "What the hell were our parents thinking giving us middle names like that. They are so embarrassing."
"Well at least we have good compatible last names. Rizzoli and Isles."
Jane laughed, "We sound like fuckin' spies."
Maura just shook her head, "Should we try to continue with ice skating now?" Jane nodded standing up, her balance had gotten better.
"Let's see how it goes the second time around," Jane grabbed Maura by the hand and helped her get up as they threw their empty hot chocolate cups and went back to the ice.
Back in Boston, Angela was at work it was pretty slow for a few days before New Year's Eve, but she was sure that night would be pretty busy. Frankie and Frost came inside the Dirty Robber, deep in conversation when they sat down Angela greeted them. The boys waved at her and continued their conversation.
Minutes later had passed before the conversation was over Frost looked a little upset and Frankie looked at his mother. "We need some good drinks tonight Ma."
Angela just nodded, "Are you alright Barry?"
Frost looked up at the Rizzoli mother. "Yeah I've just been going through some things, I wasn't quite sure of what it was at first, but it had been bothering me," Frost looked down and readjusted his tie. "Thanks for your concern, it means a lot."
Frankie just nodded, patting his friend on the shoulder. "I told him that it was okay, I think he just needed a bit of convincing, right buddy?"
Frost just nodded with a small smile, "I just thank you for not judging me."
"Well I didn't judge Jane and I couldn't possibly dare judge you , Frost you're like my best friend man."
Angela just smiled at her son with his friend, she wanted to know what they were talking about, but it just have been something pretty secretive because she couldn't crack their code. She slid them their drinks and they both nodded in thanks.
She went to go tend to other bar patrons when her youngest son had came in with Korsak. She was confused of what Tommy was doing with Vince. She went to go greet them and Tommy was shaking, holding his jacket close.
"Tommy, are you alright?" Angela looked at her son in concern.
"Yeah Ma, I'm doing alright. Just my car skidded and kind of got damaged and it was getting towed when Korsak drove by and well I hitched a ride here with him. Could I get some hot chocolate Ma, I'm fuckin freezing."
Angela nodded, not even going to scold him from his use of words, she went to go get some drinks from the bar. Tommy and Korsak went to go sit at the bar, Frost and Frankie noticed them walking over and Frost looked down at his drink. Angela was even more confused by Frost's reaction. She ignored it and gave Tommy his hot chocolate and she gave Korsak a beer, "Here you go, thanks Vince for being at the right place at the right time before my boy ended up being a human popsicle," Angela smiled at her fiance.
"Of course you know me, just a good doer for my lady," he offered a wink and Angela's sons just rolled their eyes. "We had a nice conversation on the way over, right there Tommy."
"Yeah, you want Jane to be your best man, which I don't get, I would assume you would have picked Frankie, or even Barry, you're an odd man," he smirked glancing over at his brother and Barry Frost. "You alright over there Frosty?" He asked warmly at his siblings' good friend.
Frost looked up and nodded, "Me yeah, I'm fine."
Angela looked at her youngest son and then to Frankie. He gave his mother a glare to stop her before she said something embarrassing. Korsak looked at Tommy, he didn't mention what else they talked about, probably because Angela was here. He loved her but knew how nosy she could be when it concerned her kids.
"Ma I think someone needs your help, over there," Frankie pointed to some people who just arrived and sat down at a table. Angela just frowned and nodded before going to tend to the new arrivals in the bar. Once she left Frankie turned to Tommy. "I think you have something you need to say to Frost," he eyed his brother who looked down at his hot chocolate.
"Frankie, it's fine you know, we don't have to talk," Frost spoke up and Frankie shook his head.
"No I don't think it is, I'm sure you will feel better if you guys talked it out."
Korsak nodded, looking over at Tommy, "I would agree, just tell him what you told me on the way over here. If you want us to leave we can, give you guys some space," Korsak looked towards Frankie who nodded. They both got up from the bar leaving Tommy and Frost to talk.
Tommy tensed up and looked over at Frost, "I'm sorry Barry... about what happened Christmas evening."
Frost looked at the Rizzoli and shrugged, "It's honestly not a big deal."
Tommy got up to move to the stool Frankie just left, "What I did was a jackass move. When you dropped me off and walked me to the door it was just surprising to me, like I don't even do shit like that with girls I go out with. I know I was kind of drunk off of Ma's and Korsak's eggnog. But I was the one who made the move and I could tell it freaked you out because honestly it freaked me the fuck out. I didn't mean to ignore you but trust me I could see the weird look on your face and I'm sorry man."
"You just left me there on the porch, I might add. I couldn't even get any sort of response in. I was surprised when you kissed me. I mean I even kissed Gwen that night thinking she was into me, and not Frankie. A guy like me doesn't really get someone interested in them. I was confused and I just felt alone. I always feel alone," he looked down at his drink. "I don't want to feel alone anymore."
Tommy rested a hand on Frost's, giving it a small squeeze. "You have so many people who care about you Frost, fuck I care about you. And it scares me. I'm not the easiest guy to get along with, I'm sure Jane and Frankie told you plenty of stories about me. I don't want you to feel alone. And you don't have to be alone," he looked at Frost. "I don't want to have you feeling that way. I'm sorry I haven't talked to you since that night. But I swear on my life I will do everything I can to make you feel wanted, okay?" Tommy admitted, still holding onto Frost's hand.
Frost just looked at Tommy and down at their hands, "That's the most heartfelt thing I think I have ever heard you say, to anyone..." Frost smiled sadly. "How do I know what you are saying is true though?"
Tommy just looked at Frost, "Because I'm not scared to hold your hand for over a minute," he shrugged. "Trust takes time, but it starts somewhere right," he reached for a pen and a bar napkin, writing his number on it. "Call me anytime you feel alone and need someone around. I don't want you to feel like you can't talk to me, I mean you could be good with all the Rizzoli siblings. Even my Ma seems to like you," he smiled, couldn't help but look over his shoulder, he noticed Angela take a quick glimpse at them before looking back down, now talking to Korsak and Frankie, pretending like she wasn't observing them.
Frost took the napkin with Tommy's number on it and put it in his pocket. "Thanks... For wanting to be there for me."
"You're one special guy there Frost, and like I said I care about you," he squeezed his fingers before regrettably letting go. "Jane is going to flip," Tommy chuckled.
Frost let out a small laugh and nodded, "Yeah probably. We should probably invite them back over here now," he looked over at Frankie and Korsak. Tommy nodded in agreement and waved the guys back over. They came back over in anticipation of hearing how their talk went.
"So?" Korsak raised his eyebrow at the younger two men. Frankie couldn't help but shake his head.
"Come on Korsak, my mother needs to be the only nosy one in your relationship," Frankie laughed. "You done being distant now Tommy?"
Tommy nodded, "I told him what I needed to say, that's all you need to know," he told his brother, then nudged his leg against Frost's. Frost just smiled and went back to his drink. Maybe he would actually be okay. Maybe, just maybe he could have the happiness everyone around him seemed to have. He felt extremely nervous to tell Jane about this development. But at least he had time before that happened.
