Author's Notes: Why do people forget Luke Skywalker confronted the Emperor and lived? This takes place during Luke's first public outing after Boba becomes Manda'lor and the Galaxy in general finds out who the new Jedi Grand Master has married. Concerns are obviously being voiced. I should say that I do actually like Mon Mothma.

Mon Mothma probably should not have confronted Luke in public, in front the media. Luke seemed such a mild man, that people often forgot he confronted the Emperor, and lived. So he never even raised his voice:

"Who I married, or even that I married, is no business of yours, or the Senate, or the Republic. I am not interested in returning the galaxy to the state it was in before the Empire or the Clone Wars. Nor the Republic. Nor the new Jedi Order. That galaxy saw my Grandmother stolen off a ship and enslaved. It saw my Father born a slave. And the old Republic did nothing. The old Republic fought a war with a slave army and treated them like bantha shit even as they were asked to defend it. I have no interest in a return to that status quo.

I am now married to the Manda'lor, yes. But I married Boba Fett. And some may question that decision, (Hi Leia) but it was my decision, one made with a lot of soul-searching and discussion with the only other person who mattered in 'this issue:' Boba. The Republic, especially the Senate, has no say in the matter.

I can see you're going to bring up funding for the new Jedi Order, and quite frankly if it has strings like that...as Boba once so charmingly told me his opinion on the Senate, it can go frack itself with a vibroknife.

I grew up a moisture farmer on Tatooine. Which means I learned to survive and thrive with very little. The new Jedi Order will survive very well without being answerable to the Senate.

Now, if you will excuse me, my husband is trying his best to not laugh at you in public.

Good Day Madame Chancellor."

Needless to say the Holosphere went wild.
